I stumbled upon Absolutely Outer Banks a handful of years ago and I was impressed with the selection of locally made arts and crafts. Ever since, this is my go to spot for legitimate and tasteful Outer Banks souvenirs. In addition to locally made items they also have some vintage items and even some new items for sale. One item that this store specializes in is really cool resin windows that are unique and exude happiness. Absolutely Outer Banks has artwork in all mediums and in all price points. They have jewelry, wood signs, candles, prints, glass work, textiles, metal work, etc.  On my most recent visit I enjoyed looking at a vintage pin ball machine and eyeing up the beautiful array of Fiestaware. There is plenty of opportunity for ooohhhing and ahhhing.  The owner is super friendly so that adds to the overall great experience. Absolutely Outer Banks is centrally located in Kitty Hawk in the former spot of a bank.

On the day that I visited, the employee working was warm, welcoming, and kind. She directed me to a table of merchandise that was on sale, and told me about some other deals going on in the shop. I spend a good 20 minutes wandering, taking everything in. Although there was a lot to choose from, I ultimately ended up leaving empty handed. There were a lot of beautiful selections, but at the end of the day I felt that the price of most items was a little too high to justify the purchase. Even for shops in this genre where you'd expect higher price points (independent spiritual shops in small towns that feature a decent selection of locally-sourced merchandise from local artisans), the prices felt a bit high. That all being said, I would imagine that there is a customer base of folks living in or visiting the Outer Banks who could more easily swing the higher price point than I could. If you're in the area and spiritual shops are your thing, this place is definitely work a visit.

This is a nice size store with reasonably priced jewelry, art, photos, crafts and knick knacks. I came away with a cute pair of earrings and a photo taken by a local artist as well as some small chimes to give as gifts. It sits in the furthest back part of the Monteray Plaza, so the shop could be hard to spot unless you were looking for it. This is definitely worth a stop if you want to browse for something other than the typical touristy destinations. Friendly service too!
