I took it to the local Toyota dealership where the entire pan needed to be replaced since the bolt was hopelessly stuck. When I returned to Take Five, the manager was rude, accepted no responsibility, saying that I must have tampered with their work. He then made a misogynist comment that because I'm a woman I must have been fooled by the dealership. Terrible work and unacceptable customer relations. Never again.

Turns out something was dropped in the oil during the oil change, it went through my system and when the pressure built up, shot out of the oil pan (I'm not a mechanic I may be saying this wrong). I filed a claim with corporate and Jiffy Lube denied my claim saying because I have over 200,000 miles a rod came from my engine through the oil pan. Nothing was wrong with my car before the oil change and I definitely did not need any major repairs and there IS NO ROD. I have pictures when it happened on the highway might I add. I had been doing my own car maintenance for the last 11 years or so, so I kind of know what I'm doing when it comes to my car. Not to oust a business or anything, but let's call them 'Fallmart'. I had just moved to a different state and didn't have any tools with me to do the work myself almost a year ago, so I went to Fallmart and they changed my previous oil for a fraction of the price of Jiffylube... It clearly showed now that I have all my tools to work on my car again when maintenance time came along. I went under my car to do everything and what do I find? What is supposed to be a hexagonal bolt completely stripped and impossible to use a wrench or any tool supposed that is meant for the job. It was also put on so tight that I wasn't even able to get it loose after trying a few different ways to get the bolt off. This makes complete sense of why the bolt was completely stripped and ruined. Fallmart basically forced me into having to take my car into a shop to get my very easy to do oil change. I must thank them for that though, because I had such a pleasant time at jiffylube. Courteous employees that explained everything, even if I already knew it which they were able to tell but wanted to make sure all the facts were given. Brought out fresh coffee, very pleasant to chat with while waiting, they even held the doors open for me. This place has amazing service! They even changed the bolt that Fallmart ruined at no extra cost because they had one in stock. The only item I wasn't happy about was that I only needed an oil change, but their bare bones package had way more than what I needed to do. However, if I needed anything else in that package other than just an oil/oil filter change.... I would definitely go back because it would cost literally a few dollars more to let them do the work and provide all the materials which saves me time AND the hassle of doing the labor. I do recommend always checking the website for any promotions or coupons that they have going on. I was able to save $5 on the cost by doing this. They even honored the expired coupon because it was still on the website. What you get for the price of their packages are well worth it if you need multiple things done.

I brought my 2017 BMW X1 to Neal's Garage for a fluid leak. They inspected the car and replaced the…read moreoil cooler. After the repair, the car was still leaking, so I returned for a warranty fix, and they replaced an O‑ring for the upper coolant hose. Even after that, the leak continued. At that point, I no longer felt confident they could diagnose the issue, so I took the car to another mechanic. The second shop identified the actual source of the leak: a broken plastic piece on the oil filter housing where the oil cooler connects. They replaced the entire oil filter housing assembly, and the leak was resolved. From this, I realized that the incorrect part had been replaced initially. Based on what I learned, the plastic housing is the common failure point, not the metal cooler itself. Many mechanics recommend replacing the full housing to stop leaks. When I asked Neal's Garage for a refund, they refused and told me I should bring the car back again under their warranty. However, after two unsuccessful repair attempts, I didn't feel comfortable returning for a third try. At this point, I don't feel confident trusting them with anything beyond basic maintenance. He showed me rough estimates so I'd have them when I'm ready and left the decisions to me. That kind of straightforward, no-upsell approach is rarer than it should be.
