While the food was great, what really stood out was the service. They were totally overwhelmed with thr volume yet still kept up their level of service and food. There was a taxi strike in Milan when we were there. When we asked the manager for ideas on how to get to the airport he went way above and beyond. He started calling car services for us and when he couldn't find one he asked a waiter if they drive us foe the same rate as the car service. I highly recommend!

What it IS: Let's set an expectation -- you're never gonna get a New York bagel outside of New York. I am a realist - I find I'm happier that way! That said, this was a nice experience. The bagel gave a good chew (which was what I was looking for!). The schmear was not quite to NYC standards -- maybe Charlotte standards... but it was nice fluffy cream cheese. And the caffe Americano was... caffe Americano. What it's NOT: This is not a pasticceria... it's a BAGEL SHOP. You cannot get a bagel AND a nice brioche. You come here for a bagel. Breakfast bagel, bagel sandwich, bagel chips.... If you don't want a sweet pastry breakfast, and just want a taste of home, come here!

I normally get a plain bagel, with cream cheese and smoked salmon, so I can't say anything about the other bagels or menu options. Unfortunately, it's a season item so you have to keep an eye out for it during the winter. If you enjoy your bagel. Or need a quick lunch, this is a good option.

Dairy and vegan dishes are listed as such as well. The atmosphere is very inviting. There is a main area in the front for parties and a more intimate area in the back for small groups or couples. We had the made in house pasta, one gluten free, one not. Having tried both it was virtually indistinguishable between the texture of the dishes (the gluten dish had a bit more al-dente to it, but not noticeably so.) Plan on getting 1+ plates if you're coming in with an appetite. While the portions are good, the savory nature of the dishes balances with a lightness that makes it OK to eat more. Beyond the pasta dishes we split a pizza, "4 seasons" gluten free, and they make the dough in-house as opposed to those pre-frozen dishes that are so common. We capped it off with a limonchello and will likely seek this out again should we ever venture back to Milan. Saluti!
