He was very helpful, empathetic, and resourceful in solving the issues we had. On the construction side of things, Zack is unreliable and slow to respond to issues. There were so many problems I don't know where to begin. When we purchased this shed, we paid for the additional 1 foot taller walls. We also paid a huge fee to have outward swinging double French doors instead of the standard doors. We had to wait two months to have the special ordered outward swinging French doors delivered through Home Depot. Ulrich Barns took care of all of the ordering. The day before they were to build the shed, I called and spoke to Zach (the construction manager) to make sure the special ordered doors had arrived. He told me they had been delivered to Ulrich's warehouse. On the day of the build, when the crew started installing the doors, I noticed they were inward swinging. After several phone calls, I found out Zack used the wrong terminology to order the doors. Another set of doors had to be ordered. 2 1/2 weeks later when the crew came back to install the new doors, I found out they were again the wrong doors!! Finally on the third attempt the correct doors were ordered. Once the crew was done building the loft inside the shed, I saw that it looked unusually small compared to what I had expected the space in the loft to look like. I measured the height of walls of the shed and found out the crew built them 1 foot shorter than they were supposed to be built. "Ulrich Barns" had to send a crew out to tear down the existing shed and rebuild the correct one. Originally, Zack told me he would refund my $1100 for the special order doors. However, when push came to shove, he told me he was only authorized to refund $400 if I kept the "correct" outward swinging French doors or he would refund the full $1100 if I kept the incorrect doors. Finally, after everything was said and done, the shed was finally built correctly (three months after it was supposed to have been built). I had insulation and drywall added. I had painters paint the inside. Then after turning my sprinklers back on the attached pictures of water damage is what I find the next morning! I texted these pictures to Zack and asked him why there was water inside the shed. He said the sprinklers are not supposed to hit directly onto the shed however a downpour of rain would not leak into the shed. What the hell type of logic is that? Anyways, as you can tell by all of these issues, I am not happy. If it was in the contract, I would have them come take this shed out of my backyard and refund my original purchase price. Buyer beware with this company! Next time I'm going back to Tuff shed.

They come back and made things worse did more damage than there originally was they were only doing the floors and damage base boards , door frames, walls. They agreed on making things right came out a third time finally did a decent job , but needed to be out of our house at our own expense weren't wiling to work with us, unplugged cameras we had ( even our baby's camera we use to watch while he's sleeping) , very rude and rain up our electricity bill. Here is my update with Ark Ranch Construction. Last November, I made contact with the owner to…read moreredo the flooring in the kitchen and breakfast area. We had agreed on the cost and the floor material to be used. After a day or so, it was very evident this company had not done much floor replacement. The scuff marks on the new floor near the refrigerator and washing machine is deep enough in to floor material that even with an electric scrubber, the scuffs could not be removed. The transition point from the walkway to the kitchen has been loose and the screws on the metal plate to the back door is protruding at least 1/3 inches which is dangerous specially if one is not wearing slippers or shoes. I made contact early on there were issues that needed to be fixed but the mistake I made was paying him in full as I have gained his trust based on the previous work done in remodeling the kitchen. In addition to the flooring issue, I had him repair the master bathroom shower where the grout needed to be scraped and regrouted. After the work was done, again I paid him in full. However, a few days later, using the shower, the newly installed grout was coming off and somehow a water spot on the drywall started to appear. I have called him, texted him several times. There were call backs or email responded. It was for sure frustrating. I have learned my lesson. In the future I should make the final payment when I am absolutely sure the work has been done properly. This is my updated review, from a 5* review 2 years ago to a current 2* review. Be aware of this company.

We compromised when we bought our new house that in order to get the one I wanted, it would need…read moresome major updating. We ended up taking out an fha 203k loan when we purchased to get a jump start on the biggest projects. We had contacted 4 businesses in town for bids. 1 said they couldn't touch a kitchen for less than $50,000. 1 never showed up to the appointment for estimates. 1 was 3 hours late and then bid us very general figures and wouldnt get specific. DA construction was the only company that broke things down line by line, had reasonable pricing, and a personable project manager. We ended up going through this process to get the loan and needed lots of signatures and stuff from the company. Our project manager was always really polite and never complained even when our lending agent dropped the ball and created delays, extra paperwork, etc that effected our project. We ended up deciding on a kitchen remodel, a closet remodel, a new sliding door to the master, and a few other very minor tweaks (adding a few outlets, etc). I had a vision that was pretty good, but we worked together to brainstorm a few of the design solutions that I'm absolutely loving! We were working with a fairly tight budget and I'm also really hands on when it comes to DIY (I like to do some of my own house stuff! It's part of the fun) so we installed the floors, painted the walls, bound the appliances we wanted, and did most of the baseboard ourselves. DA did everything else and I love the way it turned out. There were a few delays and minor bumps along the way, but our project manager ALWAYS made sure we were happy with the end result. Overall it was a good experience!
