I got my dress from La Bella Moda only 6 weeks out from my wedding and they were amazing! I was so worried about not finding a dress that I really loved in such a short timeframe but I fell in LOVE with my dress. Gabriella was so helpful. I had the most positive experience shopping for my wedding dress at La Bella Moda! They have the cutest dresses in a reasonable price range and I love how they can do the alterations in house. Also loved how they sent out a google form prior to your appointment saying the dresses you liked from their website/socials because it really helped the staff select dresses that fit my vision. I was the only bride in the shop when trying on dress (which I believe is the standard there) so it felt so special. I went there to purchase a mother of the bride dress. I did find a lovely dress to purchase and they told me to come back in April for alterations. Then my neighbor happened to tell me that they are only doing alterations on bridal gowns. When I called them about it they got nasty with me and said they told me at the time of purchase which they definitely did not. My daughter was there and she remembered the conversation verbatim. Someone did call me back and said that for them to do the alterations I would have to have them done by January 1 but that's not what they originally said. Then they told me the dress was in stock and would come soon. They never called me so I called them one month later to inquire about the dress. They said they had it! Why didn't they call me to let me know? When I finally picked up the dress it was all wrinkled. When I asked why it was like that, they said my alterations person could steam out the wrinkles. For a dress that cost over $600 I expected decent if not good service. I would not recommend this store to anyone even though they have pretty dresses. read more

This review is long overdue as I was married 2 years ago. I was extremely pleased with LBM from start to finish. While I didn't select my wedding gown from them because a friend of the family designed mine, all 8 of my bridesmaids purchased their gown from them and were each custom fitted in house. The owner and her grand daughter were so nice and accommodating with each of my bridesmaids. Another plus was that the price on the dress I selected was offered at a significantly lower price at LBM than any other surrounding bridal shop- and I went to 9 in the area before selecting them. I loved the information they collected ahead of the appointment, because I was worried we would eat into my 90 minute appt with discussing likes/dislikes, but the communication ahead allowed us to get right into dresses. I brought my bridesmaids dress shopping here after being referred by a friend. The shop was one of just a few in the area carrying the specific bridesmaid dress collection I was looking for. Unfortunately I had a rather unpleasant experience. To start, the consultant brought us over to the selection of dresses from the designer I wanted and asked me my fabric preference. I told her I wasn't sure and she insisted that I decide on a fabric first because the girls could not wear varying fabrics. I had to insist that I let the girls try on multiple kinds of fabric so that I could decide what I liked and that deciding right then and there in front of the racks was unreasonable. I had just gone shopping with my sister for her own wedding and did not have this experience at all. The consultant also kept making style recommendations that were a bit out of style and not at all my taste. Rather than simply guide me through the process, she was a bit bossy and opinionated which made the interaction awkward. These are all things I could have been okay with though, but after the shopping trip I found out from my girls that the consultant did not help them at all. They continually had to zip themselves in while she stood down the hallway with her colleagues discussing her kitchen remodel. We ended up going to another shop later in the day with the same dresses and very similiar price point and were MUCH happier with the service. We shared our previous experience with the new shop and they were a bit surprised to hear about our interaction at La Bella Moda. Perhaps La Bella Moda caters more specially to brides shopping for their own gown instead of the bridal party? Either way, I would not go back here again nor would I recommend the shop to a friend. It was the first place I went to and I found my dress! Colleen was my consultant and it was like hanging with one of my girlfriends. She listened to my feedback and with each dress we got closer and closer to the one. She let me walk around the upstairs to catch my dress in different angles and it was in those moments I knew I was saying yes to the dress. I came to La Bella Moda looking for a wedding dress. I had not tried on a lot (only had one previous appointment) but i know what i like and what I don't like. I do not like 99% of the dresses out there and i do not want a standard gown. La Bella Moda had the largest variety of more untraditional gowns, and probably 75% of everything they had was just different from what you would find in a norma bridal shop. They're definitely wedding dresses, but they're not your average run of the mill / i-think-ive-seen-this-before type of dresses. My appointment began with Gabriella, who is the nicest person and someone i just want to be friends with IRL. One of her strengths is identifying a style based on a celebrity- if you say you want Audrey Hepburn or something specific for inspiration shes your girl. She took me to the back to look at their selection and just to haul dresses- i got to choose the dresses any of them / all of them it was great. It was so much easier to just go through one by one with her and say "i know im going to hate this" or "this type of neckline looks horrible on me." This was the best way to pick dresses for me and i tried on at least half of the store. I debated between one their and one i had seen before, they were kind enough to order it in for me (thats an option! Cost me 70$ but cheaper than driving to maryland to try it on and i can compare them side by side) and then i chose one and it'll be here in six months. I dont have my dress yet and i havent gone through alterations yet but ill update this if anything goes awry. read more

