I was looking for a hair salon near me in Pinole where I could get a simple straight cut. I called Ravays and spoke with Bernice who told me that she could easily handle my request. I have very long gray hair that is almost to my waist and I wanted her to cut off about 5 - 6 inches. I was able to get an appointment that day. Bernice was a very nice lady who made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in. She took about 15 minutes to cut my hair and it looked great. It was exactly what I wanted. Her salon is beautiful and has a wonderful vibe. Bernice even gave me some great advice for my granddaughter who was struggling with dandruff. Even though I only went to Ravays for a simple cut, I recommend this salon as they are friendly and my first experience will keep me coming back. read more

I've been coming to this salon since last year. Had been searching for someone who specializes in shorter fade cuts for women. I was lucky to schedule my first appointment with the owner Bernice, and from the work I've seen and received, she is a true artist. Not to mention incredibly kind and professional. I feel that I should note: I have a lot of anxiety and Bernice makes me feel comfortable every time I'm in her chair. (She could be a therapist!) Ravays is a very welcoming environment and I've already recommended her to so many people! I get compliments all the time now! Thank you for everything you do! read more

Still enjoying going to Debra. I must say she's always consistently wonderful. I can change my cut or color every time I go, and leave so happy. She always has words of wisdom to share and a kind heart. She's more a friend who cares and I get beautiful hair to top it off read more

I had been seeing Bernice for almost a year and was reasonably satisfied until she pulled a very unprofessional stunt on me. I was running a bit late for an appointment so I texted her to let her know I'm on my way and would be a bit late. No response. When I arrived, the salon was shuttered and dark. I texted her multiple times and left a voice message on her phone. No response as of four days later. I did miss an appointment last month due to a medical procedure that day, so I have to assume this was some sort of childish payback for that. Since she is close to retirement, it seems clear she no longer cares about her regular customers or her business, even though my brother, who referred me to her, has been seeing her for years. It's one thing to be ghosted by somebody on an online dating app, but quite another to be ghosted by someone who claims to be a professional hair cutter and owns a business which is charging $ for their services. Find someone who actually cares about their customers. read more

Bernice is really great. Best haircut I've had in years. I'm a regular customer starting now.

I came here for years and one distrustful transaction, by raising the price and then charging my credit card not telling me then adding a $10 tip, when I asked why did she charged $25 over the usual, she stated she has always charged me that amount, I said absolutely not, I showed her the previous bill Debra yelled well it because of COVID-19. You never have the right to take a clients card and just change the price, the owner called me asking to remove this however like I said to Bernice, this is what she did to me, I don't want it happening to someone else so it stays. There is no misunderstanding when I was told a price then after my hair is completed, I gave Debra my credit card, she charge my card a different amount, when I question the difference I was yelled at for asking. Told that was the new price after Covid, see I could understand a change in price what I do not understand is changing it without telling the customer, especially a long time good customer. read more

If you want the most talented hair stylists and walk out feeling like a supermodel. Ravays is the ONLY place that I will ever go. All the stylists are extraordinary, I go to Debra. I have followed her from a previous salon. After 20+ years I have always been thrilled with cuts and colors. To treat myself I book a shampoo and style before special nights. Ravays goes above and beyond to follow Covid guidelines. They use only the best products. After 20+ years my stylist is someone I say, "do whatever you want" and I'm always HAPPY. I would give Ravays a 10 out of 5. read more

I have so many good things I can say about Ravay's and it's owner, Bernice Berry. I have come here for almost 10 years and she keeps my hair healthy and looking great. I get compliments everywhere I go. The atmosphere of the salon is relaxing, warm and inviting. It is a great place to go before or after work when your tresses need to be managed. You are always offered a drink or snack. I will continue to patronize this salon because of the professional work and warm demeanor. Check this place out if you're ever in the area. read more

Ravays Hair Studio - Inside the salon - Hair Salons Near Me - Pinole, California

My family and I have been going to either Connie or Debra for over 10 years. I've followed them from Dlons to Paragon and then to Ravays. We are always pleased. Their colors and highlites are perfect, always what you want, and I change my color often. I must say I love the feel of Ravays. You always feel welcome, it's modern and has class, but not pretencious like some other salons. The prices are reasonable and the service always wonderful. I love to be pampered and feel special. Ravays and it's girls are a rare find. read more

I am proud and happy that I chose this Salon to color my hair! As much as coloring doesn't sound like big deal for many, but it was for me since it was my very first official color in my life. I went there with a virgin hair and Gricelda did her magic to brighten up my post-part boring hair. I had the most amazing and satisfying feeling after three hours of work. Gricelda took time to look into my preferences, shared her previous works, and put out suggestions, which all impacted to make me comfortable with what I was doing. The service went above and beyond. On a general note, the place holds a great standard of customer service, organization, great quality, and to top it off, the bathroom is really clean with calming scents and beautiful portraits on the wall. I love it here and this will be my place to get my hair done. Thank you Gricelda for making my experience very special! read more

