Fun outdoor range. Variety of bays with different types of shooting to do in each, from steel targets for pistol, a tactical bay that has barriers set up, to a longer range rifle shooting bay. The RSOs don't nag you but are checking in regularly, which I like because I tend to stay alert and patient when I'm sharing a bay with others. Separate from the range, but on the property, is 19CharlieTactical- aka Mike Cramer, a fine gunsmith that does everything including making custom kydex holsters and slide milling for red dots. read more

Pros: - Friendly and knowledgeable staff - Diverse shooting bays (100 yard rifle, 25 yard zero, tactical bay, license/course bay, pistol bay with interactive targets and shotgun bay) - full-auto firearms available to rent - fun & safe atmosphere everyone contributes to - on site gunsmith for those more pesky malfunctions Cons: - on site ammo is available to purchase, but is inflated just like any other range. Fantastic Range! Very friendly folks at the main building. Quick and easy access for first timers. Prices are well set and if you get a membership, price is reduced from fees and additional products. Range Safety Officers roam the ranges, keep watch and offer advice if needed, but are very nice and not all up on your business like other places. Sections are well maintained are clearly labeled. My family and I spent a few hours there today. Well worth the time and drive! read more

Hands down the best outdoor range ever. What's more awesome than spending Sunday with your children firing off some rounds where they can get in all day for free?! Awesome range! $15 to shoot all day. 50 cents a paper target and they have options . It's kind of in the middle of nowhere but it's worth the trip. Just spend a few hours out there. I brought my own ammo but they sell it there. They also offer classes and I saw one of the guys there shoot and you'll be in good hands read more

Literately the best range I've ever been to. Awesome staff, safe environment, yet totally open to allow you to train properly. Not many ranges have steel targets across pistol, rifle, and shotgun categories. They have a tactical bay where you can advance on targets. They allow rapid fire in the pistol bay(s) (assuming you're being safe). I routinely bring new shooters to get accustomed to firing pistols, the staff and regulars are always accommodating. read more

This was a great range with a really friendly staff. Specifically for newer shooters, this is an outdoor range, so be prepared for the Texas heat and sunshine. Since this range is in close proximity to Ft. Hood, most of the shooters we encountered were veterans or active military who tend to have a good understanding of range safety. As a result, the range safety staff are a bit more hands-off than ranges. They are still very observant, but if you are newer or less confident, I would suggest letting them know so they can give you the level of attention you might need (which seems to be the subject of some of the less positive reviews). This was the perfect range for my husband and I to give more in-depth instruction to our daughter. We can't wait to return and enjoy the range for another fun family day! read more

By far the best outdoor range where you can actually practice your draw from the holster. Price is $15.00 plus tax, for all day. They have a pistol range, shotgun range and a long gun (5.56 and above). They have ammo, targets and hearing protection if needed. I live in Killeen, outside the clear creek gate, it take me like 20 minutes to get to the range, that's only issue I have. But overall it's pretty nice. Also they do have some steel to shoot at for pistols only. (45cal and below). So go out and enjoy putting some rounds down range!! read more

This place is fantastic. Stagnant lanes, open bays, steel, paper, shotgun, ltc classes. It really has everything you could want except a long range section. I drive an hour each way from Austin area to get to this range, and still have been visiting about twice a month. It's also cheap. You spend $16 to shoot ALL DAY. I'm usually there from 9a-1pm and don't have to spend a ton. This is now my go-to range ever since Best of the West was forcefully shut down. read more

Went to this range with a few veteran buddies to enjoy a good afternoon of shooting. We walked into the main building to pay our fees and sign into the range. The man working the desk was extremely rude to us and even acted annoyed to be serving us. We decided to move on and forget about it. Once we walked onto the actual range we found a group of RSO's and asked where to go since it was our first time at the range. They laughed at us, we're very rude about it and then asked us if we were in the military. We responded yes, and they proceeded to mock us and act as if we were idiots. The fat guy who drives around the golf cart is a complete moron, and has no clue what he's doing. I was hit by a ricochet as well. Range is set up terribly, the people are rude, and it was just an overall bad experience. I will not go back, nor would I recommend anyone else going unless they enjoy being made fun of and treated like morons by overweight jerk-offs. -GUEST POST read more

The set up for this range isn't the best. There are no lanes or stalls to separate you and the fellow shooters, which is quite hazardous. You all have to come to a consenus if one wants to shoot closer or further on a line. I was most disappointed today when I rented the 1911 pistol. It jammed after the first shot EVERY time! I was beyond frustrated realizing the weapon was filthy. It was polite of the gunsmith (I forgot his name) to lend me his personal 1911. However, as I signed out, quite upset that the weapon of choice malfunctioned and wasn't taken care of properly by the shop, the female employee stated that the weapon was selective on it's ammo. Which made no sense. She didn't offer a refund nor cared how dissatisfied I was. I won't be back here to shoot. read more

Disappointed. Usually shoot at another range that does things like enforce range safety rules (aka people not playing with weapons, loading them and pointing down range when range is cold) and help to manage crowding at the range by assigning lanes versus here when people are crawling all over you and banging their gun cases into your chair while struggling for one of 8 long distance ranges. Will not be returning and disappointed to waste $32 and change plus a box of ammo for this frustration. read more

1. Kymei H. Then stay away haha my guess is since you had to borrow a weapon you really don't know much about them, by "jam" do you mean it didn't cycle another round? Or do you mean it didn't continuously fire rounds while you kept the trigger depressed? I've been here multiple times and the ONLY issue I've had is the lanes can get a little muddy after bad weather, not too much of an inconvenience though. Most places charge $15 "an hour" but if this place isn't packed they will let you hang around and expend all your ammo. The range safety's are knowledgeable and have ALOT of experience, whether it be military or just civilian experience. Overall, great facility and they have accommodations for almost any weapon system. read more

Great place to exercise your 2nd Amendment privileges! IMHO, these folks are very helpful and friendly. They are very safety conscious, yet interested in insuring your visit is worthwhile. Range safety folks I've interacted with are professional, helpful and friendly. A gunsmith that's very knowledgeable and friendly is also on-site if you have any technical issues. While the drive here is a bit indirect, it's well-worth the trip. I've been to six other ranges in CA, aka "left coast" and here in the Republic of Texas and this one is the best one of them all, from a facility layout, range safety and supervision standpoint. read more
