I have recently moved to the area from San Antonio and had visited the shop a few times and made a purchase or two. It seemed like a good shop and staff seemed pretty friendly and knowledgable. I noticed they have or had older fireams and unusual things on display rather than all the modern day mall ninja stuff which is such the norm these days in shops. "Gun" shops are very different than when I was younger, I won't go into that as it just dates me, but I did not get that attitude in this shop, refreshingly. I decided to ask for a pretty simple cerakote job from them this week (upper/lowerM4 receiver) and was interested to see how they handled it. They did an outstanding job, they gave me the safe answer of four weeks and quoted me a fair price. they have a very knowledgable cerakote guy and he showed me colors and very carefully made sure he knew what I wanted. I got a call TWO days later that it was ready, picked it up after work. It as perfect. Great customer service, great work. I will definitely return as I have a couple of cerakote jobs in the future. For the record, I am an old retired Infantry master gunner, Ive been stationed here in the 80s and 90s and work here again as an Army civilian, and I'm not that easy to please, so take that for the review. I went in with a bag full of parts and a barrel to inquire about Cerekote. After speaking with Trevor and seeing the work they have done, I went forward with the Cerekote. The price was very reasonable, and the quality was amazing. Unfortunately, 1 piece was misplaced and the owner Daneil insisted on purchasing a replacement himself. I was not upset the piece was not in my bag and I would have been ok ordering it myself because accidents happen, and we are all human. I didn't point fingers and blame anyone, and I did not ask him to replace the missing part. He took it upon himself to make it right. Dont you know I went in the next week after already receiving the replacement part and they found the original part that had fallen off the table. Integrity runs through their veins at RD Guns!! I brought in a rifle that belonged to an Old decorated Navy Veteran From Viet Nam. It was an obscure Korean service rifle that has been out of production for over 40 years and finding parts is near impossible. It had been malfunctionlong for over 20 years and after going to TWO OTHER gunsmiths, it was still broke. R&D told me from day 1 that they would figure it out and get this rifle back up and running for him. That's exactly what they did. They were fast, courteous, professional, and fair on price. Great experience from the moment I got on the phone ! I had been searching for a replacement recoil spring for my Glock 23 gen 5. I called just about everywhere in my area and no one had it. In fact the places I had called before R&D guns kept telling me my best bet was to go online and order one. Thankfully that was not the case with R&D guns. when I called them they told me they indeed had gen 5 recoil springs in stock. I drove over there and the experience continued to be great. I have had three of my guns Cerakoted and a few truck parts. I have purchased four guns from them and many parts and accessories. In my opinion the best business in the area to build an AR-15 right off the shelf. I have had the gun smith check over and fix two of my guns, one of which is from the 1940's. Veteran owned and operated as most of there employees are Veterans as well. Highly recommend this store. They usually have the ammo that I need and are reasonably priced considering the ammo supply and demand. My dad has a .45 that wasnt firing right so i sent him to rd guns to see if they could help. In the process of cleaning and inspecting the weapon they found that it had been spray painted and damaged. They redid the whole pistol the right way and no more problems. I took an old 30-30 rifle that was in pieces and RD Guns was able to order the missing parts and restore it to a fully functioning deer killer.
