Food was cold and sparse, atmosphere was unpleasant. Won't be back. The lighting was like Denny's restaurant.

The view from Chart House is truly magnificent, looking out over the water and the New Pass bridge…read more This is an older restaurant, providing great views for many years. Once we finished inside we walked down by the water to appreciate the spot. We stopped in for Happy Hour, which currently runs from 4:00 to 6:30. The bar area was busy but we were able to find seats along the bar counter. Chart House is a large restaurant with large windows for diners to enjoy. In the bar area the view was not so much, blocked by bar stuff. That's ok, we still enjoyed the location. We also enjoyed our visit. Jackie the bartender was very nice, and quite efficient. I liked watching how well she moved around interacting and mixing drinks. Other customers were friendly and happy. It was just a nice place to belong. I looked forward to some food, specifically their Prime Rib Sliders. They weren't amazing but still good, and the three sliders were larger than I expected. Those, plus some great truffle fries I stole from my wife, made for a nice light dinner.

The music felt more geared toward people in their 20s and 30s, which made the atmosphere feel a little disconnected from the clientele that was actually there. On top of that, the food and experience felt overpriced for what you received. Overall, it just didn't feel like the classic Chart House experience I was expecting. Would I go back? Probably not.

Once our large group was seated, there were fans around us, so the bugs went away. I am from California, so I am not used to good service lol, so I was pleasantly surprised with all the "Yes ma'am," "Thank you, ma'am," etc. The server was nice and a total trooper with the number of people he had to keep track of because we all had separate checks. He did an amazing job, and we were extremely grateful. I tried their Housemade Crab Dip, and it was delicious. It was a great portion, really creamy, and well seasoned. For my meal, I had the Admiral's Platter. Everything was delicious, not too oily, and I loved the dipping sauces that came with it. Overall, it was a great experience with great service. If I'm ever back in Sarasota, I would love to come back.

We sat on the water and enjoyed a beautiful view. The decor and atmosphere is beachy and relaxing. The cocktails were good. The parking is convenient. The bad part that made it disappointing. The food was not great. My grouper sandwich was fair. It was kinda bland. The slaw was dry. The fish and chips was odd. The fries were decent. The fish was inside a very thick coating of batter. The crab legs were good. The coconut shrimp were good but too heavily battered. The green beans on the side were totally unseasoned. The worst was the chicken sandwich. It was tasteless with a a thick greasy batter. It was bad. Once we decided to send it back our server took forever to return to table to check on us. We were mid meal before we checked on. My daughter decided to pickup something else at a different restaurant after we left. How do you mess up a chicken sandwich? Unless you are just coming in for drinks(or crab legs) I would recommend a different choice of restaurant. The view adds one star to the rating.

It's got a relaxing beach vibe with outside seating and a nice patio in the back with enough shade. I could tell that they host nightly entertainment here with a small stage. For lunch, I ordered the lobster maki roll. I'm not a big sushi fan, but I was intrigued. This lobster roll was one of the best sushi rolls I've had in a long time. Also ordered include the blackened grouper sandwich, billionaire burger, and tempura shrimp appetizer. Our group loved every entree. The cocktails were also refreshing. I really loved my jalapeño watermelon margarita. Our server was wonderful - very friendly and quick service. Definitely an enjoyable lunch or dinner spot!

The parking place had ample parking where you needed a mobile app to pay for your parking. There was a larger souvenir store there if you needed to kill time before your seating. Once it was our time for our dinner reservations, we were greeted and seated at our table. Our waitress was a bit sarcastic or had a witty comments that didn't sit well with my kids. When ordering our foods, the kids asked what type of drinks they had since it was not listed on the menu. She said Coke but didn't elaborate that they had Coke products. Since she said Coke so fast our daughter didn't hear the response and asked her the question again where she just said that's a great question and ignored her and moved on. Food wise - we had the Peruvian ceviche, Peruvian chicken, I think I had a special grouper dish. The food was good. We were able to eat everything and the kids enjoyed their kids burger meals. Outside of the waitress comments, the place placed nice modern music to listen to and had the basketballs games playing on the tv at the bar.
