I'm not mechanically skilled, so it was good to see how they checked for puncturing. And by extension, showing that work is being done. Some other shops will say they did services but just cold pitch it to upsell. I appreciate the team for helping me get on my way. Because they are dedicated to helping people, I'd definitely recommend them. Thank you again.

I can't express how grateful I am for Performance Auto Repair in Costa Mesa. Even though I live all…read morethe way in Chino, something about their reviews made me feel like I could trust them -- and I was right. When my SUV overheated and the engine failed, I was overwhelmed. But the moment I spoke with them, it felt like a weight lifted. They understood exactly what was happening before they even saw the car. Instead of pushing a costly $6,000 engine replacement, Byron found a way to rebuild the engine through a machine shop, saving me thousands. That kind of honesty is rare. The repairs took time, but they never rushed. They kept us updated, checked every detail, and refused to release the vehicle until they were absolutely sure there were no leaks, no issues, no surprises. After dealing with another shop that returned our Honda Pilot with oil leaks, this level of care meant everything. What stood out most was their integrity. Their kindness. Their commitment to doing the right thing even when it takes longer or costs them more effort. If we lived closer to Costa Mesa, we'd bring every one of our vehicles here without hesitation. There truly aren't enough words to describe how thankful I am for Byron and his team. They didn't just fix my SUV -- they restored my trust in what an honest auto shop can be.

SCAMMERS!!!!! DO NOT COME HERE!!!!…read more These losers only have positive reviews because they say they will knock off $50 your bill if you post a review. I had problems with my AC and came here. They told me they filled it with coolant and the AC still didn't work. They charged me $150 for coolant that fixed nothing. Then they 'ran some tests' which took 3 days and cost another $400. They concluded my whole AC system needed to be replaced for $1.5k and 'found' another $6k worth of problems with my car on top of that. I took my car in to another shop, they said my coolant was empty, charged me $50 for coolant and my AC has been working perfectly for the last 4 months. They also said that my car was fine and nothing needed to be replaced or fixed, basically confirming these A1 A$$holes made up the 'repairs needed'. I should have written this review sooner but I was tricked into originally giving them 5 star review to get the $50 off. DO NOT COME HERE!!!! I had texted him about the hassle I went thru after my minivan's alternator went out in July 2026, 15 months they had replaced it. Somehow that text did not go thru to his phone. The alternator had gone out when I was on the road, 4 hours away from home. Once they saw my review (Sep 2026), they reached out within a few hours. This showed me that this company cares about its reputation and had high standard of customer service. We talked and Thomas told me he would refund me the cost of the alternator. I received the money but it was more than just the money that left a great impression upon me. It was the honesty, integrity and the willingness to listen to my less-than-great initial experience. Anyhow, I think of them as a solid business that puts its customers first. I have updated them to 5 stars. They have earned it!

If you need a pre-purchase inspection or any auto repair, whether it be european, american, japanese made, etc, and EVs, take your car here and don't think twice. We reached out to Arnold for a pre-purchase inspection. While six other places quoted us $250-$350 for a "comprehensive" inspection, we paid Arnold $100, which was a STEAL for what he did, even more than what the others promised. He spent at least two hours thoroughly checking the vehicle, test driving it and walking us through every detail so we truly understood its condition. We were looking at buying an Audi Q4 e-tron that had a damage report. A reputable dealership told us it was "minor" and offered to take it to the mechanic for our peace of mind. After browsing Yelp and reading the amazing reviews, we decided to come here instead and I'm so glad we did. I had already done my due diligence and familiarized myself with the vehicle and potential issues. I asked Arnold very specific, technical questions that I already knew the answers to. He answered every single one with clarity and confidence and everything I was expecting to hear. My husband stayed the entire time, and Arnold patiently explained everything while inspecting the car. You can tell he was that kid that made the auto shop his playground growing up. He's passionate, meticulous, and GENUINELY cares. What impressed me most is that Arnold will never pressure you. He won't tell you "don't buy it," but he will clearly explain what could go wrong and what it might cost to fix. When I pressed him for his honest opinion, he said he personally wouldn't buy it at the listed price but if we negotiated it lower, then it might be worth considering. That level of honesty is RARE. They are your small local auto shop but I would choose them over any flashy, grandiose service center any day. Their integrity and transparency make them stand out.
