Jeff also did my fitness analysis and helped me learn about myself on a musculoskeletal level and gave me recommendations on how I can strengthen and tone my body and letting me know what exercises would be best for me while on my fitness journey. I was so inspired that I decided to get a personal trainer. Careca suggested Jordan. Having Jordan as my personal trainer is by far the best decision that I have ever made, fitness wise. He holds me accountable and he encourages me to test my physical limits. Even on the days that he is not training me, if he sees me in the gym, he will ask me what type of routine I am completing on that day and if I am trying something new, he will ask me how comfortable or confident I am during that session. I could not have asked for a better trainer! In the Kids' Club staff is so fantastic! My kids look forward to coming to the gym with me because of how kind and caring Keren, Jamal, Kyndall, and Laina are! The kids always come out with some type of arts and crafts creation and there are toys and games that the kids play with in the open space to keep them active! Some other highlights are the sauna and the recovery room. This location also has an assisted stretching section. I plan on trying it one day. And it is a 24-hour gym! I have worked out with a few personal trainers over the years at various places but Griffin Datcher and his business partners at NPF run a first rate operation. As a business owner myself, I understand the importance of reliability and customer service but Griffin goes above and beyond what you would expect in a personal trainer. I am not a typical gym rat nor am I a hardcore fitness buff. I am mid-40's and grew tired of watching my belly constantly growing larger and decided to do something about it before my unfit body led to other future medical issues. Griffin said he could customize a program that would remedy my circumstances and he did - in a few short months. In over a year of working out at Northwest Personal Fitness Griffin has consistantly shown up EVERY single day of our 4 day a week schedule. Not only is the consistency impressive but my time slot is at 5:00 a.m. due to my own professional schedule. To those of you that workout now or in the past, you will be able to appreciate how rare that trait is to find not only in a trainer but in a fitness facility in general. I see the same dedication from Griffins partners, Leah and Sean, as well as fellow trainer Nancy, each and every morning with their own clients so I know from experience that this kind of work ethic is important to their business model. Although reasonably priced in my opinion, if you are looking for a $19.99 a month gym membership then call somewhere else because you won't find it with this facility. I firmly believe that with any service based business - quality has a price. If you are looking for better health, a better physique, and a reliable and knowledgable trainer, then get off your backside and call Griffin, Leah, or Sean. I know this is a long review but there actually isn't enough space here for me to provide a proper review that would reflect my admiration and appreciation for such dedicated individuals. Thanks for your help Griffin and I am glad to share my experience with anyone looking for a great place to workout.

It's basic equipment. No fancy anything. No Air Conditioning but there was a nice cross breeze. They have 1 washroom if you need to change. You have to come here with a different mind set and expectations. I come from a dance, pilates, and yoga background so getting on a dirty rubberized mat took a little getting used to. (tip: don't wear white tops.) They really encourage you to come as often in a week as possible, to push yourself as hard as you can when you're here. After each time I was here, I felt it for days! They're supportive and instructive, correcting any errors in form. They also have a class just for women which was nice. There are people who really did well here, made friends and they look great but I'm going to try to find another crossfit box that's not quite so rustic. Crossfit Silverback is looking into building their own building instead of operating out of warehouse/garage space. Maybe I'll check them out then.

Rise Gym has a commercial gym side, a powerlifting side, and a strongman side. In the commercial gym, there is an upstairs and a downstairs section. There's already plenty of treadmills and cardio machines downstairs but there's even more in the upstairs area as well as a section for kids to play in. Not to mention, there is a supplement store where you can shop for protein, preworkout, vitamins, healthy snakcs, etc. so I thought that was pretty neat! As a powerlifter, Rise Barbell is hands down, the best place to work out. The powerlifting side just opened this summer and I cannot thank the owner Dr. Sean for providing such an amazing facility for me to train at before I competed at Raw Nationals this year. There are plenty of brand new TSS combo racks and barbells as well as new Rogue Kilo/pound plates. There's also many deadlift platforms as well as one olympic weightlifting section. Aside from that, there is a long strip of turf that separates the powerlifting section from the machines for body builders. Speaking of body builders, there is a posing room so that's another big plus! Inside this building, there is also a Physical Therapy section run by Dr. Sean. Oh yeah, did I mention there's AC too? I've visited numerous powerlifting gyms in the Houston area but none of them had AC so I appreciate how I'm not drenched in sweat just from walking into a gym. Aside from the amazing facility, the staff and trainers here are incredibly kind. I appreciate how they helped host/run fun events for members to participate in! Overall, the amount of hard work and passion that the owners and workers put into this gym speaks volumes. Honestly, I could go on and on as to why this is the best gym I've ever visited but I hope everyone gets to experience working out at Rise Barbell.

