The weakest dish in our meal was the gnocchi in marinara sauce and the best was the simple risotto with Parmesan - cooked perfectly al dente and so much umami depth from the starchy Parmesan sauce. This meal paired well with a Vermentino wine from Sardinia which was reasonably priced at €20 for the bottle. The service was great as well - we said we wanted cold wine and the waiter brought out an ice bucket.

On a recent stay the Radisson Blu Milan, you quickly realize that you're not in Milan. You're in…read morethe more suburban area of Villapizzone. And you also realize there are very limited options nearby to dine at, shop at, or walk to. It will never be mistaken for having the excitement of Milan's urban center. This is especially true if you are there on a Sunday when a large proportion of the limited dining options are closed. Lucky for me, kebab shops are always open. And Fantasia is a block away from the Radisson Blu. Also luckily for me, Fantasia is putting out great doners, in addition to some specialty fryer items like risotto balls. I also liked how after the sun went down, it turned into a bunch of old guys monopolizing the outdoor tables, crushing Birra Morettis, and plowing through packs of cigs. It felt like the real Italian experience. The other thing about Fantasia is that it was literally the only open dining option within a 10 minute walk of the Radisson Blu, so it's got that going for it. If you don't want to take the 30 minute light rail trip into the city, head for Fantasia. It sounds like a strip club!
