Service call for Dryer repair: Tech arrived as scheduled. He brought down 2 bags of tools from his car. Showed him to the laundry room and started to check the washer until I told him the dryer is what I called for. Pressed the power button on and off looking and listening for something. (I forgot to take a Dryer ball out which he can see from the door). He did this 3 times and then tells me he has to go and will send his brother later today around 7PM. read more

Real Tech - Appliances & Repair Near Me - Elk Grove, California

Washer started leaking. Hoping to keep this Bravos XL in the family I called Nick at Real Tech. He quickly responded, on a Sunday I might add. Made an appointment for me the following day. He let me know before he arrived that he was still expecting to be at my house in the small window of time we previously discussed. He came in was courteous and professional coming in our home. He spent time finding our leak. But he didn't stop there. He continued his diagnostic inspection. Went a little deeper into a diagnostic inspection. His knowledge of machines and engineering led him to believe there was a bigger leak elsewhere. Sure enough He found a second leak. This second leaks repair was not going to be cheap. He told me upfront. The better value would be getting a new machine. He didn't try to force one repair. Or a complete repair on my machine. He told me my best value would be replacing the machine. Not the part. This meant less profit for him. That is an honest professional answer. I greatly appreciate Nick being a real professional. This saved me a ton of money. If he would have stopped looking after finding a problem, which I assume many would do, I would have paid for a repair. That was needed but didn't fix the total problem. His honesty saved me from spending more than I should on a repair and not repairing part of the problem. Thank You Nick for you knowledge, professionalism and honesty. read more

We recently had issues with our refrigerator. I requested a quote via Yelp, Niko quickly responded, and I scheduled an appointment. Niko texted me en route and arrived early in the estimated time window. When he arrived, we realized Niko had fixed our washer about a year ago. (He did a great job!) Niko examined our refrigerator, ran diagnostics, and determined that our compressor had gone out. He explained what he would fix, approximately how long it would take, and how much it would cost. He finished and cleaned up in about 2.5 hours. Then he explained what he replaced/fixed and what we should expect in the next 24-48 hours. We are happy to have our refrigerator back up and running, freezing food and making ice as it should. I would not hesitate to recommend Niko's repair services. read more

This review is long overdue. My husband contacted Nick, because our refrigerator was about to go out. Nick was very responsive, and showed up in the time frame he told my husband. Nick was very professional and competent. After looking at our refrigerator, he informed my husband and I that it was not fixable. To be fair, the refrigerator was over 10 years old. Nick did not charge us for coming over. My husband and I appreciated Nick's competency, honesty, and overall demeanor when trying to explain what was wrong with the refrigerator. Nick is definitely someone you want to hire! read more

I can only give 2 stars. Service was prompt. But there were red flags that I felt uncomfortable and wanted to share. I have a 20 year old HVAC system with zone control. Wall mount thermostat went blank and I was looking for help in getting it fixed in a hurry. Niko was the person who promised to come next day and wind up actually have his brother Sergey come the same day. Great. There was going to be $100 diagnostic charge. That seems to be reasonable. Ok. Sergey came, stated there is a dead short. He recommend changing capacitor, contactor and fuse for $745. Ok. I can understand fuse, and contactor because of the dead short. The capacitor can be visually observed and tested with a meter. I asked why capacitor, whether he tested it. I cannot get a straight answer. Either he is incompetent in identifying whether the capacitor is defective, or he is trying to upsell, just lump in something that is not necessary to change to inflate the bill. I opted not to have the job done by him. He left with the furnace cover open, took a schematic drawing from the outside condenser and did not bother to remove a mouse corpse from capacitor housing. I asked Nico tjust send me the snapshot of the schematic drawing. I have yet to hear back from him. Niko offered me a refund and explained to me that he should not have asked Sergey to service the call. I accepted his explanation and increase the star rating to 4. However, I still think the $745 price to change out a capacitor / contactor / 3A fuse is still extremely high, even though I was told it is from California blue handbook. read more

I had a great experience with Niko at Real Tech. On a Friday afternoon, I discovered that my dryer was no longer producing heat. I sent a text message to Niko on Friday evening describing the problem, my dryer model, and asking about his availability over the next week. Within minutes, Niko responded and was available to come by the following day. On Saturday, Niko arrived right on time. He quickly diagnosed the problem and had the parts needed to complete the repair. As part of the service, he also identified and replaced several bearings and wheels that were showing signs of wear. He completed the job in a little under an hour. Now my dryer is running better and quieter than it has in years. I could not be more happier with the repair.
