Requested a refund for the period if time he didn't do anything and he refused. To be fair I requested he do the filter after firing him but he declined. Been in my new home not even 3 month, prior to buying this house the pool was beautiful, blue, and clear, hired this guy to clean my pool and all of a sudden my pool is unsightly, gloomy, and not clear at all. I paid him up front to clean the filter per his expert recommendation but the pool kept getting worse and He stated that my filter was no good and I needed a new one which he could get for me for the low price of $1200.00!!!!. Long story short, I cut his services and I hired another pool, this new pool came and immediately new that I had ripped cartridges in my filter, tested my water and absolutely no chlorine in my pool and also that based on the pressure on the gage that the pool filter had not been cleaned. He sent out his tech the next day and low and behold, upon opening the filter found 2 damaged cartridges and confirmed that the filter had not been cleaned. I have reached to Pablo at RC Pools and he stated the washed my filter and that I had seen all the work that he did to my pool, we'll that was a lie cause I never got to see what he did since I work in the valley and don't get till around 5:30-6pm, I asked for refund for not cleaning my filter and asked to explain how it was possible that he cleaned my filter and not have noticed the 2 damaged cartridges before asking me to $1200.00 for a new filter that obviously did not need. He acid washed my pole 27 days ago and algae started coming back and he said it needed another solution treatment for $350 additional. It's been down for months and we keep asking him for receipt so we can contact manufacturer and he won't forward it to us. He's raised the price couple times and now is charging me $190 per month for maintenance on pool and it's growing algae all over. He Shows up at whatever time he wants and doesn't communicate. My pool looked like it wasn't done. I asked him to give upfront notice of anything extra but wouldn't, and I'd get a bill and pay it. I finally installed cameras to see if he'd show up and nothing. I'd contact him, and he'd say he did in on my way. I questioned if he didn't want to service my pool and his reply, up to you. I still paid him 2 months for no service after that. I would never recommend this company. I cannot believe what he wanted to charge to set up my pool. I had everything needed and the ground was already level since I just took down a pool in the same spot. I am a 60 yr old woman who ended up doing all the ground work myself. I contacted this company based on the great reviews but ended up highly disappointed. I called my pool builder because my spa was empty and I thought it was broken. He said my pool service provider forgot to turn the actuator back on leaving my pump running dry. If I hadn't noticed it I could have ended up with me needing a new pump. That part I can live with, everyone makes mistakes. As my builder was there he said your pool is full of algae and asked when the last time I had it cleaned. I explained I get weekly service. He said there is no way there could be that much algae in one week if being properly cleaned. I texted Pablo asking how could there be that much algae in a week...no response. Pablo answered me the same day. I requested a quote to clean my above ground pool, filter pump and have it ready to swim. He quoted me much higher than the others but he was able to come sooner and he said it will take 2 days to finish. I didn't like he wanted full payment before doing anything. I paid him half when he started and half once done. He started cleaning the pool at 9:30am and he was done at 12pm asking for his payment. He drained the dirty water on my rock and plant landscape instead of the grass and its disgusting with mildew and filth. He didn't fill water inside pool and set the filter to make sure everything was running. I asked if he will add solution or chemicals in the pool and he said no. He did not complete what was requested and my filter was no longer working after he left. I called him a couple days later to fix the filter but he said to buy a new one. The next day I found a GREAT pool guy from a mutual friend who fixed my filter after the damage RC pool services did, adjusted the water chemicals and they had my pool sparkling ready to swim. I have a leak and this company got back to me right away. He assured me over the phone that he had all the necessary equipment to find the leak. When he arrived, he used the dye test only and told me the leak was in a crack on the bottom of the pool and that he could fix it without removing the water. The day he came back, he brought a water pump and told me the water was too cold so he would need to empty the pool. I was ok with this because the water actually needed to be replaced anyway and it was winter- a good time to do it. After he emptied the pool which took all day, he squirted a compound into the crack which was at least 12' long. He filled it and it looks horrible. The crack is now at least a 1/4 inch high because he did not make it flush. He told me that it had to be this way because the goo kept going down into the crack. What the heck does that mean? I had no choice but to leave the crack this way and fill my pool because it was getting dark and he said he was done. I was considering hiring him to work on my pool- I have some missing tiles. This guy does not really know what he is doing. I will post a picture of his 'repair' to my pool so you can see for yourself. I plan on acid washing the pool and will have the repair done correctly then. He was very nice so I am sorry to have to post this. UPDATE. So far- the pool has been not leaking which is a good thing but it has only been a few days. There are 2 things that I would recommend to RC. 1) Tell the customer WHY the pool is leaking and to what extent and inform them so they can make a decision about how to handle the problem. 2) let the customer know what the end result will LOOK like as it was quite shocking to see the end result. Overall, the communication was not clear and I think that was due to a language issue. Also, I think that the company is extremely small and they lack great equipment. They are well intending and on time- just get everything clear first and you will definitely save money. read more
