My wife and I moved up to NH last year from CT. We had always had cleanings and check up back home…read moreevery 6 months. We made appointments with Hastings based on recommendations we had received. To be objective, it seemed that this dental facility was state of the art, they seemed to have the latest and greatest equipment. The staff, especially the hygienists and assistants were very nice and professional. They were on top of making sure you were always comfortable. What really turned me off (more like pissed me off) was the upsell along with the sales pressure that the woman up front who handled the scheduling. They would seat you with her as you were exiting and she would hit you up with additional procedures that were very costly and certain unaffordable. I tried to explain to them that I had been out of work, and did not have dental insurance to pay for a $1400 under gum cleaning. They eventually cam back with a procedure using a different piece of equipment for around 1/4 of the price, but still insisted I would require the original $1400 procedure within a few months. Well, all the time I am thinking that my dentist in CT had never come up with all this baloney. Meanwhile, my wife get's told that all her fillings needed to be replaced. She questioned this diagnosis and guess what happened? They sent us a notice in the mail firing us as their patients because we did not subscribe to their treatments. Give me a break!!! I'll tell you what, my guess is this dentist needed to turn in his Mercedes for the new Bently that's coming out. I guess he doesn't realize that dental health care is not the same as selling used cars. I do not recommend this practice as I feel they have very low regard for their customers and their customer's financial situations, they just want to soak you or your insurance for all that they can get.

I was told I could no longer use this office without general x-rays. No problem with the dentist, he was competent but recently retired. Experience with the hygienist only fair. From our chats, I disclosed information totally irrelevant to my dental history including noting my religious perspective which was then listed in clinical notes. Very difficult to get directly through to the front desk.

I Had To Stop Work ( Per Docters Orders ) In 2008 Or So. I Use To Be On Medicaid In 2008 or So, But They Threw Me Off Because They Said I Was Making Too Much Money With Medicare, Medicare Told Me I Was Not Making Enough, So It Was A Battle Between Medicaid And Medicare !! Go Figure While I Starve To Death. But That's Not What This Review Is All About. I Have Chronic Nerve Desease Which Almost Every Nerve In My Body Is Damaged !! The Pain Is Horrible. So This Is Why I Had To Stop Working And Lose All Of My Health And Dental Insurance. Way too Soon To Have This Happen To Me. Subject Matter On Dental HealthWorks. About Three Or Four Weeks Ago I Woke Up And Looked In My BathRoom Mirrow And Every Single Tooth In My Head Had Turned Jet Black Over Night. And Then A Week Latter Every Single Tooth Fell Out Of My Mouth. You Want To Talk About Real Pain ? Between My Damaged Nerves And Now All Of My Teeth Just Falling Out For No Reason, ( My Doctor Said An Infection Hit My Mouth At Super Sonic Speed And Destroyed All Of My Teeth ). Before I Became Disabled I Put Thousands Of Dollars Into My Teeth And I Thought I Was Set For Life. ( Man Was I Ever Wrong ) !! So I'm Disabled, Have No Money, Have No Dental Insurance, Have No Medicaid. I Have Nothing Except Medicare, And They Don't Cover Dental Work Or My Shrink I Have To See Once A Month, So I Hear About Dental Healthworks In Keene, NH. I Went And Told Them My Problem And Low And Behold They Set Up with An App. Knowing That I Am Broke And Only Have Have Nine Dollars To My Name. My App. Is On May 1st, 2017. If Healthworks Didn't Care And All they Wanted Was My Money I Don't Have, Healthworks Would Have Never Given Me That App. On May 1st. The People There Were Really Nice, And kind And Very Understanding. The Lady Behind The Desk Seemed Like She felt So Bad For Me And She Did !!! So My Point Hear Is : If your In Dental Hell Like I Am, Go To Dental Healthworks. You May Just Be Surprised At the Kind And Friendly Service I Just Got Today. 4/24/2017 !! I Feel Dental Healthworks Is Some Kind Of Beautiful. I Don't Really Know Where My App. Is Going To Lead, But I Can't Eat, And Need Plates Or ( False Teeth ). Dr. Drower is gentle and friendly and his staff is (was) pleasant as well. Suddenly, I noticed that there was / is a huge turnover rate among his staff (red flag) and there is always someone I have never seen before who looks at my teeth. The major reason I'm giving Dr. Drower a one star review is because for the past year and a half or two I literally have not seen Dr. Drower in person. I get my teeth cleaned three times a year. Dr. Drower does not work on Fridays, and for the past 1 1/2 to 2 years, the staff schedules me on Dr. Drower's day off. Also, there was one time that Dr. Drower was in the office working when I had my dental appointment. My dental hygienist was concerned about what she found on my x-ray but Dr. Drower refused to take a look at my x-ray, even though it showed a possible cavity; in my opinion this borders on malpractice. Sadly, I cannot recommend Dr. Drower to anyone. His practice has gone downhill since I first started going. I'm looking for another dentist, hopefully one who will actually look at my x-rays and will provide dental care for my teeth.

1-Star - Extremely Disappointed with Customer Service and Outdated Policies…read more I'm basing this review solely on customer service. Today, I had an unavoidable situation--my kids' babysitter had to cancel last minute. I immediately called Gentle Dental first thing in the morning to reschedule. Their response? "We can reschedule, but there's a $50 fee." Seriously? What is this--1985? I'm already paying premium prices for care, and now I'm hit with a penalty for a genuine emergency? No flexibility, no understanding, no effort to retain a loyal customer. My family has brought them plenty of business, and this is how we're treated? When did customer retention stop being a priority? When did we normalize this kind of price gouging and corporate coldness? Shame on any business that thinks this is acceptable--especially in healthcare. Rescheduling still brings them business, just not my business after today! Gentle Dental, you've lost a loyal customer. I refuse to be treated like this! FYI! My appointment was for 4pm... I called at 9:30.. that's plenty of time to fill the void!

After Guberman's retirement and not liking his replacement, I went to two who offered special introductory rates, but one prescribed expensive gum work (Aspen) and the other (Family Dentist) a couple expensive crowns then from recommendations I went to Hoffman (he saw neither) and I was satisfied for about 5 years until he retired and upsell resumed with his replacement. I then went to research a couple who were rated as best in the newspaper surveys. Both required an introductory package (Spoonwood $375-with a 3% senior discount and Perry $497-no discount and said they might reject xrays from other dentists). Then I saw Gentle Dental with an intro package of $79 but approached with trepidation foreseeing upselling. But none. And I liked the office staff better than all previous noted. The technician who did the xrays was nice and the most thorough xrays I have ever had. The hygienist was especially cordial and thorough as was the dentist who found my mouth in especially good shape. There you have it. I avoided upselling, found great people, and had a thorough introductory package which supports a senior, fixed income, no insurance budget.
