Instead, Jim and his team allowed exposure of the fascia to debris and elements causing fascia board to warp - less than one year after install! He came and replaced fascia once - without making any change to his original method - of course, fascia warped again less than one year later! Sloppy workmanship! Not once but twice!! He walked away from the install problem and placed the blame on everyone else...all this after paying over $12K .

Jim gave us really insightful focus on where in our this could work. He laid out really beautiful plans that were representative of how the finished product looked but honestly, the finished product is even more amazing than we had realized it would be. Jim is experienced and knowledgeable. Jim's team is excellent and very hard working and he and his team are responsive to concerns. As with any project, unexpected things arose, and they all got dealt with. The finished costs were within ten percent of the estimate, which having had several other large projects done on our house, is within what I expect as reasonable, especially in context of providing estimates during times of rising building costs and supply chain delays. He was accurate in timeline of how long project would take and was honest. In terms of the quality of the work... Months later we are still AMAZED at how well it came out. We, at Jim's suggestion to consider, elected EZE breeze windows to make it a 3 season Carolina room that will be usable during pollen season. We spend time out there everyday and eat a lot of meals out there and will for decades to come. Years ago, we got good advice from a contractor who is going to remodel our bathroom. He told us there would be times during the project where we would all be angry with each other, which is normal when you are spending a lot of money to do something to your most important financial investment, which is also where you live. That advice helped us through bathroom renovations. It also helped at the couple of times when I was upset with Jim about things that are pretty typical during a project. We communicated with Jim rather than let things fester and things got handled very smoothly. I would advise anybody was asking to strongly consider using Structurally Speaking to do a deck or porch project and, whether you hire them or someone else, communicate clearly when you have concerns. If you hire Structurally Speaking, Jim will make sure to address your concerns and you will be thrilled with how your project comes out.

I had Masonite siding on my house that was nearly 30 years old. I had a lot of damage and needed…read moreto replace large sections of the siding and paint the entire home. Bill Sword came over the same day I contacted him and proposed replacing all the siding with Hardi Siding, repairing all damaged trim/window sills (with PVC as required), replacing front gutters and painting. Bill's estimate was fair/reasonable compared to the other estimates (I got 4 others). He took us to visit some of the jobs he had in progress or had just completed and we were able to speak directly to the owners. Bill's crew was able to start earlier than promised and completed the work in the promised window, even accommodating a short vacation we had planned during the project. The crew was extremely professional and efficient. The quality of work was excellent. I feel that the exterior of my home is better than when it was new. After a few weeks there were a few minor things (I stress minor) we noticed, contacted Bill and he sent a crew out and fixed everything. It's not often I write reviews, but I was extremely happy with not only the work that was done on my home, but how easy Bill made it for us. I would recommend him and his crew without hesitation.

Several people in my old neighborhood recommended Sedaris Hardwoods. This company has been serving…read morethe area for years. If I had not spoken to former customers, I would have passed this business by. Things to note: - The communication, payments and scheduling were disjointed and I do agree with Crystal W., the previous poster, on this point. Based on my experience, I would recommend that this company hire an office manager or some type of scheduling/accounting assistant to manage scheduling and billing. Paul appears to manage it all himself and communicates mostly through texts after 9pm, though it is possible to get him on the phone during the day. - Have Paul come out and do the consultation and have everything ready and prepared for your estimate 3 months in advance when you want to get on the schedule-the business is busy and you'll likely need some lead time before getting on the schedule. - For our experience, we paid 50% for the flooring and then the remaining 50% a couple of days before installation. This was done directly with the flooring vendor (not Sedaris); the Sedaris crew will pick up the flooring directly from the vendor prior to installation - Sedaris installation crew were phenomenal-I give them 5 stars. They worked hard, were polite, and made sure everything was clean when they left. - We had one hiccup where the measurements that Sedaris did at our original consultation for our pricing fell short and didn't account for enough flooring-1 or 2 additional boxes of flooring were needed in the laundry area. In the end, Sedaris agreed to pay for the additional flooring and we paid for the additional labor. We felt that this was a fair arrangement and were happy with how that issue was resolved. - After the installation and final payments, we had a question about cleaning some paint stains in the floor (done by separate vendor) and Paul was prompt in giving some helpful tips-I appreciated his helpfulness even after our official business was over. Despite some of the communication challenges with scheduling and billing, if we were to get our floors done again, we'd hire Sedaris. We love our floors.

ROCKin'teriors couldn't stick to a single promised date, installation was delayed repeatedly with zero proactive communication. We had to reach out over and over just to get basic updates. When they finally did answer the phone or respond to emails, it was nothing but a rotating list of excuses: they're a small business, an employee was injured and needed surgery, and the owner even told us they had a bigger out-of-state job that took priority. Once they had our 50% deposit, customer service became unresponsive and dismissive. There was a complete lack of professionalism, planning, and transparency throughout the entire process. At no point did they show that our job mattered to them. The final product may look fine, but the experience getting there was so poor that there is zero chance we would use them again or recommend them to anyone.

He didn't try to upsell us to more expensive products, instead he suggested options that were a good fit for the style of our house, our personal style, and our budget. We ended up choosing shades for all windows, except a master bath window where we decided on a shutter. Patrick helped us with fabric and color choice. Communication about when the products would arrive was great. During installation Patrick pointed out a few shades that weren't working correctly so he put up temporary paper shades on those windows and ordered replacements right away. Patrick was professional, friendly, and had lots of suggestions about restaurants and activities in the triangle area. We are very happy with the window treatments that Patrick helped us choose and I highly recommend Ewald Interiors of the Triangle.
