Well after getting the first car back to the dealer because The car transmission broke down and the car wont turn on completely . Ray said oh everything is checked and all car parts should be new or 50% new, so we trusted the man on his words. The first car 'Smart Two' broke down on me within the first week of driving. After that, Ray refused to work on it and rather than that he choose to sell it back to auction. Im on my second car again, Toyota Yaris, with him because my down payment was still on hold for the first vehicle ( smart two) , waiting on the street for towing... we called Ray to see what he will say.. and like 95% of all reviews Ray was of course extremely top notch rude, hanging up the phone on us and telling us it s your Problem now deal with it. Not an honest business! Be aware of getting scammed. My old uncle who doesn't speak much English came to this business to do smog on his car. Smog didn't pass because there was a problem with the car. The owner gave him the wrong information to take advantage of an expensive repair that car didn't need. Luckily he went to another place to fix the car and it became clear he was lying. After arguing with him he took the car's key and in order to get it back, we had to call the police. I hoped that this was going to be a good review, but after my experience with Ray and the quality of his cars, it prompted otherwise. I was there about two weeks ago looking at a Mazda3 (stock#: 506205) hoping to get it. He was helpful and understanding, and I had my hopes on getting the car. Ultimately, it didn't work out. I came back this past Saturday, 6/29/19, to look at some other cars on his lot that were more within my budget, and looked at a GTI (stock #: 062062). I noticed that there were cosmetic issues but the car drove and sounded fine. Ray was out of town so his son said he'd have his dad give me a call Monday (7/1/19) to answer my questions, which he did. He was adamant on his price even though the cosmetic issues were expensive, saying that he sold a GTI the month prior which had more miles and costed more, blah, blah, blah. Something told me before I continued, I needed to take this GTI to my mechanic to have a pre-purchase service. Ray was by no means helpful in coordinating that but nonetheless, I got the car to my mechanic this morning (7/3/19). He took a look at it for all of 10 minutes before telling I should NOT buy this car, because the laundry list of issues that there is would cost me thousands of dollars. When we brought the car back to Ray's he was aware of the issues but went into "shady dealer mode," and said that's what you get with German cars. Bought a black 2003 IS300 from here with only 95,xxx miles and it had the usual wear and tear on the exterior with an immaculate interior and a couple dings and scratches here and there but it came with a 500 mile/30 day warranty. i went away happy for a solid week and a half which then the tides changed... i'd like to think it's just a coincidence but the check engine light has come on many times pulling 3 different codes for misfiring cylinders, camshaft position retardation and o2 sensors...conveniently at the end of my warranty. i know that there are many ways of hiding the CEL and getting it to pass smog...it seems almost all too inconvenient. i've only driven it about 450 miles and i'm already throwing away $700. do with this information what you will... read more

Okay.... So I started my car search 2 weeks ago. I've been looking for a 2000-2006 BMW 3 series. I had already looked at a handful, but hadn't found the right one yet. Of course I was searching through every Internet site possible (Auto Trader, Craigslist, Cars.com, Edmunds, etc). Well, I happened to see a black 2002 BMW with higher miles than I would like, but looked decent from the pics and trust me I know my expectations aren't too high, when buying a used car. However, I also do much research when purchasing a car. I check the value (KBB) and also look at comparable sales. Based off the miles, and the condition of the car, the car was overpriced by maybe 1500.... I thought to myself "Not bad. Worth looking at" Well last week I finally called "Rays Auto Sales" and spoke with Ray himself. He was very professional and sounded nice over the phone. He said "Come by. Take a look at whatever car you want even test drive them". Well, I arrive to his lil 12 car dealership. I notice that none of his cars have prices. I introduce myself and tell him that I'm interested in the 03 BMW 330ci that's on the lot. He tells me that the price for that car is "8,900". I told him I saw it online for "7,900" and I was the guy that just called. He said "Oh buddy, sorry, yes, the Internet price is "7,900". I told myself "whatever" I can expect that from most used car dealers, right? Well, I turn on the car and it's idling a bit funny. I call him over and tell him that I would like to test drive it. He asked me how much I like the car. I told him that the car looks to be in decent shape, but I can't really tell until I test drive it. He asked me if I was okay with the price. I explained to him that the price will vary much depend on the test drive. I also explained to him that before I even agreed to a price, I would take the car to a BMW dealership to get a pre-purchase inspection. He said "No, No, No... unless you can agree to the price, I cannot let you test Drive the car".... I was bit shocked, not only because he wouldn't let me test drive it and wanted me to agree on a price, before I even know if the car moves... but because he said it in such a rude tone". I explained to him that I am also in sales and that I would never expect one of my clients to agree to a price before they even understand the product. I was extremely calm and pretty professional as a buyer. I do this, because always think any person I meet could be a prospective