Timekeeper did an amazing job cleaning out decades of built up gunk, from inside to out. It did take 3.5 weeks to repair (he's super busy). He's a one man show in the dying art of antique restoration. Was quoted 1 month wait on a wristwatch and 2 months on a clock, so be prepared. But, it was worth it! I knew my watch was in gentle, capable hands.

It ran…read morefine for 15 years after John's Clocks (now retired) got it running back in 2009, but it had taken him one overhaul and 10 follow-up visits to get it running smoothly. Fast forward to spring 2025 when I tried to adjust the timing myself and ended up breaking a part. Based on John's recommendation, I called Phil who picked it up and had it at his shop for several months. He had to manufacture a part as well as make numerous adjustments. It took several more home visits and another stay at his shop to finally get it running smoothly. Phil's price was reasonable and although it took a while to get the clock perfectly balanced, he always made it clear I could keep calling him back until it ran smoothly. To other customers, I would say to keep in mind this is not like a 2-hour engine tune-up, especially for grandfather clocks.
