Ask for Kate Herbold! Our paperwork is not greatest and she helped us signed the lease for our new home in four days!! We saw two places and we got turned down by the first landlord because we were not he was looking for (like I said, our paperwork is not great) and Kate found another place within a few hours and made an appointment with me to see the place the same day. I saw the place and decided to apply. She let me know in 3 hours that we can meet with the landlord the next day and possibly sign the lease if everything goes well. I had the pleasure to work with Tony in search of a new apt for me in Astoria. He respects his relationship with other brokers and carefully listens to your needs. He even talked the landlord to lower the rent so that the apartment better fits my budget even though that would lower the amount of money HE would earn. Realty 2k was incredibly helpful in finding an apartment. I was looking for an apartment for over 2 weeks before I met Harry from Realty 2000. Harry was amazing! He had 5-6 apartments ready to view the same day I called him. He kindly let us know ahead of time and would text reminders about appointments that had been setup. He was very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure that I was able to secure my apartment no matter the obstacles. When I listed my two businesses with this agency, I was really impressed with the professionalism of the owner/agent! Then I was informed that individuals could not find the listing! I also spent considerable time looking for the listing and finally found it with another agency! When I contacted the owner of the agency and asked him how come my businesses were not listed on the commercial business listing as promised, he became very agitated and told me he was cancelling my listing! I told him that it was not necessary to cancel, but he insisted! I would caution anyone wishing to do business with this company, to make sure they are marketing your business or home, as promised! We'd had a bad experience with another realtor, so when Harry told me he had exactly what I was looking for, I was a little skeptical, but he was totally right! He helped us find the perfect apartment for our needs and less than a week later, we had signed the lease and moved in. He was very honest with us and communicated well, and even helped us lower the broker fee to better fit our budget. Words can't express the professionalism and courtesy we experienced with Chris. From the start, he was forthright, honest, and always willing to help from start to end. He is a true gentleman and honest businessman. My girlfriend and I were very apprehensive using a broker and prior to meeting Chris and seeing several listing with other brokers, we were convinced that all brokers met the negative stereotype. We were ready to give up looking for a place in Astoria, but we were so happy to have met him and we weren't bothered to pay a broker's fee. I have worked with Chris at Realty 2000 not once, but two times while finding apartments in Astoria. If I have the chance, I will most definitely work with him a third time. My first experience was looking for an apartment with a long time friend. We first tried our luck with craigslist and other shady websites but decided a broker seemed like the best option. At the time, my friend was still living in another city and I was extremely busy with work. Chris was willing to work around my schedule to show me wonderful apartments in the area. My roommate and I had a strict budget and everything we were shown was within limits. After seeing about two places, we fell in love with the third. It was a gorgeous apt, very clean, nice landlord and an ideal location right by the train and 30th ave. It was comforting to be walking down the street with Chris and him knowing so many people, he has obviously been in the are for a long time so it showed me he was trustworthy and knowledgeable. A year later, my boyfriend and I were looking for our own apt. There was no question whether or not I would go back to Chris again. The second time around was even better. He knew what type of apt i was looking for and really incorporated both my boyfriends needs and my needs into finding the perfect place. Again, he really worked around our schedules and prepared us well for interviews we had with management companies. My experience with Realty 2000 was fantastic! After searching high and low and viewing all kinds of places (good and bad) in Sunnyside and Woodside, I found an ad posted by Tony (real estate agent) and was able to view the place immediately. I knew right away that this place was perfect for me. Tony was very professional, communicative and straightforward-- on time and quickly in touch throughout the process, he even worked around my schedule to allow me to come back out to Queens to put money down that night so I could have "first dibs." I got a great deal on a fantastic apartment, the fee was reasonable (discounted rate), and I didn't feel like I was getting the "run-around" -- certainly didn't feel pressured to decide anything right away. Everything was as stress-free and clear as could be! They were very accommodating both in meeting times and negotiations about move-in dates, etc. These guys know what to look for in a good place, make good matches with tenants, and will do their best to make sure that you're completely satisfied. The whole process was flawless. Complete with a folder for my paperwork. :) I am so thrilled about my beautiful new home! I found my apartment because George has a very knowledgable, intuitive sense of how people would fit well into Queens...the right neighborhoods and right units for specific tastes. I saw an apartment from one of the listing apps and I contacted the agent right away, his name is Harry Orphanides from realty 2000. he urged me to make an appointment and see the place as early as possible. He knows the system very well and will tell you without hesitation the things that you should be aware of as a customer. We saw the place and harry gave me a tour around the area. Unfortunately, the landlord chose another tenant to have the place. I thought that was it, that I need to keep looking and continue what i've been doing by checking listing apps and contact the agent of the place that I liked. But, Harry kept in touch and kept looking for an apartment that is within my budget. He surpassed my expectation. Harry found a new listed apartment and the first thing he did was to contact me. The place was really nice that he could have had contacted his close friends and family to have the apartment. But no, he called me first and he made sure that I will get the apartment. I signed up for Yelp just so I could share what a great experience I had working with Tony. Apartment hunting in NYC is so stressful and he immediately put me at ease with his friendly and honest demeanor. Even if I hadn't found my place through him, I'd have written a review because he was such a breath of fresh air, making me laugh and calming my nerves! But he did help me to find the perfect place, and his professionalism, kindness, and efficiency made the whole process stress-free. I felt like he wasn't just trying to rent the place but really invested in making sure it was the right apartment for me as well as ensuring I would be the right tenant for the landlord he represented. He went above and beyond any realtor/broker I've ever worked with to make sure everyone's needs were being met. While driving me through the neighborhood, he took care to share lots of little tidbits about the neighborhood and check in with me about how I was feeling about the neighborhood and the apartment once my application was approved. I went back to the Realty 2000 office twice, to submit my application and then again to sign my lease. Both times I understood immediately why I felt so taken care of with Tony -- the culture of the office reflects the culture of Astoria, a true community full of a bunch of really nice people who enjoy being around each other and are happy to help with whatever you need. I absolutely recommend this agency and Tony in particular, though my sense from spending time in the office is that Realty 2000 hires and develops great people so you probably can't go wrong with any of the brokers. This place does not do background checks on landlords. They will pretend like they know the landlord and try to convince you that they are good. They aren't I lost $3,000 in security because Tony does not feel like it's his responsibility to do background checks. Then I lost $1,800 to spend money on a guy that will make you trust him and then will fight with you if you try to call him out on being wrong. He will not help you get the security back that you lost because you trusted your broker. I would avoid this group and Tony if you are searching for a place. He will sell you on a bad landlord then leave you when the landlord is horrible. Will not refund the money you spent on a place based on his trust that he harvested for you and will fight you on it. Also, will never claim any ounce of responsibility. Avoid using this company at all costs, I know there are good reviews as he likes to boast about himself. But if you use him require that he does a background check on the landlord you are going with first, so you don't lose your money either read more
