Coffee shop with lots of seating, nice natural light, and very open space. I ordered a 16oz iced coffee which was fine. Pretty average coffee but I'd come back for the shop vibes. Felt very peaceful inside. There were some pastries in a display by the register that looked good. Interested in trying a pastry and hot coffee next time
I come here often as it's in walking distance to my house. Love the natural lighting and there is plenty of space for seating. I pick up beans here and my favorite drinks to order at the ube or maple spice latte. They have seasonal drinks that are fun to try as well. A solid go to.
Very cute coffee shop with a lot of options. I ordered the Ube Latte . I've had one at another shop and hated it so I thought I would like it at their shop. I still hated it LOL but I came to the conclusion I just hate Ube Lattes. It's not a reflection of them. Lots of seating available, I could see it as a great workspace. I received my drink pretty quickly. Next time I come in town I will stop by.
ReAnimator is still a pretty good cafe for all the reasons I wrote before, but I must dock one star because they don't bake in house anymore. They get their pastries from elsewhere now and don't offer as many food options like sandwiches like they used to. Reason is that they don't bake the bread there anymore I think. If they found a way to bring that back, that would be great, but it's kind of hard now with how competitive the restaurant scene is here! Staff is still responsive and helpful, and the cafe is still a convenient place to work. The new pastries are still good, but don't compare to the old ones in terms of flavor and texture imo.
Cute local coffee shop. Very spacious and there's a decent amount of seating indoors. They do offer a few tables outside. The baristas were friendly. I did mention that it was my first time visiting. If you're aware trying any new place can be overwhelming however, she was very helpful with answering my questions. Ordering coffee here is made simple. I had a pumpkin spice latte that comes with a pumpkin puree. It wasn't sweet nor bitter. It was just right for me. They do offer pastries. And they have a refrigerator with juices and assorted waters. This is a dog friendly place. Almost everyone here had a dog. This is a local spot as many people were familiar with one another. Great place to sit drink your coffee and relax.
The ube latte was amazing and so was their almond croissant. Highly recommend trying both out.
My sister got the latte as pictured and I got an iced latte. It was ok but I got caramel syrup but I didn't really taste it at all in the drink. But there are lots of tables to sit and study at so that's a nice vibe!
Was looking for a coffee shop to work at in Fishtown and stumbled upon ReAnimator Coffee! They have outlets, wifi, and a bathroom so the perfect place to do work at. There is a decent amount of seating but would recommend coming early to snag a seat since a lot of people just camp out the whole day to do work. I tried their ube latte which surprisingly hit a balance between ube and coffee flavor. Whoever was on aux thank you for playing one direction :)
I never imagined I could enjoy a coffee drink more than ReAnimator's magical ube Latte, but wow this pumpkin spiced latte gives it a run for its money!!! Great flavor and not too sweet and so so refreshing!
I'm rarely impressed by coffee shops, but the coffee here is worth it! I was skeptical to try the Ube latte, as I've had them in the past and they were not very memorable or flavorful. They do the Ube latte right, it's so vibrant. You can taste the nuttiness of the ube but also the espresso. Don't know how they did it, but hats off to them.
Lots of indoor seating to come and do work or study. The only downside is that they close around 3pm. I tried the latte and the espresso quality was great. They also have a variety of baked goods including pastries, scones, bagels and bread. Come early though because once they sell out of any of the baked items they're gone for the day!
Hipster coffee shop! Very open and airy with comfortable seating, and I thoroughly enjoyed my salted vanilla latte. It was very tasty, not too sweet and just enough milky foam that my coffee was very smooth! Can't wait to return here to experience this again, maybe even try another coffee from their variety. I also hear that the cold lattes are good too, although I prefer my coffee hot most of the time. But I'm always open to try... til next time. Thanks for the great service!
super solid cafe spot - from the interior to the coffee!! the drinks: got an americano and was super smooth, absolutely love the cute glasses / illustrations that it comes with when you get to sit inside the pastries: they unfortunately sold out of some of the pastries we wanted to try (at 10 am!) so i recommend coming early if you can. besides that, the ham and cheese croissant, lemon poppy doughnut, and almond croissant were all great. the space: lots of natural light and i enjoy the more private seating where you face the restaurant part!
After a terrible time in Charlotte (they just don't do coffee and matcha right lol) , I was so glad to be back in my city where the food and drinks seldom fail to impress me! I saw Reanimator was having a Black Sesame Latte special and had to go! And wow - it was soo good especially because it had vanilla to complement the smokiness/nuttiness of the Black Sesame and charcoal to give it a slightly gritty texture! The Ube latte also blew me away because a lot of non-Asian cafes do not do Ube right but this one was amazing - it had the right balance of strong, high quality espresso shot and a sweet vanilla/coconut aftertaste of Ube. Plus it was such a nice vibrant color! They have a ton of seating indoors and a few tables outdoors as well. read more

