I was really hurting, and they took care of me with such care and professionalism. 1) They were proactive, constantly reaching out to me to make sure I had all of the appointments I needed, and they were always available to speak on a phone call. Their operation is incredibly well-oiled and organized. 2) Everyone from the receptionist, to the lab technician, to the physicians expressed real, genuine concern for my well-being. Their kindness meant so much. And I could see them interacting similarly with all of the other patients. 3) I had seen several teams of physicians, totaling probably 15 medical professionals prior to coming to Rheumatology Associates, and no one could crack the case of what was wrong with me. Dr. Kerouack and Dr. Gartner figured it out immediately, and quickly had me on the mend. I'm so thankful to this wonderful organization! After my first session, I told them that I didn't think my insurance would cover parts of treatment and that I was concerned with getting billed. I asked Dr Zagwyn to confirm with billing that it would only be a $40 copay and she did. Then I get a bill for $300 followed by an email that they had made an error but I was still responsible for the bill. I should also mention that while going through their many stations there is a lot of inappropriate conversation between staff as they "work" on you. There are many other honest chiropractors in town. Very disappointed with lack of transparency here.

When I had a concern recently I made an appointment and was seen without delay, which is a plus. Even if a problem is not life threatening it eases anxiety to be seen quickly and I was. This time the office staff was polite enough, but not very welcoming. Dr Harre was not as attentive as she had been in the past. I felt like my concern was not taken seriously. She prescribed an ointment which I had filled but which had no effect. I was not told to return if there was no improvement, which there wasn't. I went to another doctor who did a biopsy. In the end, my concern turned out not to be a serious matter but treating it with an ointment was pointless. My two experiences, many years apart, were like night and day with this office. If I ever need another dermatology visit I will have to look elsewhere.

More details below, but my experience here was the most professional medical experience I have had for many years - with one minor exception. The first place I went was where my cataracts were diagnosed, but when I called them to confirm my follow up appointment the next year it was not possible to just speak to a person. The second place left me alone in a room for a long time, the doctor asked me no questions and did not seem to have read my history. After a screaming match erupted outside the door, I knew I would not be back. The third try was not lucky either. After more than six months and my pre-op appointment, just days before the surgery I was contacted by an uninformed underling telling me that it was being canceled without any explanation offered. After I demanded that they contact my cardiologist and PCP they tried to reschedule it for deep in the winter. I no longer had enough trust in their professionalism to proceed. While the medical team at Eyecare Medical Group was absolutely A+ at all times and the scheduling office could probably use a better check list. It resulted in a temporary glitch that was worked out quickly and with extreme good graces. In the end I would do it all over again if I had to, but my vision came out practically perfect, so sadly I won't be back. They have created an exceptional template for handling out-patient procedures that the rest of the medical industry would do well to follow. P.S. As I was going in for my first appointment a gentleman and his wife were walking out. Unprompted he told me it was a great place, which proved to be accurate!

So I had PT for a shoulder injury. I work at a doctors office. It is nice to see that their office…read moreis working with pts and COVID standards. Face mask required. Temp checked at the door. Series of questions asked and answered. There is a young man set up at the front taking care of all these protocols. Then waiting area is nicely spaced. While waiting for my therapist I would watch the same young man from the front door go over and clean and sanitize gym equipment stations. He would flip a sign on each piece to show it had been cleaned. Bryan is my physical therapist. Very friendly. He spent a good deal of time getting to the root of the injury and finding the right ways to strengthen and improve my shoulder. He gave me home exercises to do until I return and advised to not over do it.

After waiting AN HOUR after my scheduled appointment time, he burst into the room, no introduction, and immediately started reading off my chart about what hurt on me where. A quick pull and push on my arm, and he declared I had tendonitis. "Do you want a steroid shot or an MRI?" Then a nurse opened the door, told him he had a call, and he abruptly left. He reappeared ten minutes later asking me if I had decided on the steroid shot or the MRI, strongly suggesting I go with the steroid shot, and that I could always set-up an MRI later. I tried to ask about the growth inside my arm (which the x-ray my PCP took clearly showed), but he said "it was no big deal" and he "wasn't worried about it." I tried to ask about the success rate of a steroid shot reducing pain and he said, "I don't know, but people stop calling me so I assume they're better."* I tried to ask if a steroid shot had any side effects or would increase my anxiety/depression and he said, "there's no side effects and I don't know why anxiety or depression would be related to this." I felt like I had no option but to get the steroid shot. So he said, "Okay, great," and left the room again. A PA came in, set-up the shot, then departed. Another ten minutes later, he came back into the room, jabbed me, and asked, "How do you feel?! Better already?! Move it around! Check it out!" I moved it around. I checked it out. It felt the same. "Ahh, well, give it a week and then if you're still in pain in a month or so, let me know," he said, then left for the final time. I was talked at. I was talked around. I was talked over. I'm not sure he ever even knew my name. Maybe he's seen people with pain like mine a hundred times, but this is my first time dealing with something like this. It would have been great to have a conversation with him, for him to have listened to me, for him to have actually looked at my xray, for him to have given me any information (he scribbled down "things to Google later" [his words] for me), for him to have had any bedside manner at all. I understand he might have been very, very busy and he probably needed to move me in and move me out as quickly as possible, but... there's still a tactful way to do that. My dad comes here for his pain/surgeries and he *loves* his doctor; he came with me today and was appalled at the way I was treated. "Glad he's not my doctor," he said as we left. I can't recommend or not recommend Spectrum at this time - it seems like it depends on the doctor you get, and I just happened to luck out. But I will say: it's YOUR health. And if you don't feel like you're getting the care you need or deserve, find somewhere you do feel comfortable and listened to. *ONE MONTH LATER: I wrote the above the week of my first (and only) appointment. I decided not to post the review until a month had passed so I could see if the steroid shot worked. While less and in a different way now, my arm is still sore/achey. But I guess the doctor did get one thing right: I won't be calling him again.
