Mr. Fix-It has been a blessing for me. I found them at the Home and Garden Show a few years ago and they have done several projects for me since. Each service person has been professional, courteous and reliable. Most recently I was having an issue with my sprinkler system. Based on the work they have done for me in the past, I immediately contacted Mr. Fix-It to help. I spoke with Jim, the owner, and found him to be an honorable person. He found the right guy to do the job. Since the young man making the repairs was still in his apprenticeship, Jim even personally came and supervised him. He did a wonderful job! Each job Mr. Fix-It has done for me has been efficient and fast. Their pricing is always competitive and communication has been good. Mr. Fix-It provides an array of handyman services. I appreciate that they are honest. All the work they have done for me has been done well. I highly recommend them if you are looking for service providers who are honest, professional, courteous and reliable. read more

mr. Fix it has been a wonderful company to work with. Honest and trustworthy. I would call them any time.

Jim Witmyer DBA Mr Fix it, I hired to attach a security screen door, as he was working Witmyer ruined my jam, look at photos. I thought if I painted over it, that would help. As you see from one of the photos the screw Witmyer put in made the gauge. Witmyer said he guaranteed his work on his site. But when I called Witmyer back Witmyer refused at first. I had to threaten him with a lawsuit before he agreed to come. And it was at his convenience. Mr Fixit finally came by and repaired the damage, except for Witmeyer left paint splatters on my house wall uug, please see photo. I told him he didn't have to paint. But he had to anyway. I need to repaint that spot now uug. Don't understand why this Mr. Fixit guy is so popular. He charged me $500.00 for this, he was going to do this right!!. read more

A flight of stairs in our two story residence was significantly damaged (gouging, scraping and scratching of individual steps) during a recent move of a heavy metal chair from upstairs to bottom floor. I had called on Mr. Fix-It over the years for repair and / or the construction of a variety of projects in and around our home and was consistently pleased with his completed work quality and the particular projects' pricing. In this instance of repairing several damaged indoor stairs I called on Mr-Fix It once more. I was given a price quote that I reviewed and considered a reasonable quote for the required labor and the replacement of the damaged individual steps on the stairs. Mr. Fix-It insisted on only superior quality of materials that met his high standards be used. On at two instances, due to improper fit and or substandard construction materials, Mr. Fix- It refused to accept the supplier's replacement steps. On his insistence, top quality and properly matched materials did arrive from his supplier. Mr. Fix-It's team of skilled craftsmen immediately turned to and replaced the damaged steps with the new steps. The replacement steps are attractive, excellent quality steps that matches well with the existing undamaged stair steps. I was very pleased with the work quality of Mr. Fix-It's team of skilled craftsmen and would not hesitate to call on Mr. Fix-It again for my home's constriction and / or repair needs. read more

I had three electrical outlets go out in my kitchen the week before Christmas. My brother recommended I call them and I'm so glad I did. Both Erin and Jessica were so kind and patient as we tried to find a time for their workers to come out with my busy schedule. Willet and Kevin came out. they were friendly and professional. They got all three outlets working and Christmas dinner was saved. Thank you so much! I will definitely be using you again! read more

We have used Mr. Fix-it on several separate repairs/installations in the past year. Their level of professionalism and attention to detail is incredible. From the moment you call to their office, you are greeted by Erin, a very friendly and helpful lady. Then, the professional assigned to your project (construction, plumbing, electrical, etc.) arrive ON TIME and present themselves well. They may not be the cheapest in town, but I guarantee you that you will get the job done RIGHT and will not hesitate to call them for your next repair and or installation. read more

Responded in a timely manner to install a couple of screen doors. The tech did a good job on the installation although the job took longer than expected. Future customers should be aware that they are quite pricey... $149 for the first hour and $89.50/hr after that. read more

I moved to Bakersfield in April. My husband was admitted to the hospital right after and needed a handyman to help hang curtain rods. Erin was very helpful and sent out Thomas to help with hanging up and installing my rods and curtains. I also needed to have filters for my ceilings. They are 9 foot so I could not get them. When the filters came in, I found some other things that I needed help with. They are always helpful, professional and kind. I recommend them and will be using them in the future for any projects. Got their name and number from Home Depot. I contacted them right away and sent pictures and videos of the my laundry room where I just needed my pedestals put under my washer and dryer. They said they've give me a quote. Waited over a week for a reply. Texted them again and no reply. Called and was told someone would get back to me with a quote. No reply. Such poor customer service. After reading other reviews, I will not be contacting them again. Awful business practice. read more

Nice people. However, they could not make it to our consultation "due a to personal emergency". This is after I waited 1.5 weeks. Called three times to reschedule with no communication. Once I got a home of them, they tried to reschedule a consultation 1.5 weeks later. Seems like I am not the only one that has had a missed consultation. Bad Management. read more

I am so grateful that I found Mr. Fixit at the Home and Garden show. I had some cabinet drawers that were in real bad shape. I did not want to do a complete counter and cabinet replacement since the property is a rental. I contacted them with the pictures that were requested. Got a great quote and one of the technicians came out, got the drawers and rebuilt new drawers. I am really pleased with the work that was done. Josh did an excellent job and I love the finish product. I definitely will be using this company for future projects. read more

