I chose Chapel Hill Tire because it was the only place within walking distance from my dorm. Over the years, I consistently took my trusty Toyota there for service. When I eventually gave the car to a friend, it had 275,000 miles and still ran perfectly. My friend added another 100,000 miles before the old Corolla finally went to Toyota Heaven. In those 42 years, I've lost count of how many cars Chapel Hill Tire has serviced for me, my wife, and my four kids--roughly around 17 cars. We've never had an issue until about a year ago when there was a problem with an oil change. Fortunately, the warning lights worked, and I was able to address it myself. When I informed Chapel Hill Tire about the mistake on my next visit, they were thankful and assured me it was a fluke. However, the same mistake happened again on my next visit with the same car. I was shocked and unhappy. When I informed the garage and the manager, they were equally shocked and horrified. They identified the root cause, explained that it was a data error, and assured me that it had been permanently addressed. Chapel Hill Tire went above and beyond to rectify the situation and ensure it never happens again. Admitting and owning up to a mistake shows a lot of character, and Chapel Hill Tire has shown me just that. Despite the errors, their response has reinforced my trust in them. I look forward to bringing the next 17 vehicles to Chapel Hill Tire.

I've been going to Lloyd Tire for 3 years now, mostly for oil changes and tire rotations…read more I recently found one of my tires would consistently have a lower tire pressure than the others which would set off my tire pressure monitoring system in my Honda every time the weather changed. Because I was in a rush and wanted to get this tire fixed as soon as possible, I dropped in to a local Pep Boys and asked them to take a look at the tire. They told me that I had two nails in my tire that were too close together and my tire couldn't be patched, offering me information on a new tire I could buy. I was a little suspicious about this, so I took my car to Lloyd Tire. They patched the tire in 30 minutes for $30. Lloyd Tire has always treated me well. I look forward to bringing my business there in the future.

I could've sworn it was the front left and had thought that tire looked the worst out of the four tires, but the people at Lloyd were honest in informing me that it was actually the front right side! They replaced that tire and the sound is gone, effectively ridding me of my driving anxiety. They could've just replaced the left tire like I had initially asked and let me continue experiencing the issue, but they let me know exactly what the problem was. Chris was also very kind + patient when I had quite a few questions. I will be returning soon to get the other tire replaced!

Everyone I encountered were wonderful! The gentleman that checked me in got me right back to one of the mechanics. They took care of everything in less than 30 minutes without an appointment. My…read moreinteraction with them leads me to believe that the deceptive business practices I (and apparently others) encountered come from higher up. I can only assume that a business that takes advantage of it's customers takes advantage of it's employees in whatever ways it can also. My specific case: I had a screw in my tire. It is a relatively new tire with plenty of tread left and the screw had planted itself between the tread, not in the sidewall. When I took it in just before closing the person working the counter said they could plug it for me no problem if I left it overnight, and wouldn't even charge me for it. "Too kind! Thank you" I said, thinking that is how you generate loyal customers. The next day I had a message saying that they couldn't repair the tire. I called them up and they said something about the angle of the puncture, it sounded half baked. The person on the phone didn't sound completely convinced themselves and like they had a script for the "Snap Financing" they should try to steer me towards to pay for two new tires (so they'd wear evenly). After politely declining to buy new tires from them they were willing to re-inflate my damaged one so I could drive away. when I took it to another local shop today they were able to plug it no problem. I even asked if there was anything unusual or any reason at all they might have suggested I get new tires. The guy who did fix it basically said "If I wanted you to spend $500 you didn't need to today I could have tried lying to you too." in actuality he just said "Nope, it was a simple plug." Two stars for friendly employees who hopefully find something better when this place hopefully goes under, like it deserves to in my estimation.
