Thankfully, I haven't had much reason to visit a mechanic in a few years but of course, these lucky streaks don't last forever; my 2006 Mazda was making some loud noise when I turned and I was told that it was a wheel bearing by a friend. Also, reaching speeds of 65 mph or greater, my car/steering wheel begins to shake and pull to the left... plus I figured with the mileage (87K) I probably needed a tune-up. Jimmy was great with calling me and keeping me up to date with everything he was going to do, before he was going to do it. After he assessed that it was, in fact, the passenger side wheel bearing that needed to be replaced, he quoted me full price with parts, labor and tax to make sure I was comfortable with it. He also told me he'd check to see if I truly needed a tune-up before doing one and that he'd let me know before he did any further work; it turns out that I didn't need a tune up and won't for at least another 20k miles or so. He was very transparent in the fact that yes, I did need an alignment but more importantly, I need 4 new tires so he suggested I not do the alignment and just get the new tires before the winter time which would take care of all of the issues I'm seeing with the pulling and shaking. Folks, you won't find honesty like this with a mechanic all that often, trust me... I've done the leg work. He was very friendly, quick and efficient. I will FOR SURE be bringing my car back to Jimmy for any future service needs I have.
