I called NTX at 2:30pm, and someone was here to fix it by 4:15pm. Bill, the owner, was extremely helpful and called back as promised, to give me the status of the technician's expected arrival time. Salvador, the tech, was extremely courteous and professional. He was here for a short period and not only fixed the garage door, but also tightened cables and did some other maintenance related work on the garage door. Pricing was incredibly reasonable. I called and had to leave messages for other garage door repair shops around town before I called these guys (who actually answered the phone). If it wasn't for them, I'd have an open garage door until someone calls me back to schedule an appt. And no one has called back as of yet. I'll save you the trouble - if you need garage door repair, call NTX first. They'll take good care of you.

I went to open my garage last Saturday and the spring broke, after finally seeing what the issue was I was able to get the door open and the car out of the garage. I contacted Jeff and he was willing to come and look at it that day. I told him to enjoy his weekend and come look at it on Monday. I contacted Fort Brothers Garage Doors and specifically asked whether they offered a free estimate…read more I was told yes. The technician first quoted $450 to fix my garage door. I explained that I needed to discuss the price with my wife after she finished work at the hospital. He then offered to do it for $250, but I still wanted to speak with her before agreeing. He later offered to fix the door and install the remote for $100 cash without involving the company. I agreed to pay $100 if he fixed it. After about 5-10 minutes, he said the motor needed to be replaced and quoted $299 to install a new one. I told him my wife and I would discuss buying a motor that evening and contact him the next day. He then demanded the $100 as a diagnostic fee. I had asked for a free estimate, and no diagnostic fee had been disclosed to me before the visit. The garage door was not fixed. We disagreed about the payment, and he called the police. After a lengthy discussion, I paid the $100. I'm sharing my experience so other customers can ask for all fees and the scope of work in writing before the technician begins. I would like the company to explain why I was charged $100 after being told the estimate was free and to refund that payment.
