This Thanksgiving my daughter (who seemingly had norovirus) stayed in NYC while I was in Philadelphia. Despite ridiculous crowds T and I went anyway. Anthropologie, in my estimation, is notoriously over-priced, but post-Thanksgiving one can find a "deal." Everything in the store is 30% off. But the piece de resistance -- my reason for going -- is the sales room. 50% off already reduced prices. Yesterday I snagged a butter-soft leather dress originally priced at $328, for $89! If you go this time of year, know: ** The check-out line in Anthropologie is insane. I was there so long, I lost track of the time. ** Guard against pick-pockets and watch your purse. A woman ahead of me ran out, realizing her wallet was gone. ** Parking is crazy. The mall is huge with spaces hard to find. (After going into the Container Store which abuts the mall we walked over, never moving the car.) I like this particular branch of Anthropologie. Probably because S and I are generally successful, my daughter more so than me. (I've clearly aged out of their target market.) Anthropologie's location in King of Prussia mall is good, with Free People next door and Urban Outfitters across the way. Plus there's a big bench steps away for people like T who are left holding their shopper's coats and parcels.

The great WONDER sign, all the fuzzy pom poms in the entryway and then the smell. So inviting, so good! The variety of merchandise and the way it's displayed is so well done. Clothes, jewelry, stationary, beauty and bath products. Anthropologie has it all. Did I mention they have furniture too. If you need something for a lady on your gift list then make a stop here. Anything you pick will be well received, trust me.

The leather is so soft and the heel is the perfect size. I am only 5'1 so I love wearing a heal, but have purchased pumps from other brands and would be in pain by the end of the day. I hate having to walk into work in flats showing how short I really am. I have been looking for a pump that is comfortable and sexy and I found it. Makes your legs look great too! Received so many compliments today. I will be purchasing in a few colors and excited to try your riding boots. Monique Sharp- Kennett Square, PA.

I tried out the brand for the first time in January as they were having a sale. The shoes are…read moreregularly pricey, but figured it was a low key way to check out the brand. I purchased boots, flats, and two pairs of the same heels. None of the shoes, I came to learn, are particularly comfortable once you get to wearing them. The flats rub black dye on the back of my feet which is very difficult to wash off and very unsightly. The heels are narrow, bad angle and rub the back of my feet. I attempted to bring back an unworn pair of the generic black pointy toe shoes.... when I could.... even if it's 6 months later. The employees in store did not seem to want to be helpful about taking back the unworn shoes and cited 10 day policy for returns. Had to speak with the district manager. The district manager also pressed why I waited so long to bring them back -- who cares? The shoes aren't comfortable and unworn...way to stand behind the product and have a customer friendly policy. This is not really the experience or the store for me. The other store employee told me I should have called to tell them the shoes were uncomfortable closer to the time so they could know I'm bringing them back a month or whenever out. Again -- who cares? The shoes don't fit then or now. The ultimate solution was to stretch the shoes or provide me credit towards a purchase on the spot. As you could imagine I walked away not wanting to spend anymore on uncomfortable shoes. No store credit offered. I'm grateful I bought the shoes on sale so the loss is contained. I would certainly be more upset had I bought them full price and come to learn about their fit. I do suggest that folks who consider shoes here really try out the fit, the wear, etc. I personally would not shop here again given the boutique atmosphere, the lacking quality and fit of the shoes for me, and their timed approach to merchandise along with how conservative they are towards customer satisfaction of the product! Your mileage will vary!

And the manager that took over during my alterations mishap at the Springfield location refunded me for the dress that the OTHER location butchered. This allowed me to order a dress in petite, which luckily came prior to the arrival date it said online. Fearful of alteration mishaps again, I just found some massive platform shoes to wear so that I wouldn't have to alter the dress and relive one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I have also since ordered bridesmaids dresses for my friends wedding, and here's some things I've learned about David's Bridal as a whole: 1. Try to know what you want, and select favorites before you go for your appointment, I had been able to try on over 6 dresses during my appointment 2. Go during a weekday in the early afternoon 3. Have the dress shipped to YOU! I don't know if they lose their commission or not if you order yourself online, but it is so much easier having it shipped to you....this prevents the other multiple horror stories I've read about where dresses get sent back because somehow they don't tell you when they arrive. 4. Don't get it altered at David's Bridal. If you read all of the reviews, there don't seem to be any with good things to say about alterations; and I can speak from the experience I had at the Springfield location, it's not worth the stress. Find somewhere you trust who will get it done correctly and not call you the night before saying it hasn't been worked on for five weeks and they want you to give them more time. If you do get it done at DB, give them a different event date that is earlier than your event. They seem to like to push things as close to the day of your wedding as possible, and that leaves no room for error. One thing I have noticed in the reviews is that brides are picking up their dresses the day before their wedding and it's not even their dress, or it's messed up, or not even done, etc. And for goodness sake, TRY IT ON WHEN YOU PICK IT UP! 5. Don't give up, it's your wedding, if a store has messed up your dress, fight for yourself, KINDLY though. I thank god the bad experience I had at the store in Springfield was a couple months before my wedding....because after ordering another dress to replace the one Springfield messed up, I was so happy to wear my dream dress the day of my wedding.

The store was really busy. I was assigned to Brianna who informed me that she also had another client. Brianna helped me pick my dresses based on what I told her I wanted and also made some great suggestions. Brianna set up my dressing room and was very helpful throughout the entire process down to the shoes and earrings. I couldn't tell she had another client because she was right there whenever I called for her. Awesome! Antionique was also very helpful. They both made me feel special. I enjoyed our playful banter, it made the time there enjoyable. I left with everything except a head piece. Thanks ladies. Overall I was very pleased and would recommend this location.
