I can only talk in respect to my experience with George Damiris. I found what appeared to look like a nice apt in zillow. I texted him with my info and when he called me he was so rude. I asked him if he had any pictures of the apt because they do not appear in the post when I viewed on my phoen. I double checked now on my laptop and there are no pictures for the listing. I asked if he can share pictures and he rudely replied with "everyone can see the pictures, what you mean you cant see them." and proceed to hang up. like what? after seeing other reviews I am glad that is as far as our conversation got. read more

I can't speak for the rest of the company as i have only worked with Peter Klappas. So say the least, Peter Kiappas has poor communication, is rude and rushes his clients. He rushed me to meet him at 1am. I had issues with my Knees at the time and explained it will talk me a little longer to get there, his response was "Jesuit Christ' and continues on that he is very busy and has to leave, and that i need to hurry up. I respect that, wouldn't want to waste anyones time. As i approach the building he is on the corner talking what i'm sure was another possible tenant. He is rushing me around the rental, i hear him on the phone, then he rushes me out of the rental and i could clearly see his other clients waiting to view the same location in which he claimed he was in a rush to leave from. So his SCAM is he claims he is in a rush to show another apartment when in turn he is standing outside the same place all day show it, over and over again, giving everyone the same story. I don't know about you, but i want to feel some level of trust with my realtor, or at least some general honesty. I will never work with someone so unprofessional, who can so clearly express their irritation with you by uttering under there breath "Jesus Christ" when you doing your very best to get to your appointment on time. Along with calling a few times to be clear i was running roughly 10mins late. Poor, poor communication, clearly had NO manner and was down right RUDE!!!!!! My roommate and I met Peter during our apartment hunt in Astoria. We met him in his office and he was very professional, helpful but realistic. He showed us this mediocre duplex and after talking to him further about our price-range, he flat out told us that the most affordable three bedroom we had wasn't within our price-range and that it's difficult to find one at the amount we wanted to spend. I politely challenged him saying that we had found an awesome apartment earlier that day but still wanted to take a look at the one he had to offer us. Then, Peter, a BROKER who works on commission did something unheard of: he said that if we had found a place within our price range to go for it, regardless of the fact that it wasn't with the company he worked for and that he wouldn't get any money from it. It was a very admirable and respectable thing to tell us. So even though we didn't actually get an apartment from Peter and Century 21, his selfless honesty was very much appreciated and the bit of time that we did spend with him was pleasant. I would recommend him to people looking in the Astoria area. read more

Disclaimer: I cannot comment on any of the other agents in this company. I can only comment on the gentleman who I worked with. I worked with Michael Botsios - a born and raised Queens guy himself. We texted the day before to confirm. Michael was FANTASTIC. I could not recommend him enough. Michael showed me multiple apartments in various buildings. The apartments he showed me were all very nice; the location and size of the apartments were great - especially for the prices! During the viewings, Michael did not at all try to push me or "sell" me. He showed me the places, answered my questions and listened to my feedback - no hard sell, no urgency to make a decision. He even negotiated the rent down for me with the landlord... which speaks volumes, in my mind (since lower rent = lower commission for him). Michael was very straightforward and "tell it like it is," which I find rare with real estate agents. Also, being from Queens, he recommended a bunch of places around the area to eat and drink (which, as a foodie, I will always take). I get the sense that Michael's integrity - especially his professional integrity - means a lot to him and that makes him very trustworthy. He is a pleasure to work with. Thanks, Michael!!! found a decent studio in JH and was shown the place by george, he was incredibly rude and unprofessional, it seemed he already had someone lined up for the place so not really sure why he agreed to show it in the first place? vaguely and rudely barely answered our questions and rushed us and the previous people out in less than 2 minutes, my friend and I were there a total of 2-3 minutes as he was basically rushing us out just standing by the door already looking for the next person it almost seemed like he had preconceived notions, perhaps racial about my friend and I and was treating us as such, ofc we knew he didn't care bc at the end of the day he'll still get a client regardless as it's very apparent many people are looking but wow he was INCREDIBLY rude and if you can find another broker i'd highly recommend you to do so. When i asked about applying he immediately told me someone had already applied but he'd let me know the next day and when I called the next day to get an update he told me someone had taken the place already "sorry" which really makes no sense as to how an application got approved in less than 24 hours, extremely shady. read more

Wish I could leave zero stars. I have now dealt with several different realtors from Alexiou. They have all rushed us and were unhelpful working with our budget - and fine, Astoria is a busy and competitive market. They would've still gotten 2-3 stars. But the last realtor was the final straw. After finally getting and confirming an appointment the day before, he proceeded to drive by us waiting at the building. Get back in his car and drive a way. We had come straight from work, still in full business attire and thought it was apparent we had been waiting to meet him. Perhaps it was a mistake or he was looking for parking. So we waited several minutes - then we called him, at which point he told us that he had forgotten the appointment AND the unit we had wanted to see had signed the lease thirty minutes prior to our appointment. Given that he is no longer communicating with us, we can only assume from this behavior we were discriminated against given our appearance. This is disgusting and unprofessional. If you're looking to work with Alexiou realty, I guess you'll have to meet them in person to see if they like the "look" of you. Otherwise, take your time and business elsewhere. read more

He didnt get her broker fee back after she HAD to move out after 7days because the place he introduced was infested with roaches. its not like she wanted to move out.. I mean i understand their job might be just finding a place.. but she moved out just after 7 days.. without a new place .. and she decided not to work with the George guy because she was so stressed out with the whole process working with him and during the whole time he was keep telling her how shes going to find a place that accepts a dog? I wouldn't want to work with him either (beside I heard that he was not giving her deposit of 500 dollars back first before she got sick and tired of him and had to sign the lease to the horrible place !) He was all yelling at her to take him to the court because he said his only responsible to get people signed. and when she asked him to write what he just said so she can ask the lawyer he denied. Kostas was so friendly and helpful! Finding an apartment in Astoria with a dog is no easy task, but Kostas showed us a great apartment! When we followed up with him about the apartment a couple of days later he responded quickly that he was out of town and gave us his brother, Peter's and business partners number and called to Peter as well to make sure he took care of us. We ended up taking an apartment in the city from another broker, but I highly recommend Kostas and Peter. I was searching for a 1 bedroom in Astoria on a limited budget, and I had a dog so I was looking for a needle in a hay-stack. If I could, I would give Peter 0 stars. He talked us into meeting a landlord to a place we didn't even care for and was out of our price range. When we decided we didn't want to sign the lease, he told us our deposit has been waived, even though we signed nothing. I went in to speak with him directly and he offered me half or nothing and wanted to sign a paper saying he gave me my entire deposit back. He is a crook and im sure he does this over and over again. In June, my wife and I were helping our son find an apartment in New York. We also knew that he would need a guarantor. Since we live in Texas and the New York rental market is completely foreign to us, I read about it online and read a lot of horror stories about realtors. I read some good reviews about Peter Klappas and called him. He answered my questions over the phone and we made arrangements to meet him. We emailed Peter with our son's wishlist and budget. We met Peter at his office and he was there and ready to show us what he had. Peter had about 6 different apartments to show us that were within my son's budget. As we walked/drove to the different apartments, Peter talked about the neighborhoods and particular buildings. Peter clearly knows the area and was honest with what was available in our son's price range. Peter clearly made an effort to show us apartments that fit or came close to our son's wishlist. After the first showing, a small studio, Peter asked us what we thought of the space. We told him it was too small. I believe Peter was trying to get a better idea of what our son wanted and all the apartments he showed us after that were larger. Our son ultimately found a sublease situation in Manhattan and took that.
