BRENDAN at NEUEWAY - 3D PRINTING & REPAIRS in LA is your guy. *SITUATION: The handle of my 10+ year old LG refrigerator fell off. Unfortunately, given the fridge's age, LG discontinued the replacement parts which gave me very few options to fix the handle of a functioning fridge. *POTENTIAL SOLVE: I located a blueprint for the replacement part online but was weary of the website that housed the blueprints so I reached out to BRENDAN in hopes of getting some advice about using the prints as well as the process of 3D printing. *SOLUTION: BRENDAN assured me that the website was legitimate. In fact, he offered to download the print himself to confirm that the dimensions were indeed correct for the fridge handle. In addition, BRENDAN suggested the materials that would be sufficient for the job. Once he printed the item, I requested a change and, without any hesitation, BRENDAN made the change, offered to reprint, and mailed me the final product. AGAIN: if you are looking for exceptional service and someone who will act as a partner, BRENDAN at NEUEWAY - 3D PRINTING & REPAIRS in LA is your guy. I would absolutely use BRENDAN again!

They're local, which is a plus and the guy on duty took the drive, fired up his laptop and took a look at the file. Initial quote was 40 hour run time and $200. If you're familiar with WH40K, AoS or other GW games, you'll know that stuff from ForgeWorld isn't cheap but most comparable models that size run about $100USD, are in resin and are smooth (they don't have the "lines" that you get from ABS stuff...I know it's the nature of the beast). I'll be back for another job; only reason not a 5-star is that it was not "mission accomplished" and sadly that project will be on standby until I can find someone with the skills and a resin-capable 3D printer.

A few months later, after researching many printer designs and different brands, I ended up purchasing the big brother, of the Bukito, called the "Bukobot." Since all of this was new to me I thought excellent technical support was critical. Deezmaker is open seven days a week, and you can reach them by email, or by phone, or if you're in the area, in person. Every time I've needed help with something, I've gotten immediate assistance. Best of all, everyone there is not only knowledgeable, but friendly, with none of the attitude that sometimes crops up when you're a beginner asking an expert for help. I've been to the store a dozen times, whenever possible I go to their monthly Meetup, and again and again I've seen a willingness to answer even the most naïve questions. This morning I discovered that a part on my 16-month-old, heavily used printer, had cracked. I drove out to Pasadena, hoping they would have a replacement in stock. Not only did they have it, but they encouraged me to do the work myself while I was there, and provided helpful suggestions, and even let me use their tools to make the repair. If you have any interest in 3-D printing, or simply want to understand something about the mysteries of it, stop by their shop. You will feel truly welcomed, and if you want to delve deeper, I strongly recommend the class they offer, called, "Zero to Plastic," which is a very thorough and well presented introduction to 3-D printing. I've had a lot of fun with my Bukobot, and it has turned into an essential tool in my design studio.
