Throughout my search for a wedding gown, I visited bridal salons in Philadelphia, New York City,…read moreAustin, and the surrounding suburbs. Unfortunately, the Wedding Shoppe was by far the worst experience I had. From the moment I arrived, the level of unprofessionalism was shocking. I now understand and agree with many of the one-star reviews here. The sales staff were not only dismissive, but outright rude both in person and over the phone. During my appointment, the consultant repeatedly interrupted my mother while she was trying to ask simple questions about the dresses. When I expressed that I wanted a few moments to step back, talk with my mom, and think about a gown I genuinely loved, her demeanor shifted noticeably. Instead of being supportive during what should be a special and thoughtful decision, she became cold and visibly annoyed. What made the experience even worse was the condition of the salon itself. For a place that presents itself as high-end, the environment was incredibly disappointing, the space smelled musty, and the bathroom was unclean and poorly maintained. While the store carries beautiful gowns from reputable designers, the experience of purchasing one should match the quality of the product. Unfortunately, the way this salon treats its customers reflects poorly on those designers. I would strongly discourage anyone from booking an appointment here. Wedding dress shopping should feel exciting and special, this was anything but.

I had an incredibly bad experience here--I couldn't believe how unprofessional and downright mean…read morethe saleswomen were. Within minutes of walking in, my sister overheard one of the saleswomen making a very snobby and unkind comment about how I was dressed (wearing a very nice blouse and jeans--I guess I was expected to show up in a formal gown?) Unforgivably, they treated my mother with incredible disrespect. They acted like she was some kind of peasant, making endless comments about how pricey THESE dresses are, so maybe we should look at this rack instead? We had an appointment to look at bridesmaid dresses, and while we were perusing someone actually went up to my mother and asked, "Are you shopping, or just dreaming?" What a miserable person. You really would have thought we were on the set of Pretty Woman, not an upscale bridal shop. Just shameful. I never got the chance to give them a budget, but they immediately assumed we were shopping out of our league. I had been to the store before, I knew very well what to expect. Save yourself a miserable time and skip this shop. My mom and sister drove in from out of state to get some wedding planning done, they ruined what was supposed to be a nice day and made us all feel humiliated and judged. Note: I confronted our sales associate and another employee before we left about her awful treatment of my mother and their repeated insults. Nothing was done, no apology was offered. This wasn't one bad egg having a bad day, this is the accepted culture of that shop. Stay far away.

I had an extremely unprofessional experience with this business…read more I dropped off materials to be altered and was told that an invoice would be sent later that same day. The invoice never came. After hearing nothing for an entire month, I had to call the store myself just to find out what was going on. During that call, the staff seemed confused about my order. The person I spoke with apologized and acknowledged that the store had failed to send the invoice as promised. Despite their mistake and the lack of communication on their end, I was later told they would no longer work on my materials. This was completely unexpected and very disappointing, especially considering I had been patient throughout the entire process. What made the situation worse was the tone and lack of professionalism in the response I received when trying to address the issue. As a customer, I should not have to chase down basic information about an order that has been sitting with a business for a month. At this point, I have asked that my materials simply be returned in the same condition in which they were dropped off. I strongly recommend that anyone considering using this business be aware of the poor communication and lack of professionalism I experienced.

No estimations were provided at the initial appointment. I knew I was going to pay more than alterations at a dry cleaner, but I was beyond shocked to find out that alterations for two dresses was $620! Upon receiving the bill to my email before the pick-up appointment, I called to inquire. He was charging $69 alone to add a spaghetti strap to my daughter's dress from leftover material taken from the dress itself! I would not recommend SewRob to anyone unless you like the feeling of being ripped off. Highly disappointed with the entire experience.

When we arrived at our appointment we were warmly greeted by Maria and Nicole. We discussed styles we had in mind, and styles we were open to trying. The quality of all the dresses surpassed what we'd seen elsewhere, and there were many more unique and sophisticated designs available.
