He shared knowledge with me that allowed me to take good care of them at home, without placing them in a nursing home. My other requirements when selecting a PCP were that he/she had to be board certified Internal Medicine. So Dr. Dye fulfilled these criteria. I called at the beginning of August to schedule establishment visits. The first available they had for both of us to come in (yes, I had to make sure I went with my husband because he hates going to the doctor) was at the beginning of September, a month later. The day before the appointment, the office called to say that Dr. Dye had to reschedule so they rescheduled it for the week following. The day before that supposed appointment, they called my husband to reschedule. We re-arranged our schedule and agreed to be seen the following Monday. The office staff is small and seem over-worked. We weren't greeted by a receptionist, but given paperwork to fill out by the medical assistant. We waited for about forty-five minutes from our appointment time, and finally were seen. Dr. Dye and his associate (Dr. Ashley although I am sure I am spelling her name wrong) were very thorough about our concerns/questions, and we got along very well after I disclosed that I was a physician myself. Overall, they appear competent and friendly (but how much of that is because I'm a fellow physician?). The wait time left a lot to be desired (both for the appointment and on the day of the appointment). We will see how they do with follow-up care and lab results... but since my husband and I are relatively healthy, I don't plan on making any PCP changes at this time.

They didnt have anyappointments for another 3 weeks but said they could fit me in the next day. The next day they called to cancel and reschedule the next day. When I went later, they had me waiting in the waiting room for an HOUR AND A HALF!!! Then they put me in a room with people's medical records on chairs and all over the room that I killed time reading (I'm sure they violated HIPPA/ patient confidentiality there!!) When I told them that I thought it was an unreasonable time to wait they said that they didnt have to treat me, and if I didnt like it I could leave and go to the ER and wait there if I wanted to. That doesnt seem like good patient care to me. I dont want a doctor who's response to a patients concern about what kind of care they are receiving to be "Keep your mouth shut. If you dont like it, go wait at BMC's ER for 8 hours." My father and brother are doctors and they said that they would never say that, that's bad patient care and poor professional demeanor. I will never go back or return for follow up care. I think I would prefer and wait in Newton-Wellesley ER, atleast theyre nice and caring there. So I am looking for another PCP. Anyone have a good suggestion? : )

There's a woman who works at the front desk/answers the phone who is perhaps the rudest person I've ever spoken to. Zero manners. Annoyed, mocking, borderline berating. I called to see if they could pull up a medical release form that I had signed two years ago and transfer my records over to another office, and she insisted that I had never sent them a form. Basically yelling at me over the phone. Front desk staff are a critical component of any healthcare, as they're the first person you see and can set the tone for the rest of the appointment. I would never want someone like her to be in charge of issues like appointments, who to talk to about bills, etc. Absolutely horrendous experience. Plus each time I've come, I've had to wait upwards of at least half an hour to an hour before being seen.

The male receptionist sincerely lacks even a modicum of knowledge involving GYN concerns, he doesn't how to triage problems, he is abrasive, rude, arrogant, disrespectful, angry, he lacks empathy, curiosity, kindness, or even concern. Literally every interaction I have had with him, whether in person or over the phone is distressing. I had my first unpleasant experience with him when I called the office to make my first appointment. I decided to stay with the practice because I thought Anna Keshishyan was fantastic, and I figured my interaction with him would be minimal. Now I understand that he is the gatekeeper of the practice, and one must attempt to get through him in order to get to a provider. There are certain types of support staff who do not belong in healthcare, especially because when a patient is calling a doctor's office, it is usually not because they are having an amazing day and are looking for a sound board for their exhilaration.
