Ready to Move LLC -EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WITH THIS COMPANY My mother recently hired Ready to Move LLC for a local move within her apartment complex in Macon, GA. The company represented that the job would be completed in one day; however, the crew left early, extended the work into a second day without notice, and requested payment before completing the move. The packing was performed carelessly, resulting in damaged and missing/stolen items, and the company failed to provide the written inventory required under the contract. The owner, Paxton Taylor, removed an antique mirror from my mother's residence for "repair" and did not return it as promised. Communication became sporadic and then ceased entirely. Scheduled return dates were repeatedly missed, and no valid business address was provided. When she visited the address listed online, she was informed that the company had not operated there for some time. My mother ultimately filed a police report due to the prolonged failure to return her mirror and other property/missing items. Based on this experience, Ready to Move LLC demonstrated a lack of professionalism, transparency, and accountability. Consumers should exercise EXTREME CAUTION when considering this company for moving services. There are many others out there with much better reputations. Consider paying a bit more for peace of mind and if you value your possessions. read more

Unfortunately, Ready to Move damaged at least four pieces of furniture, a secretary, a grandmother clock, a round table, and a dresser. We pointed out the clock and round table to the head mover the night of the move, and found the other two with damages after they left. The round table that was deeply scratched had the scratch covered up by a mover with painters' tape during the move by one of the two movers, causing it to be delivered to the first stop instead of the second stop. A desk was also delivered to the first stop instead of the second, despite not being marked with tape, and we will need to make other arrangements to have it moved. Also, because they showed up over an hour late to start, they didn't leave Macon until about 1pm, getting into Atlanta's afternoon traffic, and arrived at Mom's apartment building well after dark. Afterwards, they returned back to first stop to deliver a dresser that was marked with painters' tape, but not dropped off at their first stop originally. We are also missing a wooden shoe rack that was loaded onto the truck towards the end of packing. This review is to only help. My father owns his own business and rely heavily on his clients. Here's some background. I contacted Ready to Move on Wednesday. They were my last company to get quotes from. Prior to the call, I checked out the website and gathered it was a family owned and operated company and was more inclined to select their service. I spoke with Paxton my rep/point of contact, and I told him that I received a quote from a competing company for $10 less an hour. He said that he could meet that no problem and he had Friday morning available. Which I thought was awesome because I took off from work to make sure everything went alright. Also the competing company only had Friday evening available from 4 pm to 6 pm and I didn't want get stuck in 5 o'clock traffic and congestion the hallway, elevator or stairway with my belongings. Essentially I wanted a smooth move with little traffic without aggravating my new neighbors. So I Thursday I get a call from the truck driver which was not Paxton saying he was on his way. And I was surprised because Thursday was allocated for all utilities to be hooked up. I advised him that the move was for Friday morning. He apologized and said he would be at my home bright and early at 8 am on Friday, September 26, 2014. I joked apologized for the confusion and said that I'll have breakfast for them. On Fri at 7:34 am I get a phone call from the same truck driver who said that he had a fire to put out. I'm thinking what fires are there in moving so I waited. AT 11:24 am I get a phone call from same truck driver say in he's an hour away so I wait. At 1:30 pm I called and he said he's 45 minutes away. IT'S NOW 2:09 pm and I'm writing this review. The pictures are the items I moved myself to the front near the French doors for an easy move. What's strange about this they sent a work order that went directly to my spam email. The ONLY reason why I checked my spam mail box because I paid my rent early and my complex manager said that he would send a link as confirmation and that sometimes it goes to the spam mail box. I rated it a 2 because I'm still waiting it's 2:12 pm for the truck guy for calling and meeting me at a lower rate but I have yet to see the actual service so that will come later read more

