He's not sure if that's the reason but he was constantly ignored or told that he cannot play with him. He would tell the staffs every time but they did nothing about it. Do not take your kids here if you prefer a diverse and inclusive facility with proactive staffs that actually does what they should do when kids are having issues.

I have piece of mind knowing that my son is well taken care of from the moment they are picked up. As for their homework help class, I double check my son's homework each night to make sure it's complete, and I have no problems with the quality. I was a little concerned about the shift to common core at my son's school, but the teachers at Quest know how to explain common core methods very well. My son also has private tutoring for reading since he was a little behind. His tutor is great and I've seen so much improvement in his reading fluency and comprehension. He's much more confident in this subject now! The staff there are very courteous and more than willing to work with you to resolve any concerns and issues. I'm very happy with sending my kid here!

But the results were abysmal at best. What she needed was someone to teach her the Common Core Math, that me or my wife could not teach since we both grew up on Classical Mathematics. Common Core Math is quite different and can lead to lower scores for your kids especially when written formulas are required in the tests. Quality is never cheap! A child who is advanced deserves to be taught, stretched, and supported at their own level, not turned into an extra classroom helper. I was also disappointed by the communication. Too often, concerns were brought up in a way that felt one-sided, and it became hard to trust that situations were being handled fairly and objectively. As a parent, once trust in the communication starts breaking down, the whole school experience feels different. I have also noticed the school community feels very different than it did before. Public enrollment dropped from 700 students in 2023-24 to 662 students in 2024-25, and you can feel that change in the school's energy and parent involvement. The school fair felt much emptier than in previous years, and the overall atmosphere no longer feels like the same strong community it once did. The school may work for some families, but it was not the right environment for my child. I want my child in a place where she is both supported and challenged, where concerns are handled fairly, and where strong students are allowed to grow instead of being held back. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.

Whereas my wife and I planned accordingly and moved from Huntington Beach back in 2010, to right across the street from Landell. And we have to pay 11K property tax annually to have our son be in this environment - but I'm sure this is synonymous with how competitive parents are these days.