Ravays is my favorite places to go to get my hair done. The environment is so relaxing. Bernice the owner does a superb job. After getting my hair done, I get lots of compliments from my husband and others. The products they use leave my hair healthy, with beautiful natural looking highlights. Once I was outside on the job and one of the other teachers looked at me and said, I love the way your highlights shine when the sun hits your hair! Unexpectant compliment;-) And my husband said he would pay for me to get my hair done as long as I keep going to Bernice! read more

I actually tried this place out based on other Yelp reviews and was very happy! Bernice did an amazing job with my color and the cut was nice. Truthfully I wish she would have gone as short as the picture I showed her, but overall I was very satisfied. She also gave me a few free samples of hair products which I am still using. I look forward to being a repeat customer. read more

Gricelda did my hair and makeup for my wedding and it came out exactly how I wanted it. She came to my home and did my make up and hair and my mothers make up and hair. My first couple times in this salon were a bit troubling but then I met Alisa and I am thrilled to have found someone so talented, kind, and accommodating. Alisa always goes above and beyond. She continues to learn new tricks despite being a veteran in her field. She truly loves her work and it shows. I have some pretty challenging hair to work, thick, course, kinky curls and a ton of it. While many hair dressers cringe when they see the amount of hair I have, and treat my mop like a burden, Alisa looked at me like a challenge and dove right in with a smile on her face. I am picky about my color and cut, plus my kind of hair really puts a stylist through their paces and I can honestly say that Alisa is extremely skilled and creative. Thank you Alisa for being so fabulous! read more

Ravays Hair Studio - Salon - Hair Salons Near Me - Pinole, California

Griselda has got to be the most unprofessional stylist I have ever encounter. I hired her services for my bridal hair and make up because she was highly recommended to me by mutual friends so I really trusted she was going to do an amazing job. I am saddened to say I was not treated as a valued costumer and that her make up skills were less than stellar. This is my experience with her: When I showed up for my trail appointment I was surprised she didn't have me down in her calendar. In fact I wasn't in her schedule for my wedding day, even though I had called to make both appointments months in advance. She was able to do the trial because she was unoccupied when I arrived. While I was there she made "space for me" at 7am for my wedding day. While I was happy with my hair-do I was less than impressed with my make up. I had to tell her what to do with my eyes, my eyelashes looked detached from my real ones, she didn't add make up on my eyelids, she only applied almost no make up on my face because she didn't have enough, her make up collection is limited, and she told me to bring my own make up for the day of the wedding. Though I understand it's a trial, I payed $85 to have it done right. I felt it was a rip off. Because she had done an okay job on my hair and because there was no time to look for another stylist, I made the wrong decision to keep my appointment for my wedding day. A few days before the wedding she called to CANCEL my appointment! A FEW DAYS! This is the most unprofessional experience I have encountered with a hair stylist. I can truly say that I treated her with respect and did not expect her to do something like this. Fortunately I was able to find someone else last minute and get my hair and make up done on time, but she made me feel as a worthless customer. She could have at least offer a refund for making me waste my time with her. Please avoid a headache by not going with her. read more

My wife has been going to Ravays for years and refuses to go anywhere else. She wanted me to get 'gussied up', so for the first time in over 10 years I booked a salon appointment to get a professional hair cut. The owner, Bernice, was waiting for me and did she ever do a great job - styled my hair exactly as I wanted it and I must admit - my hair never looked so good. I can totally understand why my wife loves her - talented, funny and a true professional. I will definitely be back! read more

I just love going to this salon! Debra has been my stylist for several years. She always takes the time to ask about how I liked the cut, color, etc from my last visit. Everyone is super friendly and I'm always offered a beverage when I arrive. The shop is clean and the atmosphere relaxing. When my daughter got married last year, we had Christina and Debra do the bridesmaids hair, along with me and my daughter and Griselda did our makeup. We had the whole shop to ourselves and we were treated like princesses! Bernice, the owner is such a warm and friendly person. read more

I got tired of either going to Piedmont for a really hair cut/style and another place in Pinole for a color. I needed a good place nearby that can do both with no compromise on quality. An acquaintance recommended me about Ravay's and I yelped it and tried it once (this was last summer.) Met Bernice, the owner, who is super nice and very professional - I was in and out, perfect hair style and guess what color came out great and she actually use better quality products. I've been coming consistently every 6 weeks or so - I can always count on Bernice to accommodate my very crazy schedule. One time I had travel plans and I was super busy - I had my hair done at like super early I think it was like 8am in the morning. Never have I found anyone that will do that at a place like this - its a real beauty salon, great location, very nice atmosphere, super clean, great products, fab hair cut and color .... need I say more..... real hidden jewel in Pinole! read more

This is a great place to get hair done. My salonist iChristina moved here from another location. The other location was great too but I have never felt so comfortable in a salon as I feel at ravays. The minute you walk in it feels like home. You are always offered a drink or soda water or tea. And Christina is fantastic. She's been doing my hair for 10+ years. I love how my hair feels after I get it done by Christina. Christina is so patient with me teaching me how to style my own hair.
