She even said this right out loud, in surprise, as the procedure was getting underway. She went ahead however and tried to put the thing in anyway. As she tightened it into place I almost screamed and fainted; this was far and away the most painful experience I've ever had, in a dentist's office or outside of one. The pain didn't let up and five days later I had her take the abutment and crown back out. She put me on a course of antibiotics to try to stop any infection from the obvious swelling that had begun (see the picture). I rejected her offer to try the whole procedure again, this time with a "tissue punch", and had the botched part redone by a dentist who'd been voted the 'Best in Boston'. Dr. Moser never apologized or expressed remorse and of course never refunded the thousands she charged me and my insurance. I'm currently pursuing legal action against her and filing complaints with the local and state licensing boards.

I have dental phobia and a history of only going to the dentist when I'm having an emergency. They treat the emergency, suggest other necessary work, and then I disappear because it's all pretty traumatic. Rinse and repeat. Enter Advanced Oakdale and Dr. Elkhoury. They're fantastic here. They're kind and patient and understanding of my anxiety. I've returned for routine work as well as more invasive treatment. Yeah, it's still dental work, but if I have to have it, I'm coming here. Tabitha, the hygenist, was very rude, very unsympathetic and very unprofessional. At one point, she raised her voice to tell me "You can't move your arms" I kept jumping and was soaking wet from sweating because she was KILLING me! Finally, after half way through the cleaning, she said, "I think we did enough for today". What? I was so out of sorts, I left without making another appointment to finish the cleaning and polish. I returned the next day when Bethany, the office manager, took me into an office, since she knew I was upset, only to find out that they wouldn't finish the cleaning because I needed a deep scaling.... another $1,000! They refused to even polish. What? 3 weeks later, my mouth has never been the same.... I now have teeth that are very sensitive to hot and cold (which I did not have before I went there) gums that bleed (which never did prior to going there) Needless to say, I was very upset. I went back again, asked for the owner's name, they refused to give me. I asked for the manager's last name, they refused to give me. Would not give me another appointment unless I got the deep scaling. What kind of an operation are they running there? I am in the process of bringing them to court. Honestly, the establishment is new, state of the art, very clean, and was most welcoming....... But beware, they are not who they say they are! What a waste of my time! Do not sign any promotions until you have the actual service first! Very disappointed!!!!!!!

Heading to see Dr. Hempton today, I was even, maybe, a little bit, looking forward to getting my teeth cleaned! This is a whole new world that is hard to explain unless you suffer from dental anxiety. Dr. Hempton and his assistant Judy go above and beyond to make me comfortable and feel taken care of from day one. They are as nice as they are professional. I highly recommend this practice.