Mr. Fix It is awesome! I had several projects that needed to be completed and they gave me all the information I needed to purchase the correct products. Jim was able to complete my four ceiling fan installations (one in the family room, two in the kitchen, one in my dining room) and install the baseboards in my living room and dining room all in one day. I wanted to add to my previous review... This company is amazing, Jim the owner and his crew work hard!!! They have been doing all handyman work for us 2 or 3 years now and I can throw anything at him and he delivers. There are times when I have very tight time frames and they always come through for us. I can call him for emergency service and they are on it. We are going through a remodel at one of the two buildings he does work for me and they have stepped up and fixed a lot of items the contractor didn't do well. No job has been too small for Mr. Fixit. I can not say enough great things about this company. if you want someone reliable with great customer service and stellar work, you can't lose with Mr. Fixit. They are a life saver to me in many ways!!! read more

I would be able to give this company a proper rating if they actually showed up. I went through Home Depot looking for a project to be done and they reached out to us. We set an appointment about a week later and they never showed up. I basically wasted my time. I could have gotten someone else to come in and could have possibly started the project but since mr fix it had such good reviews we went ahead and waited a week for their next available day. Again, they never came out or called. As we waited we called and no one ever answered. We will be moving on. What a shame that they wasted our time. read more

I am so very impressed with this company. Mr Fit-It operates exactly how a business should : They are quick to respond. Provide a free estimate (and that was exactly what I was charged.) Pricing is extremely fair. The people are professional, courteous, respectful of your time and home, and they go out of their way to clean up everything after completing their work. We live in an older house where things are starting to break and need repair work. I have been paying a fortune to a home warranty insurance company in monthly charges and actual service fees because I never knew who to contact when there was a problem. Well, good-bye to those unnecessary bills, I will be using Mr. Fix-It from now on. This is one business that I am proud to recommend. read more

Don't be fooled by their warranty claim. Had this company out 3 days after Ian to reset my garage door. The side cables had come off the spools and the door was wedged. The service tech did this work that day and in closing told me there was a 6 month warranty on their work. Two months later same problem, door wedged and the cables on the side spools came off. Same tech came out and this time told me not only was the door problem different the warranty did not apply, and they only have 30 day or 1 year warranty. I explained the conversation we had that I was told 6 months on the work he himself did and the problem was exactly the same. He called the owner out of ear shot then came back and told me it would be 125.00 more. Don't trust what they say, and the workmanship leaves a lot to be desired. After researching the issues I've learned that the most important issue with these large heavy doors is the balance. I believe this balance was never right after they repaired it. The door made all kinds of noise every time it was opened after their repair. Leading to the same dislodging problem. If it was an option, I would rate 0 stars. read more

I have used this guy a lot!! I am so disappointed and pissed off that he screwed up on my shower glass measurements, to where there's a gap and water gets on the floor!!! Then in one bathroom where we had him change out our tub to a shower, the drain won't unscrew and come out. I called him out and he finally came out to take a look at it. He told me he could fix it the next day. No show no call!! He ignored my calls for over two weeks! So I finally called someone else out!! I do not recommend this company at all!! Never again!! read more

I needed to have the gates to my house repaired, and needed it done before the weekend. Jim and Dave were able to come within the time I needed which saved me a lot of heart ache and stress. Jim and Dave were very professional, courteous and got the work done on time and within a considerable price range. Very good quality work - I highly recommend them for any odds and ends around the house you need done but can't do yourself. read more

We called Mr. Fix It out to our home to have some repairs done and remodel.. Jim came out, talked with us, took tons of pics. Jim was nice and friendly at the time. A few days later he sends me an e-mail stating my home was too old for him to work on.. I feel like he wasted my time but not just stating that when we met up with him and saved his time and mine. Maybe my projects were to big of a hassle for him to do.. read more

I can't give an opinion of their quality of work for they never showed up. They came to my home, took note of my job request and promised to email or call me with a quote-I never got it. They never reached out to me. This has been my experience with handymen in Bakersfield- a flaky experience. Perhaps they didn't want to do my request, but I'm mature enough to be told so. Perhaps I fell through the cracks- with multiple handymen. Perhaps a handy woman would be more efficient and reliable. read more

This service provider was AMAZING. We decided to sell a piece of rental property and needed some general "touch-up" repairs done very quickly. They accommodated that very promptly and capably. Then, when there was a last minute electrical issue, they stepped in and fixed it right away also. Very easy to work with - prompt, very capable. Did what we needed and when we needed it. We would not hesitate to call on them again. read more

Great work. Handiman came on time and finished all the jobs within an hour. I would call him again for sure.

I am so thankful for Mr. Fix-It! Jim was sure to explain his services fully. The crew he sent was professional and courteous. They called before to let me know they were on their way and on time. They did everything I asked: painting the garage, building furniture, hanging pictures and drapes, installing ceiling fans and mounting our TVs and hooking them up. They helped make my house a home! I highly recommend this company! Five stars all the way!! read more

Had a large remodel done on our house and while the work was good, we are unable to get the project finished due to a lack of follow through on Jim's part. It has now been almost 7 months since we have been in the house and we are still waiting on the completion of our front door after receiving an unfinished door (not what we asked for) and 2 months of silence after the last time we were told it would get done. We are pretty much done asking because there is a lack of professionalism and consideration, considering the amount of money we spent with this company! We are also still experiencing electrical problems, and had to call to get our fireplace fixed after he repeatedly told us he would Handel it. I would advise not making final payments until the project is finished to your liking. I am giving the two stars to his workers since they did a good job on their part. read more