The selection of dresses here may be wonderful but the customer service is inexcusable. I have two friends who both chose bridesmaid dresses from this shop and I found it nearly impossible to give them my money. Living in DC at the time I found it nearly impossible to get to Conshohocken during their business hours and attempted to call in my information. Key word: ATTEMPT. After unanswered phones, emails, voicemails and lots of bridezilla stressing over lead times I had to come up to give them my money in person. Yep, that failed too. I waited half an hour (after being told "just a minute") then left unnoticed and contacted the bride to be. It took the bride flipping out for me to be able to give the shop my measurements, we then had a dispute about what size to order- I was correct in the end, and then hand over $250. When the dress arrived it fit perfectly but they urged alterations that were necessary. I felt I was being milked for every dollar. Brides - do yourself and your trusted bridesmaids a favor and head to the Wedding Shoppe, Bijoux or even David's. read more

I went to La Bella Moda for a bridesmaid's dress. I had 4 trips total: 1. Find Dress: yep, it was there, but I had to search for it myself since every sales associate was occupied. I tried it on and placed an order. They told me that it would arrive 2 months later. 2. Fitting #1: I waited for about 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment at the front for them to find my dress and put me in a room. The seamstress got there eventually and did a good job. I scheduled a follow up fitting as recommended. 3. Fitting #2/Pick up: This appointment was difficult to schedule, because even though they say that the seamstress is there late on certain days, she's not. "Oh, she's only here until 6 that night... Oh, she's not here on THAT Monday..." I really had to work around their schedule and leave early from work. When I arrived, THE DRESS WAS NOT STARTED. Staff was very apologetic, but there was nothing that could be done at that point. I had to reschedule and plan another trip. 4. Fitting #2/Pick up (attempt 2): Dress was ready, seamstress did a wonderful job. I had to pay FULL PRICE for the alterations ($75) despite their mistake/my extra trip. So I didn't get set back in my search, she offered me to bring a handful home to try on. Here are my experiences Wedding Dress: They let you look through the racks, so that's nice, obviously. However, the saleswoman was impatient and assumed we weren't going to buy one so didn't spend much time with us. I went here because the bride choose the same place for our bridesmaid dresses, as she had bought her dress. I had a horrible experience. The women there were incredibly rude & their craftsmanship was terrible. There were 3 layers to the dress & instead of altering layer by layer, they sewed everything together, including the chifon. It was bunched up on either side & the seamstress told me that was the way chifon was. The total for the alterations was $85, which was WAY too much for the 15 minutes of 'work' they did. My mom had to take the entire dress apart & re-sew everything. There were no bunches, and after my mom got through it, I was very happy. They treated us like we were a waste of their time. It was a terrible experience & I would stray everyone away from this place. read more

Place is a joke. I was in a wedding and this is where the bride wanted us to get our bridesmaid dresses. The day we tried on dresses and chose which one we wanted went great. The seamstress told me I was in-between sizes and to go up a size so I did as she told me thinking the dresses run small. When my dress came in I picked it up and took it home to try on. Well the dress was HUGE!! At least 3 sizes to big. It literally fell off me. Mind you I had to pay extra because I was getting a bigger size. If I took it back they would have to charge me extra for the extra fabric. When I took the dress to the tailor to get the dress taking in, he even was appalled on how big the dress was and that the seamstress should of known better.
