    5-19-2026 I called…read moreahead to ask about oil changes, and they said it was walk-in only. The employee confirmed the hours of operation, so I was hoping to get servicing done same day. Around 3 PM, I saw there were a couple of cars in the bay, and another in line. Within about 5 minutes, an employee came out to confirm my Groupon was for the right address, since there is one for another Valvoline down the road. It only took the technician around 25 minutes to help the previous customers. This is my second time at a Valvoline, and I decided to go with them, since they are quick and let you stay in your vehicle the whole time. My info was already in the system, and they offered $15 more to switch to full synthetic blend. According to the employee, synthetic blend would only cover up to 3-4k, and the full synthetic would be around 5k. $78.98 ended up being the new estimate. $3.99 disposal fee, $4.99 oil filter, $12.99 for the oil, and $74.99 for the oil change. The technician also confirmed the oil level at the end. The card reader had some issues with charging, but other than that, they were done in half an hour. There is a small office on the lefthand side and a restroom. I thought it was funny the tire guy next door came by to advertise repairs.

I called my normal car guy to see what he thought about the service I was needing and what they were charging for it, and he said it was a really good deal for the services. It's quite unbelievable that I wasn't charged a dime, and the patching of my tire was done so quickly. Jeremy Z. assisted me with the paperwork and was professional and courteous. I decided to leave my car here, head to work on a local bus and come back before closing time to pick up my car. The first time I came here, which was 03/28/2025, I got a free tire rotation as well. Trevor F. assisted me that time and was very thorough in ensuring that my car was in the best shape it could be because he informed me that my left rear wheel lug nuts were rounded and needed a 20 mm to remove. Apparently, someone may have used the wrong socket tool to drive the lug nuts, so I believe Trevor recommended that the lug nuts get replaced. I have not performed this recommended service yet, but I plan to soon. I recommend Big Brand Tire & Service for all your basic vehicle tire needs. I am very appreciative of the services I received and the fact that I was not charged anything for services that I would have gladly paid for.

I decided to try out this shop today and am incredibly happy with the service. As someone who gets service only when a maintenance code pops up on the dashboard (to all those newbies out there, I've been told that this is NOT a good practice if you want to keep your car as long as possible), I really appreciated the proactive advice from the owner (who I believe is John, based on other reviews). For example, he explained that because my specific model has a turbocharged engine, I need to change the oil more frequently, as in, roughly every 5 months or 5,000 miles (and he stressed that the range he was giving me was the bare minimum). I have never once been told this at a Honda dealership. On top of the great insights, the pricing was cheaper than the dealership, and the wait time was SIGNIFICANTLY shorter. The experience got me thinking that this is probably why some folks always take their cars to local shops: you get personalized, honest advice that dealerships rarely provide. If you're like me and feel a bit overwhelmed or lost when it comes to car maintenance, give this place a try. Jacki Willard 5-plus years ago: "Two distinguishing characteristics drive our everyday service: honesty and reliability." The shop was subsequently sold to a local shop owner, Patrick Howard, with Jacki still efficiently, ethically and honestly managing ops. Jacki has since died unfortunately. Patrick Howard moved to Texas and, per staff, was in the process of selling this shop when we last contacted Fox Auto. Still trusting Fox from work performed when Ken and Jacki were managing the business, major engine and drive train work were performed by Fox. FYI, a change in shop repair staff (mechanics) was noticed at about this time but that was attributed to industry related attrition and normal turnover. To make an already long narrative shorter, attached are copies of work performed by Fox. All this work needs to be redone, with less than 1,000 miles on those alleged repairs. Fox will argue statute of limitation since repairs are 4-5 years old. What unscrupulous shops fail to realize is that statutes of limitation are not limited by time frames alone. Put another way, these repairs should not have failed or be required to be redone in under 1,000 miles. I strongly recommend avoiding this business for major repairs. For minor repairs, e.g. under $500, should you experience failures due to poor workmanship, you can simply move on to a more reliable and honest auto repair facility. However, should repairs require thousands of dollars as in this case ($7,910 - ref attached invoices), again, I strongly suggest researching other options (I want back to another shop right up the street, owned by the same family for over 40 years).