If I could give these people a 0 I would have. My roommate and I used them to move us less than 5 miles and they called the morning of our move to say they were one the way for our 9am move, great! At 9:15 they called back and stated that the truck had broken down, ok, not a problem, things happen! At 10:00 I called back and the man who answered the phone said he sent a mechanic to where the truck broke down and now they had to drive over an hour away to get the replacement part. When I asked why they couldn't send another truck, the man on the phone was extremely rude and started yelling at me and told me we would just have to wait. So we waited another hour. Then another. Then finally at noon I called again, no answer, Then again at 12:15, left a voicemail, no call back. Around 1 I made my final attempt, no answer, call back. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! This is clearly a family business and they don't know how to run a business. I have never dealt with more unprofessional people in my life. If you're reading this, DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! Typical minority owned company. Unprofessional and disorganized. Called day of move to say they estimated they'd be there b/t 5-6pm, we were scheduled to move at 1-2pm. Clearly they contract out their movers. Called the same number that called to tell me they'd be late back to cancel and a TMS movers answered and said they weren't ready 2 move movers and I had the wrong number. We are so disappointed with the poor service that we received. I'd previously used Ready to Move multiple times and went out of my way to hire them again based on previously exemplary service. We were quoted 4-5 hours for two movers. On moving day three movers arrived. We were surprised but okay with the change hoping that the move would go quicker. Unfortunately the truck that was sent for the move was way too small for our two bedroom apartment (no appliances), so the movers had to make two trips. The move ended up taking seven hours! Then we were presented with an invoice for twice what we were quoted. After the movers left we noticed that several major furniture items were stained or broken. Small furniture items were broken and entirely unusable due to careless handling. The movers pushed furniture around rather than lifting it and scratched our hardwood floors. We reached out to the Taylors who promised a return call over a week ago. We are still waiting on that call, even after calling back again. We also emailed them to express our concern but have received no response. What was previously a stellar moving company with an impeccable track record appears to be on the decline. Read the recent reviews across multiple sites and beware that they are not providing the service they once were! If you choose to use them, make sure to get a written quote so you don't get ripped off later. Watch the movers closely to be sure they are taking care with your items. read more

Do not use Ready to Move. Completely unprofessional. We had a 1pm appointment. Got a call saying they will be there closer to 2pm. We call them at 3pm... They say they'll be there at 5pm. We call back at 530pm. They say we'll be there at 615pm. Manager offers 10% discount for our troubles. It's 8pm and we're still 'ready to move'... But we haven't heard from them in 2 hours. I guess we'll find another company. It was a complete waste of my time... Waited all day for a move that never happened. It was as if there was no personnel management. When we asked if the movers were also prepared to pack as part of our requested service, we were told the crew did not have boxes. We'll find another company after this wasted day. read more

What a joke! First off I scheduled a 9:00am move around 9:30 no movers and no call. So I called them they mixed my paperwork with the afternoon moves which was Inconvenient because the cable guy and utilities was set to come to my new house around 2. I was moving from Macon, GA to Birmingham, AL. All we needed was someone to help load the UHAUL with all my boxes and furniture. We had movers out of Atlanta scheduled and they never showed up after we waited on them for hours. Called around and this company sent 2 young guys over within 2 hours. They worked hard and worked smart. They fit 30 feet of stuff into a 28 foot UHAUL- so to speak- they made all of stuff for when it was a very tight squeeze. They worked very hard and very efficiently. I would HIGHLY recommend this company. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone as well as the two young guys who came to move were courteous and very well mannered. They handled my items with care and I was VERY IMPRESSED with them especially on such short notice. Their prices were comparable to other companies but their customer service was amazing. Someone was supposed to come to my house this morning at 9 a.m. to give me an estimate on a move. I waited; no one showed up. Not even a phone call to say they weren't coming. After a friend told me they refused to move her family when they saw her disabled daughter's medical equipment, which they weren't going to need to move, then I no longer was upset they didn't show up. read more

I used them twice before. First and second time was pretty good, the third was a nightmare. The movers broke the 3 slats in my baby's crib (things shifted during transit), ripped a hole in the back of my couch (mover accidentally dropped something on it while unloading), broke the bottom of my dresser (while loading by dropping the end). My desk has a 2 inch chip in it, and a bunch of my stuff have scuffs on it from where they dragged it on what i'm guessing is the concrete. I was moving from a 2 bedroom in North Macon to East Atlanta. The drive was about an hour and 15 minutes, they took 16 hours to load and unload a 14 foot truck. 16 hours. Their truck didn't have a light in the back of it so I had to park behind them and shine my high beams so they could finish for the last 7 hours. Their claims processes is very slow too. Used this company in August 2017 to move. Movers were very inexperienced and did not secure my property very well. They ended up damaging quite a few items. I contacted the company regarding the damages and they sent me to their claims representative, MovingClaims.net, which is basically a company that they use to draw the process out until you submit to a laughable settlement. It's the definition of fraud. So, if you don't mind having your property damaged and then not getting compensated for it properly, this is the company for you. the worst experience of my life !!!!! let's begin with the fact they called me the night before to change my time from 9am to 8am and they didn't arrive until 930am. i told dispatch i was moving a 4 bedroom home they arrived with a 17ft. truck. .... they couldn't send another truck so they say.... i requested 3 movers and brought 8 additional men to help with the move... they did not break down any beds... my 18 year old niece broke down 4 beds in less than 45 mins. my guys brought all the boxes and stuff to the garage all they really had to do was wrap and back... it took them 7.5 hrs to move my house.... and they didn't get everything... they broke items... loss the screws to my mirrors on my dresser... they did not put any beds back together .... they argued for hours took multiple smoke breaks. very unprofessional.... never use this company... i have called this company multiple times to speak to management no one answered or called me back yet.... the worse movers ever!!!!! read more

