Upstairs in La Bella Moda

I had an amazing experience with Brittany at La Bella Moda!! She asked me my styles and picked out some beautiful dresses! My mom and two best friends came along and we had champagne and cookies while I tried on some pretty lacy and sparkly dresses! I did say yes to the dress and am so excited to wear it for my wedding day!! Highly recommend making an appointment here!! Also, I didn't have to order and wait for my dress, I was able to take it right home!

From the minute I walked into La Bella Moda, I was greeted by Gabriella and Bridget who could not have been nicer or more welcoming. I came in not knowing what I wanted, with just a few Pinterest pics and one I had seen on their website. I was really just trying for fun as I was recently engaged. Bridget was so patient, even though I knew the first dress was the one she listened to my wants/needs and brought out so many amazing options. I felt like like she truly valued what I wanted and stayed within our budget. There was a great selection of sample sale dresses. Gabriella joined in and just added to the great atmosphere. I wish I could do it all over again. Pic of a runner up

I had such a wonderful experience with the ladies at La Bella Moda! From my initial consult through the final fitting, their service and expertise was nothing short of fantastic. Always friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Thank you for helping me find my perfect Pronovias wedding gown (and working wonders on that incredible bustle)!

Going dress shopping can be a bit overwhelming with all of the options but Gabriella was so patient and kind.

Even a few years ago I stopped in, just for memories sake, and the elderly woman on staff remembered me from my childhood days and hoped I'd find something so I'd be back to visit again. (She was so sweet!) Flash forward to now, I donated a few bags of clothes a week or so back. The volunteer on staff was super nice and even offered to help me with the bags (I declined though) It's a quaint little thrift shop in the neighborhood with pretty cheap prices. I'd say for the most part they have a fair amount of baby/childrens clothes and jeans; dresses and women's clothes (at least the styles I'd wear) tend to be a bit sparse. They do have shoes and books as well as a corner of housewares/bric-a-brac. They do have a small window of hours though; I believe they are open 10-2 and are entirely staffed by volunteers! If you're nearby, definitely stop in and say hi!

Probably best to skip this one and head to Buffalo Exchange in the city if you're a hipster though - if this place ever had anything you'd like, it was probably picked through before you were born.

I stopped by a few days ago to check out their new store. It's significantly bigger than Nana's Attic, which means it feels far less cramped. Yay! Still very good prices, the "yellow tag" items are consignment and generally higher priced than the store's donated stock. It about killed my soul to see an awesome vintage salt & pepper mixed in with newer dishes in a consignment lot. Aaah! Staff are great, the store is clean and bright. I'll definitely be back. Note: angled parking in front of the building is NOT free, Pontiac is a public street, and those are pay at kiosk metered spots.

I do not recommend going here. Thrift and Thrive has lost my business after 10+ years…read more As previously stated, I have been a customer for over ten years. I have been a customer at this store since it was called Nana's Attic. Today I was there, looking for furniture. The selection was a bit overpriced for the quality. Suddenly, I needed to use the restroom. The woman working informed me that they did not have a public restroom and that I could go to the Dollar Tree next door. The Dollar Tree did not have a usable restroom. I returned to thrift and thrive because, quite frankly, I was literally about to pee myself. I begged to use the employee bathroom. The employees lied to my face and said that there was no bathroom in the entire store. Yeah right, if that's true, then that's a worker's rights violation, and they would not be in business. I explained that I was having an emergency and they did not care. It really stinks to be a loyal patron of a store, then to be treated so poorly in return. Particularly during a vulnerable moment. There are plenty of better thrift stores in the area with better prices AND customer bathrooms. It's a shame that a store that has such a great mission doesn't provide a great shopping experience.

After a conversation about the place to a friend who shops here regularly, I came to learn just how close it actually was to Philly, and that I pass by the area fairly often. Finally stopped in yesterday and fell in love! Such an awesome boutique packed with goods for anyone from babies to adults! I had no idea they had a completely separate womens' shop! Adorable evil eye bag, embellished denim jackets, rock tees, and small simple necklaces were my favorite items in there. The childrens' section which is attached, but a different room, is such a great place not only for special items for your own child, but for awesome gifts for any child, boys included! Dori Creation leggings, Rowdy Sprouts, tie dye and bling goods were my favorite pieces for kiddos. Grateful Dead and other hippie shirts too! Some trendy toys, fun duffle and cool bags, headbands, even personalized camp swag. Items even for those picky to cool for school tweens! I wasn't too proud to shop the sale rack and bin and even found some cute goods there too! Cheap! Like $10 ana half price! Customer service I found to be wonderful! Not stuffy at all like some boutiques can be. Allison and another women who's name I didn't get were super helpful and sweet. All around great experience! I've been looking for a replacement of my old favorite childrens' boutique which shut down a few years ago. So happy to have finally found it! Yay! Can't wait to head back again next week when I'm in the area again and I have more time to shop!!
