Reality Roofing is an excellent roofing contractor. I hired them to address an issue on my house roof, which had been shingled by another contractor, and to do a new roof for my garage. In each case the work was excellent. The garage roof was beautifully done. It is not a simple roof, as it involves several different planes, as a result of a large bumpout in the front, and the shingles were straight, and lined up perfectly in the valleys where the various surfaces come together. The roof is flat and watertight. It has withstood Sandy, and the horrible snowy winter we had last year, without a problem. Bobby is a pleasure to deal with, and the crew he sent was neat and efficient. They took great pains to capture all of the debris while the job was being done, using tarps etc. for the purpose. All of the debris from the removal of the old roof was taken away--there were none of those annoying little scraps of asphalt, etc. or nails, to be found anywhere around the job. I know that if I did have a problem Reality would be right there to fix it but I fully expect that the next time I call on them will be to replace the roof on my house, when the time comes. When my home owners insurance notified me of an increase in my premium because of a dated roof I called Reality Roofing and spoke directly with the owner. They were able to schedule me in immediately at my convenience. First they visited my house and sat down to discuss the roof condition, pricing and alternatives. They helped me select the appropriate style and color going over the pros and cons including future house sale considerations. Once that was finalized and work scheduled they completed the work in a day without any debris left over. The new roof greatly improved the home appearance. The price was very competitive to other offers and the value was far superior and we received numerous compliments from neighbors. Moreover, some time after the roof was completed I called Reality Roofing in regards to some shingles that were damaged. The is a very reputable roofing company. I have worked with them on 3 separate projects and have referred them to my parents and sister who have both used them. The first project that Bob and his team helped me solve was some leaking in the back of my house. I had already worked with a local roofer who had charged me to remove the shingles where the rear of my house meets the lower extension and install new metal flashing. He claimed that new metal flashing would solve everything. It rained and things still leaked. After trying to get this roofer to return to no avail, I was recommended to Reality Roofing by a neighbor that knows Bob through a local charity. Bob and his men inspected the roof and determined that all the water was coming into the house through a second floor bedroom window and not through any defective metal flashing. For a very reasonable price, the window was replaced and the leak never happened again. The second project was the replacement of the roof on the entire house. This week, I had a visit to my roof by squirrels or raccoon(s). To the point, it woke up the house at 2am in the morning. We could not see any damage in the early morning darkness but when we returned home that afternoon, we saw what appeared to be some shingle damage. I called my original roof people and they were unavailable at 430pm but eventually called and said they "could not fit me in for a few days". I tried Reality Roofing knowing they were in the neighborhood, I was able to reach someone after 5pm and they came by the NEXT day to check. Luckily, they did because I had major roof damage (9 rips in the center arch of my roof). There were spots where the shingles had been completely pulled away exposing the interior wood. Reality Roofing fixed the roof promptly and completely replaced the center arch of the roof. Not repaired, I would have had extensive water damage if it rained. By the way, I am sitting in my house dry and content as it has rained ALL day. I cannot thank Reality Roofing enough and would refer them to my friends. read more

I first used Reality to replace gutters and downspouts around my house. The price was fair, the material good quality and the job was well done. A couple of years later I needed a new roof. The owner of Reality and a sales person worked with us explaining the different varieties of material, warranties and costs from standard asphalt roofs to slate. Their price for slate was very good and less than other estimates, but ultimately we decided on an architectural asphalt shingle which was priced in line with other estimates from other roofing contractors. The job was done within a day as scheduled, the crew was very pleasant and clean. We had a gravel driveway and we were concerned nails from the removal of the old roof or addition of the new roof would end up there and cause a flat tire. The crew spent extra time making sure no nails were in the gravel. After a major storm we had a tree hit the house and they came the following day to repair the damaged shingles and gutters- the price to repair was nominal. read more

I have been dealing with Reality Roofing in one way or another for almost a decade. I have a rather large property with several structures and many trees. Bob Shanon and son Bobby have always taken care of all my issues with a professional and courteous attitude. He has replaced my gutters many times over due to tree and storm damage. When I rebuilt our house in 2009, there was no doubt that the roofing budget would be quite large. After several estimates (just to do my do diligence) Reality Roofings estimate was right on target. Having my Roof redone by Reality Roofing was a very seem less easy experience...The sales person Cay who visited my home was very thorough and pleasant. As promised, The owner Bob Shannon personally showed up with his crew on the pre-determined day...and did a magnificent job on my house..They worked fast, clean, and Bob took care of a few minor problems that arose at no extra cost!! When they were done there was no sign that any work had just been done! I was concerned about fallen debris(especially nails because of kids) but they left my property IMMACULATE!!! Reality Roofing saved me!!! After the last wind storm, I lost a large portion of my roof. I called Reality Roofing and they sent someone over the following day. Turns out, because I had multiple layers my roof was more susceptible to wind damage. Wish I would have known that the last time I had my roof redone :-/ I decided to go ahead with Reality Roofing and have the roof re-done the right way. With the recent wind and rain storms a portion of our roof's shingles blew off exposing the wood sub roof and causing a major leak into our home. Reality Roofing promptly came and gave us the best estimate for the job. Their representative, Cay Shannon, was very personable and helpful. We needed a completely new roof to replace one that had been improperly installed. Bobby was so helpful and not only suggested a color that I would have never chosen, he GUARANTEED I would love it, and I do! The whole roof was replaced in one day, and when the crew left, there was not a single piece of garbage anywhere to be found.
