I was very disappointed with my experience in this culinary program. I waited a long time to…read morereceive financial aid, so when I finally started, I was excited and had high expectations. Unfortunately, the baking program did not provide the foundation I expected. We did not have proper instruction in basic sanitation, food safety, knife skills, or kitchen safety, which I found to be a major red flag. This should be emphasized from the beginning. I also noticed poor practices regarding cross-contamination and uniform hygiene that were not addressed. I did learn a few things during my time in the program, but overall, I felt like I was mostly thrown into the kitchen and expected to figure things out as I went. Having only one instructor responsible for everything made it difficult to receive the individual attention, instruction, and attention to detail that students need. There were times when I felt like I was not receiving a proper culinary education or learning the professional terminology and techniques that I should have been learning. The teacher would also often leave the class because he didn't buy the ingredients we need or the ingredients we had were expired. I entered this program excited to build a strong foundation in baking and develop the skills necessary to work professionally in the culinary industry. Unfortunately, the education and structure I experienced did not meet those expectations. I believe the program needs stronger instruction in sanitation, food safety, kitchen safety, foundational techniques, professional terminology, and proper industry standards. Overall, my experience was disappointing, especially considering how excited I was to finally begin my culinary education.

Cake Life I wanted…read moreit to be made from scratch I wanted real ingredients real sugar, real butter, I wanted the best Ingredients. I wanted a red velvet white chocolate with toffee cake And I wanted it for no real reason at all I just wanted to eat cake. so after I did my searches I found people that claim to make cakes but cannot. Then i found F.I. And I called told them what I wanted and they said yes yes and yes and that I could pick it up and easy Peezy lemon squeezy a few days later Cake Pow - this cake was amazing the chef told me that this cake could feed 16 people. I said challenge accepted we ate the whole cake between three of us. a Couple of months later So then I ordered a vat of chili and like over 25pounds of meat so I didn't have to cook. food prep they called it few weeks later Then I ordered two Keylime pies by far the best Keylime pies I've had. and even more later a few days ago Then I ordered a white chocolate red velvet caramel cake, it is also grandiose. They are so good, I have also asked her to make me the meals from some classic movies I like and wanted to taste Like Ray Liotta in Goodfellas "keep an eye on the sauce" just because now I know a place that will do that just because

I have two young aspiring bakers who had been begging me to learn how to decorate cupcakes. I had been researching for months to find someone local that would offer a class to children and by the grace of God I found Danielle! She did an in home class and she was absolutely fantastic! The class was fun and we learned so much. She was extremely patient with the girls and spent time showing them step by step how to do each technique. Not only is she a fantastic chef, but she is a genuine and kind person. We will definitely be taking more classes with her in the future and I highly recommend using her! Thank you Chef Danielle!

OHI is an education that everyone should receive. I truly believe that if everyone went to a place…read morelike this for this education it would change the world. After years of encouragement from my wife, I finally relented and went on a retreat with her. When we got there I decided that my mantra was "I am here" and committed to it fully. Going to every class I could, following the strict diet, doing the exercises, and on and on. Detoxing from coffee was tough and I experienced massive hunger pains. When that was over I found myself a changed person. Every little nagging health issue I had was gone by Thursday of the first week and I dropped 15lbs. Even things I forgot about. Whether that stays is now up to me. The education they give, combined with immediate lived experience is undeniable and unforgettable. You cannot unsee it. I am not speaking in hyperbole when I say it was one of the most profound weeks of my life. You can go to a hospital to treat individual issues, keep slamming cheeseburgers, treat the symptoms or you can learn how the human body is designed to live and watch it heal itself. If you're looking at this review thinking about it, you owe it to yourself to go. Yes, it looks a bit like grandma's house in a neighborhood in Lemon Grove. Get over it. You're not here to watch TV or laze around in a pool. You're here to do work, so come and do the work and be rewarded. It is an incredibly special place. Also - I went with my wife and I would recommend that couples go together. If one person learns all of this and you return home to someone who didn't learn and experience the same stuff, it's impossible to convey this information with the same impact. You'll probably go back to the old ways when one of you wants to eat sprouts and the other chinese food. It was also a wonderful bonding experience for both of us.
