I had such a great first experience at this nail salon! I came in for a no-chip pedicure and a dip powder manicure, and everything exceeded my expectations. The salon was clean, relaxing, and had a really welcoming atmosphere. The pedicure was so detailed and refreshing my feet have never felt better and the no-chip polish looks flawless. My daughter went in for a pedicure with her friend and asked for the regular pedicure. They kept asking if she wanted non-chip polish so she eventually just said yes. I came in for a no chip pedi & dip w/ tips mani I had two separate technicians , one named Hannah did my pedicure and the other technician Helin did my manicure. I had my pedicure, perfect - great job. My manicure... pictures do not do any justice. She didn't trim the acrylic evenly, and did not file my nail-beds and tips enough. The tips were not glued down all the way. The tips did not even fit the size of my nail beds. They are bumpy, there are chunks missing along the nail bed and uneven - I have never had this bad of manicure I had to point out the issues that needed to be fixed, she seemed rushed and took no care, just wanted me out of the seat. Terrible customer service I paid $57 for this and now I have to go somewhere else and sit in a chair for 3 hours to get this hack job off So I lost not only my time for getting this, I also am losing time out my day to get this fixed by a professional. So pretty much paid a lot more than $57 for this garbage I've been a customer for three years - shame on you. Services cost more now to boot, on top of the downhill service. My total cost was $136 And plus tip So I'd love any suggestions of where to go and fix this problem on my hands (no pun intended ) Fix it. read more

I had asked a local moms Facebook group for the best nail salons in the area for a dip. Lots of people recommended Ravenna so I decided to try them out. The tech I had was so sweet and really took her time on my dip. However, 24 hours later one nail had a big chip. So I went back and had that fixed. And I do appreciate that they fixed the nail and didn't charge me. However it's a dip! It should have lasted more than 24 hours. Also, to make matters worse, here I am 6 days out from my manicure and I have 3 new chipped nails. I feel like for the time I spent there, the cost, and the high promises of a dip manicure, I should have gotten at least 10 days. Heck... even 7 days. read more

