I went in the same day I called for an appointment. I got highlights for the first time and fell in love with my hair again. Definitely thinking about going back to get my hair cut (a different salon messed it up causing damage and broken ends ugh). I love how I was able to show them pictures of how I wanted the highlights to be. They were very educational too. Since I've had chemicals in my hair, they suggested that I not get it bleached but something less aggressive. I appreciated their honesty and I don't know why I haven't been back yet! Great place. I've been having my hair cut and colored here for about 5 years. They can be hit and miss. Sometimes the cut is fabulous, other times, so-so, and on occasion, they miss. That being said, the prices are very reasonable and I've had terrible cuts at high priced salons, so everyone has an off day. I've made my peace with this reality, but I realize not everyone has. The people who run it, Catalina and other family members, are always friendly and professional. They can run late sometimes. I like knowing who's cutting and coloring my hair. Catalina spends time thoroughly crafting each haircut, and always asks for my feedback before finishing the cut - something I've never had any other hairstylist do, but have greatly appreciated! She is very skilled and all of the haircuts have been adapted for my hair type while still retaining the look I wanted from the photos I brought. I just have to say I have never really used Yelp but I am so glad that I did. I was looking for a new hair stylist because the people I have seen in the past are just not what I want messing with my hair. I read all of the positive feedback and even after being discouraged by friends recommending other locations I decided to go with my gut. When I called in to book my appointment Catalina was very nice and helpful letting me know the prices and answering the questions I had. I made my appointment for 4pm. Around about 3:15pm I received a call from her Daughter Rocio letting me know she had gotten a little backed up and asked if I would like to just come a bit later so I wouldn't have to sit around I appreciated the thought. When I got there around 4:15 I was greeted very friendly and notices it was a beautiful and clean salon. I'd say the wash, cut, and blow out took about 45mins I was running late for work but so be it. We finished up and I was in love with my hair although now in a rush(lol). I'm picky about everything its my OCD but she made me happy and sorry to say that is a hard task. She was just all around very attentive and you could tell she was knowledgeable and obviously talented I will most definitely be going back to see her again and I will also be recommending her to any and everyone! Okay, so I've never had my hair cut professionally before, and I hadn't touched it with scissors since 7th grade (I'm 19). So I was definitely worried about this cut (going from mid- abdomen to shoulder length) but Catalina's was great. They asked exactly what I wanted and took time to look at my pictures, and talk with me before doing anything. She even asked about my curl type, since I have naturally curly hair and that could affect the length. She also let me pick the length with a clip which gave me a lot of peace of mind (I know a lot of places cut way more off than you tell them to). Instead of giving me long layers (to get rid of the harshness of the cut), she gave me a soft cut, which is so much better for me. She also kept me updated throughout the whole cut and would ask before she did something. And the price is so reasonable, for my cut which took about half an hour (no appointment), I paid just $18. My hair feels way healthier, and I'm very pleased. I will say however that some reviews are correct that they can be a little heavy handed/rough on your hair, but it didn't hurt me at all and they did a great job. The place is clean, and they speak both English and Spanish very well. read more