The main door entering rise has been seen multiple times with handprints smudged all over and dust on equipment. I do appreciate the cleaning products and towels to clean off instruments after use, however during non peak times there are no towels available. Not sure who to let know regarding this, but will change my review once I see this area addressed.

Tickets are only $10, and that alone, is worth the 5-star review. For less than the price of a couple coffee's or cartons of eggs, you are able to have some really cool interactions with animals. If you want to experience anything else like this, you'll have to drive an hour to the Houston Zoo, pay a lot more money for tickets, deal with crowds/parking/etc. The Learning Zoo is obviously not trying to compare itself to the Houston Zoo, but where else are you going to get to play with goats, pigs, birds, a pony, tortoises and snakes? The location is really hidden behind 1488. You drive through a residential street, and then all the way at the back, you make a couple of turns, and suddenly you're at The Learning Zoo. When you walk in, you are offered some lettuce and carrots for the animals for an additional $10, which is definitely worth it. Plus, they have some animals inside the lobby area - snakes, hedgehogs, other reptiles, etc. Then you head outside to the main part of the experience. You can walk amongst the tortoises, get "attacked" by all of the birds in their sanctuary, join the goats and pigs in their pen, and they even brought out a 14 foot snake for people to hold and take pictures with. Everyone here was incredibly nice, too. We were only there for about 45 minutes, but for $40, it was worth every penny.

Best gym in the Tomball, Cypress, Houston, and Spring area hands down! There are many that try to duplicate the vibe, energy, and atmosphere that RAW has, but no one comes close. There are beginners all the way to IFBB Pros training at RAW. It is always remarkably clean, and their new music service makes it even better. They have top of the line equipment, and if anything is to ever break, they fix it within a few days. They also have a nutrition store in house, and have discounts for all members! If you're looking for the BEST GYM in the area, look no further, RAW is truly one of a kind. read more

Stay away from this gym unless you like dealing with the worst customer service you will ever experience. I have lived all over Houston and have been a member of many gyms all over the north side. Nothing wrong with the equipment or the people who workout here, just the people running the gym. If you don't expect to be helped out or have an understanding person to deal with, then you have the right expectations for this place. Even 24 hour fitness has better management/customer service. I would suggest Villa Sport on Barker Cypress or Iron Summit on Grant, only a few minutes away. read more

I have been working out with a personal trainer for many years and have been a member of approximately seven gyms/fitness centers and Raw is one of the best equipped and less crowded gyms I've attended. The variety of services is a great plus and the people around you are great too. You have a choice of a personal trainer or train yourself and the staff are very helpful. Personalized training is individualized and the staff and clientele are very friendly. And ladies, you will feel very safe working out, as Dawn tolerates no harassment in her gym. This gym practices 'bait & switch' sales techniques, they advertise $20 personal training sessions and $10 a month gym memberships. Neither of these statements are true, once you get on site the owner George tries to upsell you stating that the advertised pricing has restrictions and attempts to lock you into a three month contract totaling more than $1500 that he wants to electronically withdraw from your account on his schedule. I spent six weeks working out at this location, had two trainers never received any programming and in full disclosure the second trainer was awesome but was really placed in an awkward position; promised managerial responsibilities but micromanaged daily. George (the owner) is disgruntle, argumental and disrespectful to the members. You have a choice of where you call home for your fitness needs, I strongly recommend considering other local gyms whose owners do not yell, shout, disrespect you or flat out don't practice selling techniques from 1980!