client. Anyways, Ray then decided to ask what I sell. I told him I sell real Estate... He laughed and said "You're not a salesman.. try selling used cars. In this scenario. I am number one and you're number two. You would not be able to do what I do"... I got pretty frustrated at this guys attempt to insult me. So I told him "What are we doing measuring each other dicks now. I came here to test drive a car.. and you want me o agree to a price when I don't even know if it runs". He explained that I look like a grinder and he doesn't like to deal with people that want to negotiate or grind him down on prices. I walked way before he could even finish. As I'm walking away he yells "Come back when you know how to do business" The ghetto "inside" of me wanted to punch this guy in the face. I can't believe I was just talked to in such a rude and disrespectful manner. The reviews on the top of YELP are completely fake... It's obvious.. and not because he's Armenian and the fake reviews have Armenian names as well, but there is no way that me and two other people have had very similar experiences and he's "Amazing" to those two line reviews. I have no idea where in the world this guy thinks he can sell cars and have people agree to overpriced vehicles and before test driving. The funny part is that my brother works for BMW and he delivers parts to this guy. When I told him what happened and what lil dealership it was, he said to never buy anything from this guy. He said that he's delivering parts for every BMS car in his lot that is for sell multiple times a week. Maybe, that's why he's not big on having his cars driven... they probably have very few lil miles before something collapses OR maybe he's just the worst car salesmen in the world.. I'm writing this review 1 year after I bought my car, and I still love it. After looking around for weeks at both dealers and private owners and having my mechanic find issues with every car I brought in, I finally found Rays. The salesmen there are straightforward and are willing to be honest about cars that will and will not last. (They actually steered me away from a couple of more expensive cars to one that they thought would be more practical for me, and I'm glad I listened.) The car I found was a complete steal in comparison to the prices of similar cars at other dealers. I've had my Jetta for a year now and the only thing I've replaced is the windshield wipers. I would (and have) HIGHLY recommend Rays to anyone who needs a car. As far as people who are saying that they bought lemons here, my advice with ANY used car is to take it to your own mechanic before buying. At Ray's Auto Sales I didn't feel like I was at a car dealership. I felt like I was at my Uncle's car shop. Ray is not a "salesperson", he's a certified Toyota mechanic. He is extremely knowledgeable about cars and he finds very high quality used cars (I checked several cars on his lot on CarFax). I had been to other dealerships and they were trying to sell me Salvage titles without even mentioning anything. Most of the craig's list used vehicles were just as scammy, with many advertised personally owned vehicles listing incorrect mileage and not reporting accidents in the ads. Ray answered my endless questions and put me entirely at ease. They picked me up from the metro station, just to look at cars! You will not find customer service and quality vehicles like this easily, I assure you. Most importantly, I was on a modest budget and could not afford expensive repairs, or to buy a "lemon". Everyone on staff will take care of you with utmost personal attention. This is a great business and they definitely earned my confidence. I was not an easy customer because I felt nervous and stressed but Ray and staff are both personable and professional. I hope you feel as satisfied with your purchase as I do. Shady. Less than honest. No full disclosure. I spoke to Nick if I could test drive a 2002 Nissan Frontier over the phone. He said, "sure." I drive there 20 minutes later. He tells me that I need to agree to the $7,400 price and dealer fees which total $8,500 before I can even test drive it. Let me ask you which dealer makes you agree to buy the car before you test drive it. The only ones I know are shady, snake-oil, dishonest ones. If you like being taken advantage of, this is the place for you. I priced a 2004 Nissan Frontier with power options in excellent condition and dealer retail was $7,800. This place is a rip off and a waste of my time. I'm going to keep shopping online using autotrader.com, cars.com, craigslist.org, carsdirect.com, ebaymotors.com, autotempest.com, etc. It would still be cheaper and better to ship the car to me than to buy here. I will never come back to this place. By the way he tells me when I get there, that all their prices are firm and they don't take offers. Ray seems nice and honest. Think again. He sold me a car that broke down 7 days after I bought it. The problem was pre-existing according to an independent mechanic. Ray refused to fix the car until I threatened to take legal action. He then gave in and apparently had it fixed but failed to give me any proof from the mechanic that anything was done to the car. Since I got it back it is making new suspicious noises. ALSO I traded in a car which never submitted the transfer of ownership for. He then got a parking ticket with it and refused to pay it. I was referred to Ray's Auto by a friend and I was not disappointed at all. I met Ray who owns the dealership and he was very informative. He was not pushy at all and is an experienced mechanic himself, therefore he answered any questions I had. All cars on the lot are inspected before they are sold. Ray is a great guy and is really there to help you find the car you need. They also have a mechanic shop so I will make sure to take my car to them if I ever need mechanic work.
