First, they do accept appointments Tuesday through Thursday and they now have five barbers, so the wait for walk-ins is not as bad as it was when they first opened. Second, this is a full service Barbershop that does everything from your typical crew cut to off the wall skullets (yes that's a cut that people actually request), as well as epic beard skulpting. If you want to go for a couple hours to hang out and enjoy what it used to be like to get your hair cut and have the full experience, 1885 is your place. Finally, I have sat in line for 2 hours and been the last person in the chair and I can tell you first hand that no matter if You are the first customer waiting at 6:45 on a Saturday morning, or the last customer after 7 pm on a week night, every barber here will give you the time and attention to detail regardless of how many people are in line. When I asked the manager, she said it was a $6 add on for cuticle care, or a $10-$15 add on for manicure. I've never heard of them being separated out and they didn't explain that on the descriptions I read prior to choosing. They also just kind of left me after completing the service. No one told me I was done or helped me get out of my chair and to the cashier. Manager saw me sitting and wondering what to do next and just walked away. It's just a shame that places have to upcharge for everything. I'll be going back to my place in Royse City that includes basic nail care in their dip service and who trains their staff to be helpful from beginning to end of service.

I explained that it was my first time there and that I had a few questions about their services. Suddenly, a random girl from across the bar of people interrupted, saying, "What do you want?" Confused, I hesitated, not sure who to address, and she repeated, "What do you want? I work here too." I explained that I had never been there before but generally knew how I liked my smoothies and had some questions. She snapped back, "We don't do fruit smoothies; they're protein-based." Given that the place is connected to a gym, I assumed that was obvious, but fine. I clarified that I was indeed there for a protein-based smoothie, and I noticed fruit listed on the menu. When I asked if they could add fruit to the smoothie, a different woman chimed in aggressively, saying, No fruit at all. The entire experience felt hostile and unwelcoming. I had no idea who I should be talking to or why it seemed like they wanted me to leave.
