I used Alliance for a large roofing project and also to replace a shower base. Alliance provided a…read morelifetime mold-free guarantee for the shower work. Imagine my surprise then when no more than six months after the work was completed, my shower base had developed extensive mold in the seaming between the base and the wall tile. I contacted the owner to make him aware of the issue, and he stated that they had used the wrong caulk and would address the issue by replacing the caulk. However, when they came back they used the same caulk as the first time and the employee stated that was the caulk they always use. After a short time, the mold came back just as before. I contacted the owner yet again and was told I should just clean the caulk and he cannot come re-caulk every year when mold grows (notwithstanding the fact that the project was guaranteed mold-free). What seems more likely to me is that the correct caulk is not being used, or poor workmanship has caused mold to grow underneath the mold-free caulking. After repeated attempts to communicate with the company and the owner to remedy the issue, they have now become completely non-responsive. I would only recommend this company if you are willing shell out several thousand dollars and take the risk of being left with a deteriorating final product and no recourse for correction. Zero stars, do not recommend.

I hired Mike & Angel to repair the front porch/deck of my grandfather's home that I inherited, along with repairs to a deteriorating chimney. Attaching a "before" picture along with the finished product to show just how bad it was. They were responsive regarding my options and the different price points for each. The price for the work was very reasonable and well below some other numbers that I heard thrown around. Bulk of the work was done in one day, with touch ups and such done the following day as they lost daylight (which is completely understandable). Were also very responsive when I noticed something that was missed - went up the same day and corrected the issue along with doing the touch ups. All in all, good guys that did great work for a reasonable price!

Our house is not a cookie cutter house, but has lots and lots of nooks and windows which stick out and so on and so on. The crew did a fantastic job making the siding fit perfectly everywhere. Along the way we discovered a few minor and a few major issues (rotten wood, random electric wires where they shouldn't have been etc.), and they fixed everything without making price adjustments. One major issue was dealt with quickly and with a very fair price adjustment. All in all I am so happy to have found a fair and reliable contractor in our new city. The total price was right in the middle of several offers we got. I will be using them again for a few more projects.

They had no idea even how far off the floor to put outlets, no clue on how to level kitchen cabinets, PLUMBING? - DON"T BOTHER! - neat/Clean? - They don't know the meaning of the words! - I had work lined up for these people after me, at LEAST 4 jobs and they saw the workmanship and the length of time (which they blamed on a couch being in the way the whole time) uh... Move it to the corner and work on the rest of the place? DUH! - VERY unprofessional, Janice practically BEGS for extra payments to help them from month to month. Overall this was a gut job and they kept throwing in my face that this was a big job, DUH! That's why I called a contractor! I thought they could handle it! - They still have YET to complete the job and have stopped responding to my texts and calls. I have since canceled both of my credit cards that they are using so they cannot charge me anymore! - PATHETIC - DO NOT RECOMMEND ZERO STARS! - They say they are "done" both of my sinks LEAK and there are holes in drywall where there were mistakes made and the won't even respond to me to work together to get this completed. Now I have to hire someone else to clean up THEIR MESS! BIGGEST PROBLEM is COMMUNICATION. We had Jacob, the estimator, come out and give us a quote of around $6,000 (plus or minus a few hundred dollars) for a roof leak repair. The crew came out, installed a new rubber roof on our back sunroom, added a skylight, and did some carpentry work. The only communication I received during the project was a single phone call from Jacob, letting me know the cost might be a few hundred dollars higher than the original estimate. The next day, however, someone else came out asking us to sign a change order stating we owed an additional $3,200 on top of the $6,000 estimate. I could have understood $1,000 over, but more than 50% higher with no warning? That was completely unreasonable. Unfortunately, their fine print allows them to tack on costs without much recourse for the customer. Change orders are presented after the work is done, not during the process, leaving you with no opportunity to approve or decline adjustments as they go. In summary: East Penn Roofing does solid work, but their communication is poor and you should be prepared for surprise costs far above your initial estimate. Buyer beware.
