There's…read moreplenty of free parking in the lot in the complex, but there's limited indoor and outdoor seating. They've recently changed their weekend hours to close earlier at 12pm on Saturdays. They also accept tap to pay, but enact a % charge on all credit transactions. The ambiance inside can be described as rustic and quaint. It's really cute if you're looking to read and chill. It can get crowded as they're usually busy, but this is a great place to come if you're looking to relax. They have both hot and iced drinks with milk alternatives. The iced drinks come in medium (16oz) and large and the hot drinks come in small (12oz), medium and large. The banana cream pie latte was delicious. It tasted like caramel and bananas, paired well with the coffee, and was the perfect amount of sweet. The bumbleberry pie was okay too but the fruit and coffee combination wasn't my favorite. I'd definitely recommend coming here in the morning for coffee and browsing for books if you're in Duck, NC.

When I entered I was not expecting the number of books inside. This place is huge. The store was divided by genres and had a good selection of books. I am not sure what the pricing was like as I did not see a price on the books. It seems that most people trade books in and use store credit to get newer books. Besides used books, they had some new books and used puzzles. The Recycled Reader had dedicated parking spots for customers. I enjoyed the bank vault that was made into a colorful reading nook. The store is an asset to the community so check it out if you are in Elizabeth City.

I walked in and was immediately intrigued by the selection. Jeannie has cozy mysteries, history, large print, and an amazing selection of children's books. The prices are great and the condition of the books are too! I got presents for my baby niece that she will enjoy for Christmas. The store owner is so sweet and nice. Very helpful. She has stickers, bracelets , and other fun things to buy. Her and her husband do Santa and Mrs Clause pictures on Saturday in December which I thought was cool. I made a day trip from Nags Head to Duck and Corolla, and spotted this bookstore. To my amazement, it had lots of recent and current best sellers as well as historical and classic reads. I was most excited about a book on the Romanovs and Russian (Bolshevik) Revolution, as I had just finished another book on the Romanovs two days before. They had all of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novels and the cover of Tender is the Night that I've been searching for. I grabbed a couple Greek mythology books, Arabian Nights, and The Yellow Wallpaper as well. There were a couple other books I wish I'd bought. They also have cute cat/book totes in case you can't carry all the books you buy. I'm admiring my Beach Book haul now. It was a success! There's plenty of material for your own reading and for gifts. I've always supported "bricks and mortar" bookstores - a sadly dying breed - but this one is a special place worth the time, even if you're in your "happy place" on a much-needed vacation!

The store itself is REALLY cramped - very crowded. I kept knocking into shelves and stuff. Kind of wish there were more spaces to sit and browse, relax, read - it's more of a get what you want and get out kind of vibe. Plus, I found it kind of hard to find things I was looking for. Several authors I follow I couldn't find in their sections. Maybe they have a different niche than what I'm typically drawn to - but there was a nice selection of books in the kids section including a decent showing in teen fiction. Staff was super friendly. Oh, and there was no bathroom. Part of why we had to leave is my little one needed to go, so we had to cut our browsing time short.

Two days later Susan left me a voice confessing that she actually couldn't get the book which waisted a week of my time. I'm in a AP lanuage course in high school and I have a project due at end of the month. She claimed that she could get a used copy in another week but I don't have that kind of time so now I have to go find get another book and Susan wasn't kind or paitent. I would't shop here ever again and I'm glad that I didn't pay and the only I wasted my time.

I really like this book store. Its a great place to hang out and look at books on a day you have…read morenothing to do. I went in to exchange d.v.d.'s, and in return you get store credit you can shop with. They don't take every single d.v.d. but i got a decent amount and found some pretty good reads. They also take books. The store is clean and organized. The prices are pretty reasonable. They had fictional books, cookbooks, new age, spiritual/religious, diy, gardening, children's books and more. The staff was friendly, and its a chill vibe inside. I'll definitely return. They have a location in Norfolk and Chesapeake as well. Check them out!!
