Even back in 2006, finding Fresh was one of the best things that came out of my 9 years spent in that part of Connecticut. Fresh started as one studio and after a short duration of having 2 studios, is back to one. Erector Square is large, clean, comfortable and easy access off the highway with parking that is easy and no additional cost. Fresh always had tremendous diversity and that has been one of its greatest assets. Whether you want a high intensity, strength based class, a gentle flowing class, or more restorative option, there is something there for you if not today, tomorrow. Teachers are highly trained and unique in getting pose cues and placement tips across to students. They are (in "normal times") great with hands on adjustments but also respect everyone's personal preference and almost all with ask permission before offering physical adjustments. There is overall excellent knowledge of injury warnings and appropriate modification offerings. After I left the area in 2017, I lost "contact" with my favorite studio, but I never found anything even near to its caliber. I completed 3 teacher trainings at Fresh as well as did a year long mentorship with the owner. I was blessed by chance, in this time of cyber class offerings only to return to "class" at Fresh and am only more impressed than I had been over 10 years ago. I love that classes are offered at 3 different price levels to allow for spending what you feel classes are worth but also to balance not being too strapping on a limited budget. The teaching has progressed amazingly and just the voiced cues on Zoom classes help me feel better positioning and adjustment in my body. Over the past week, I've done 2 Forrest yoga classes, a core connection class, a Fresh flow class, 2 very different vinyasa classes ( no more sun salutations AD NAUSEUM at this place!) 2 very different Yin classes and a Yoga Tune up class! What more can I say. I am excited to return to the studio when its up and running again. I just wanted to post a stellar review online in this down time because these virtual classes so inspired my desire to take up yoga seriously again!

I preferred the fact that it was not your typical "New Age" shop and enjoyed my time as I strolled and often lingered at various shelves and displays. It actually felt like "devotional time" simply to be there. I also wondered how I'd manage to pay for all of my esoteric rarities! Ron's libations to the public are little paragons that will adorn your home with a tapestry of elevated energy and beauty. Since that day (which included a very nice talk with Ron), I've returned at least twice and will continue to peruse the corners and aisles. Incidentally, there are often sales and markdowns on a variety of gifts to assist you with your personal mission. I guarantee that you will relish any time spent at Avant Garde's store.

To me that is a nice home scent and it smelt very relaxing. I was able to check in with the man behind the counter who I'm assuming owns the salon. We went in to another room and sat down. I was very pleased with the atmosphere as there was nice meditation figures around, dim lights, and a nice home set up. The medium was sitting on a couch gathering her thoughts. When it came time to get started the owner made a noise with a crystal bowl (?) to bring in spirits etc. I really enjoyed myself as it was a nice relaxing atmosphere and the lighting when the reading was happening was so calming. I will definitely be back as the salon not only offers top hair care, but other practices as well. I'm happy to have found such a nice little place so close to my home! 5 stars is not enough for how wonderful this little salon is.

Although I enjoy a variety of instructor styles, I can still be very choosy with classes and studios. I LOVE STUDIO Z. I live in Dallas but was visiting family in Branford for the week and wanted to enjoy some home made Italian food without adding inches to my waistline. I found Studio Z online and decided to give it a try. Their website clearly states prices and class times, so I went in on a Monday to buy a block of 4 classes for $35. I was greeted by Danielle, the owner and her lovely mother and little girl. They were very welcoming and asked if I was new to Zumba. This question is one of the most important things to ask new comers and although I've been doing Zumba a while now, I really appreciated that they asked. The studio is large, clean, colorful and there is a platform for the instructors to stand on, which is a big bonus. There are cubbies to put your things in during class time. I only took Danielle and Nili's AM classes and I really enjoyed both instructors. Each brought a different take on Zumba, but they both kept the integrity of a Zumba class' components. I recommend that if you're new to Zumba that you take a class in the morning since they are less crowded and there are a lot of people on different levels. It will take a few classes to get used to it, but stick with it and ask questions! The instructors also offer modifications to either lower or up the intensity. Toning sticks, mats, and all the fixins' are provided if you don't have them so just bring yourself and have fun. Don't be intimidated by other people in the class because they were once new too and I found most people in the class to be very nice. The monthly unlimited is a bargain, I would totally go to this studio if I lived here!!! Next time I visit, I will be back to studio z!

I've heard about Dayna's unique massage methods from some of my friends so I decided to give a chance, nothing was helping anyway.