I've gone to Ravenna for 7+ years and had always enjoyed the quality of services and atmosphere. However, in the 2 last years or so, every single time I requested a classic pedicure the sales push to upgrade to a more expensive service or include add ons has been ridiculous. And this is on top of recent price increases. If I want a basic service and clearly state that, I do not want to go back and forth for another 5 minutes of why I don't need additional "fluff" services. However, what has sealed the deal for me to never return is that I got a bacterial infection in my toenail after my last pedicure there last week. This place is a big no. Made an appointment online to get my eyebrows trimmed and waxed. Next day, received an email saying they couldn't accommodate my appointment. I called and asked to for a reservation a half hour after I originally scheduled. They said not appointment necessary. I asked are you sure, and was told yes. Arrived when I said I would, and still had to wait 30 minutes. When I finally went for my service, I asked the waxer, to trim more off my eyebrows. I have been a frequent customer for this place for months!! We have had good and bad nails. We normally go with our aunt but the one time they tried to rip us off from our money. We had asked for normal polish they made us do no chip. I was getting acrylics removed and a full new set. THEY DID NOT SOAK MY NAILS. They had put me through horrible pain they ripped them off too acrylic and all. Keep in mind i'm only a 13 year old girl. I am not the best at speaking up. I have been going since the beginning of my chemo therapy and how do u treat someone who had just been fighting for there life and put them in pain when you know a girl that young is going through cancer. Then to my older sister had taken her acrylics off at home and only had a little left they had filed it to basically no nail left and she had asked for a heart when she had asked them to fix it because she didn't like it and it wasn't right they had said no in the picture that is my sisters nails the left is the nail salons heart the right is her heart what she wanted. Went to Ravenna because it was the closest nail spa to my location. They took me as a walk-in. I asked for the no-chip classic pedicure, no-chip mani, and a half leg and half arm wax. They started with the pedicure where they accidentally clipped the hyponychium (the skin under your nails) on my right foot's middle toe. I didn't have any polish on that toe and she SHOULD have seen/known how far to clip. It made me bleed and she immediately put some powder on it. I was willing to forgive this because I'm sure it happens. Pedicure went relatively smoothly after this. Chose a basic no-chip polish. Nothing too exciting. Following the pedicure she led me to the waxing room. There were two beds in there, which is probably weird. I've only ever waxed in single rooms. I asked for a half leg and half arm wax. The temperature of the wax was fine and the session started fine. But she DID NOT HOLD MY SKIN TAUT when ripping the strip. I could tell the wax was not applied evenly when the stick bounces from one spot to another. She also did not hold my skin taut when applying the wax. She would use the same waxing strip two or three times and, I want to reiterate, she DID NOT hold my skin taut every time she pulled the strip. She would then take the strip and would literally slap my leg really hard with it, presumably to remove excess wax. I don't think it worked because I saw what my legs looked like afterward and there was way too much residual wax on either leg. A few days later, I noticed a few bruised spots near my ankle! She started on my arm using a similar process. And in case it wasn't clear before, she DID NOT hold my skin taut and would just pull on the strip that she used two or three times. Of course, this motion would bring my arm or leg with it and sometimes, the edge of the strip won't come off completely and she needed to pull it slowly, which hurt. Again, she would slap my arm with the used wax strip to try and get the excess wax. Eventually, she got to my left arm I immediately saw a bruise form on my left wrist because she pulled too hard on the strip, yet again, without holding my skin taut. She seemed confused! I was starting to believe I'm literally her first wax client and she received either zero training or zero instruction on how to wax properly. They also had another client come in for an eyebrow wax in the middle of my session, which made the room really cramped with 4 people. She looked over my legs and arms to check for spots she missed (there were PLENTY). She did one more painful wax pull and I just could not take it anymore so I told her to just stop the session. I cannot believe I endured this waxing session for this long, and I'm actually upset with myself. I had one more service left - my manicure. I asked for an ombre, I picked the colors and showed her my inspo picture. It wasn't a great dupe, but I was just ready to leave. Basically, the nails were fine. I didn't bleed or bruise from the manicure, so I guess I'm happy with it considering the alternative. If you're coming to Ravenna for a wax, definitely ask for someone experienced who would not leave you with minor injuries. read more

I have been here about 8 times since moving to Geneva last summer. It has been mostly good but there have been a few issues along the way with the dip cracking/chipping prematurely. Today, however, was the last straw. I signed in and was told it would be a 20-30 minutes. People came in after me and we're served before me....one lady left without being served and so finally, I realized it had been almost 90 minutes and inquired how much longer it would be. The employee, perhaps manager, provided a very unclear answer without any specific time frame quoted and no apology so I left. I realize the whole world is short staffed but if after this many years in business you can't quote accurate wait times or you are not honest with your customers that is a huge problem and if you don't have the courtesy to apologize for making me waste more time than it takes to do the nails in the first place some customer service training is really needed. read more

This past visit there was the absolute last straw. I came in with my friend so I could get a fill and she could get a mani-pedi. While I was talking to the nail tech she made me get a new set when I said multiple times that I did not want a new set, she did it anyways. Then it came down to deciding length and shape, I like my nails somewhat long and a more rounded stiletto, but not quite almond. She made them super short after I said that I wanted them long, I told her I did not like the length and she said it was finthen she made the shape very pointed. She went too low on several fingers and made me bleed. With the nail polish remover used to then clean the nails I thought I'd throw up from the stinging pain. She saw/felt me wincing and just looked the other direction. Let me start by saying I have been going here for over 10 years. Today the President made an announcement that all vaccinated Americans do NOT have to wear masks inside or outside. So I walked into the Salon without my mask. Shortly afterward the lady at front brought me a mask to put on and I stated the CDC and President stated fully vaccinated do not have to wear a mask. I told her if they requested I wear one- I would simply leave and go somewhere else. She said No, NO, then another girl working there came over and asked me if I had a mask. I told her the President and CDC stated I did not need to wear a mask indoors. She loudly stated I don't care what the CDC said , you think you are entitled! I told her that was not the case and that I was vaccinated and not trying to cause trouble. I left without issue but this brings us to the issue of how fearful we have become because of Covid!