We were in town for the weekend and stopped by Re Animator to get some food before we were able to check into our AirBnB. We liked it so well we came back for breakfast Saturday and Sunday too! The food and drinks were great and the staff was generally friendly. However on our last day they were out of bagels before noon, and were unwilling to make a breakfast sandwich on toast. This felt a little silly and it was shocking that they were sold out of bagels so early in the day. However, outside of this fluke we enjoyed our time! read more

If you're a coffee snob, you know the best coffee is always in a neighborhood on the verge of developing. Enter ReAnimator Coffee. It's a coffee shop in Kensington, Philadelphia, a neighborhood once the center of gangs is now home to Philly's newest loft apartments for the urban millennial. And what do urban millennials need? Quality coffee with Instagrammable latte are. Yep, that's me. ReAnimator Coffee is a large shop in an industrial building. That means high ceilings, perfect light, simple design. In the very back is their roastery and the front serves as the coffee bar with plenty of wall seating and tables sprinkled throughout. They sell morning pastries and any type of coffee. Their iced latte was the best I had in all of Pennsylvania, not just Philly. Unlike other hipster shops, the staff are friendly and will make your brew with a smile (slight smile, they are hipsters after all). read more

They have a small simple menu and a bunch of seating. It's a perfect little spot to study and enjoy a cup of coffee. Music wasn't too loud but it can be pretty crowdy. I got the mocha ($5.40 with tax) and I thought it was a nice balance of sweet, bitter, and milky. The latter art was really cute as well! This is an interesting place to find yourself considering the surrounding neighborhood. I often spend time at Philadelphia Photo Arts Center and there's not much around the area. Currently there's construction with some road closures then there is a residential areas and large amounts of parking. In terms of finding somewhere to eat well the closest place is Reanimator Coffee. It's quite the godsend and a pleasure to have a coffee house so close. Walk in and you'll be satisfied with what you see. It's a wide open coffee shop with beautiful natural lighting, large windows, bar seating, tables and benches. My initial thought after visiting for the first time years ago was that they were wasting all this space. But coming from congested Rittenhouse Square I find the open space to be very inviting. Towards the back and open to view is the coffee packaging area. It's a pleasure to watch, listen, and smell. So, on to the food. I drink my coffee black and iced Reanimator Coffee IS THE BEST. It's on par with the delicious Starbucks. My major con and the reason for losing one star and perhaps enough reason to lose two is that the food was a joke. If I remember correctly they charge $3 for a bagel plus a dollar for cream cheese. That's pricey. But wait until it gets prepared. All they do is slice of cold bagel for you. I wanted it toasted with cream cheese. Well, they gave me a cold bagel pointed me to the corner of the coffee house where there's a toaster, and had me toast the bagel myself. And the cream cheese is a a small package of Philadelphia Cream Cheese that comes with a plastic knife for me to apply it myself! $4 for a bagel would make sense if I not only got the food but they also did some work! It is just lazy to have the customer toast their own bagel and put on their own crappy cream cheese with a weak plastic knife that's not able to spread things well. How absurd. So on future visits I would just get a LARGE and delicious cranberry, sea salt, and chocolate cookie for less than $3. Note that there's also a outdoor seating and bicycle parking. read more

This is probably one of my favorite coffee shop in philly. The location in master street is convenient and very fitting to the new neighborhood of Olde Kensington, and of course the hipster vibe Fishtown. My go to is the cap, but tried the latte today and was so amazing. I had top stop myself from gulping down the whole thing. The texture was so smooth and the sweetness of well steamed whole milk really blended well with their espresso beans. If you want to try something little new, try their espresso tonic! (Pic attached). Will be coming back here of course. Highly recommend. read more

Reanimator is the best coffee in Philly hands down! Their coffee is a bit pricey but I'd much rather my money go to a local business rather than a chain like Starbucks. The baristas are always very friendly and the coffee is consistently good. I also just love the atmosphere of their shops and each location is so cute. read more
