I was here for several years during the hardest period of my life, and every single person treated me with kindness, patience, and deep humanity. They consistently went out of their way to help in any way they could and were able to fix the constant pharmacy and health insurance problems that come with chronic medication./ Special thanks to Kelvin, Betty Jo, and Anna. Kelvin brought a playful calm and never made me feel like a sick patient. In the front office, Betty Jo and Anna are absolute gems -- warm, good-natured, and genuinely some of the best people I've ever worked with, which means everything under these circumstances. The setting is beautiful and homey, with a prize-winning flower garden and within view of the ferry landing which made going to the Psych office feel like going somewhere nice - not how you usually feel going to the Psych office. And I always looked forward to seeing everyone. I have made close friends here. I'm leaving the country now and will miss Crownview. If you're struggling, know this: this place will truly do everything possible to help you. I'm forever thankful.

I'm still happy with them, years later. I have had major depression since childhood -- something…read morethat takes a different kind of understanding in order to treat. Finding a psychiatrist who can do that is not easy, but Dr. Sivtsov is one of them. I have always felt that the doctor listens to me -- that my thoughts about myself are valuable here. That's incredibly important. I am always involved in decisions about medications and treatments. And the doctor is willing to think outside the box when it's called for. The staff is great -- particularly the billing staff -- who have been incredibly helpful over the years . The criticism I see in reviews here is that the doctor is blunt and it makes people feel unwelcome. But most of these criticisms are really about his demeanor, not his clinical ability -- and "blunt" isn't the same thing as "mean" or "unwelcoming." The doctor doesn't present you with the expressive warmth that's common in American medical settings -- the small talk, the overt gestures of friendliness. Part of that is that he's an immigrant, and that style of interaction isn't the norm in the culture he grew up in. But that doesn't mean he isn't patient-focused -- you can see it in the time and effort he puts into his patients. He'll take as much time with an appointment as he needs, and not rush you out of his office. And he'll take the time and effort to really advocate for you with your insurance company. Those are all very patient-centered acts -- he just doesn't express it the way someone raised in the U.S. typically would. And that's fine. Not everyone wants that kind of expressive warmth. I find it stressful and off-putting, personally, so its absence at Silverlining is a relief. But I know that same style puts other people at ease, and being at ease helps them talk more openly about their mental health. If that's what you need, there's no judgment from me -- please go where you can communicate best. Good communication gets you the care you need, and getting that care matters more than anything else. You won't find that style at Silverlining. But if it doesn't matter to you, or if -- like me -- it reads as forced or insincere, or if its just socially stressful, seriously consider this place.

The company reached out with an apology and explained it was a miscommunication between the doctor…read moreand staff. Although I was frustrated, I appreciate the apology and explanation. It made me feel heard and gave me clarity as to what happened. Yelp will not let me delete the review for some reason so I figured I would leave an update. I think in the future it would be helpful if staff call back to schedule appointments rather than organize them via email. This would have helped with the communication and confusion. I am struggling with my mental health and managing appointments can be challenging as is. I will be giving them another shot.
