Rebbeck Realty was our Property Management company for our rental home in Las Vegas. Toni Rebbeck is extremely difficult to get in contact with. She makes it a practice to not answer her office or cell phones so the caller must leave a message which Toni said gives her a documented recorded message. That's all fine and good, but you need to return the call immediately if you are screening the calls like that. Her communication is sorely lacking.
The final straw was with the last tenant Toni moved into our home. From the first month the tenant moved in, I received complaints from my neighbors about the rowdy teenagers and the numerous cars, trucks and boat parked in the cul-de-sac. It left no street parking for my neighbors nor for their visitors. My neighbors were very easy to get along with, but the tenants were unbearable. I would inform Toni of the complaints and she would assure me she'd check it out, but nothing would change. Also, the tenant lied on her application about who would occupy the home and when it was discovered the tenant was basically running a frat house, Toni did nothing to rectify the situation. Also, Toni allowed the tenant to run her commercial business out of the home and then when I questioned her about it she claimed she could do nothing which I found to be untrue after speaking with another well known, much respected Broker/Property Manager in Las Vegas.
Toni will probably claim we did not want to spend money on the home and that is not true. The only item we did not repair over the years was the trash compactor that the tenant broke by misuse. I requested she or her brother contact me before spending my money due to the fact we ran very close to the red line and I needed to know when to expect additional expenses. I will say Toni's brother was very easy to work with and he did try his best.
We decided to sell the home this year and when the tenant finally moved out, our beautiful home was destroyed. Toni knew the condition of our home before this last tenant moved in so I do not know what her issues were the day she did the walk through, but she was in total denial. Most likely the denial came from her guilt over the mismanagement of our home. The only thing she actually did was collect the rent, but for a 10% commission I could have had the rent sent to me and I would have saved a lot of money and done a better job managing my own home from a distance than she did locally. We could not afford to repair the damages done to the home and unfortunately took a loss with the sale.
My advise is to stay away from Rebbeck Realty and their Property Management. I have learned a very costly lesson in all this: Trust your instincts, if it smells rotten, throw it out and get something new. read more