They should be called UNRELIABLE when Ready 2 Move. I booked my appointment a week and half in advance. I called the night before to confirm the appointment with Dan. The morning of, I get a call saying the truck is on the side of the road because the AC compressor is out. Last I checked, that has nothing to do w 3 men loading a truck driving it a mile down the road and unloading it. My appointment was set for 1:00 so since they knew they had this issue at 9:00am I saw no cause for alarm as any business should be able to have a back up plan in order to fulfill its scheduled commitments. It's now 2:30 and Dan has not called with any update and no one has appeared. I was supposed to be out of my current place like yesterday. No need calling the central office because they will send you straight to voicemail. An appointment doesn't mean anything to them. Where do i start....Move was scheduled for 8/12/16 at 1:00pm. I made the appointment 3 weeks before my move. They called the day before to confirm, but quoted the wrong amount and the wrong amount of movers. No big deal, we corrected and that was it. Friday came around and I was at my residence at 12:30 doing some last minute cleaning and organizing. 1:30 rolled around and I hadn't heard anything. I called dispatch and the phone went straight to voicemail. Someone finally called back at 2:00 and said my window was from 1:00 to 2:00, and they would see where the person with my paperwork was. I waited another 45 minutes and dispatch called back to say they located my paperwork and the crew was finishing up and should be calling me within 30 min. Another hour passed, no call. By this time its 3:45, I am still waiting, I hired a handyman to meet me at my new residence to help me hang things and put things together, which I had to cancel because I only hired him for 2 hours and he had another appointment after mine. I had to pay him the 2 hr minimum so lost $120.00 because Ready To Move was beyond late! By 4:30 I was over it! I kept calling and they would send me to voicemail. The mover finally called me and told me he was on his way. But he was across town so may take an hour, I said thats fine I just need to get this move done asap. I took an entire day from work to do this! Dispatch called me and I told him they need to eat some of the cost I lost due to their neglegence. He said he would talk to his "boss" and get back to me. I waited another 30 min before he called back. He said she would not give any discounts or concession! And she would not call me back directly!!! By this time I have wasted 4 hours of a move day, lost $120.00, and I'm still waiting. At about 6:00, dispatch called me back and said he didn't know where my truck was, the driver was sending my calls straight to VM, if and I didn't know if they were even coming!!!! I was more than disappointed, angry, and hurt. I didn't go off, yell, or be rude to anyone. I am a very respectful person and have a business of my own. The "boss" should have called me and at the very least offered me an apology for the extreme unproffesionalism. I had to find another moving company and was blessed to find one that could take me on Sunday. I believe everything happens for a reason and I'm actually glad they didn't touch my stuff. Absolutely no communication with Paxton the owner and the staff. We booked a weekend with this company because we were moving into a larger apartment. Soon after we booked our move my husband got orders out of state. I called and told Paxton we did not need their services any more because of this military move coming up. A few days later, I receive an invoice for our move with the company but the WRONG date. I called and told Paxton AGAIN we do not need their services because of our military move. THEN I receive an email with the correct move in date ( that we told them TWICE we did not need anymore). I called ANOTHER time and CONFIRMED that we DO NOT need their services. Come the weekend of our CANCELED move, I receive 7 calls from a number I do not recognize. I call the number back and it's a very nice gentleman ready to move us. I told the man nicely what happened and he told me he was not aware of the move cancellation. I was going to let this go until I JUST received a call from Paxton asking WHEN WE WERE GOING TO RESCHEDULE OUR MOVE!?
