Luckily their location was not terrible to find, as there was ample street parking. When I walked in, the warm and friendly receptionist greeted and made me feel right at home. Throughout my visit, Shannon shared me with her wealth of knowledge of the various AHAs as well as retinoid products. I love that we were able to geek out on which products to use to achieve brightening effects. She also made some recommendations based on my skin type such as mandelic acid instead of glycolic acid for gentle exfoliation. Without trying to oversell me her products, she suggested that I try over-the-counter Nizoral antifungal wash for possible white-heads that pop up occasionally as well as prescription tretinoin since I had a few hyperpigmented spots that I wanted to fade/brighten. Given it was my first time there, she did allow me to use my credit card to pay but informed me that she only accepted cash or checks to help keep operating costs down. Since my back issues were minor based on her assessment, I did not schedule a return visit. I so very much appreciate her sound and scientifically backed advice (I also follow various certified dermatologists on IG for general aging skin care maintenance); I definitely will be making a visit if future skin issues arrive!

I informed Melody that it was my first time having a facial, and she asked if I wanted her to talk through each of the steps she was going through or if I wanted total relaxation. Given it was my first time, I preferred to have Melody talk me through what was going on. Throughout the entire process, I felt relaxed and comfortable. Melody appears very well versed in what she's doing. Overall, I had a great experience. Of course, my face was a bit red afterwards from the extractions, but after a couple days my face was feeling and looking a lot better than before.

What reminded me to post it was another compliment on my beautiful skin that I just received from a total stranger while waiting in a doctor's office. I'm in my early 70's. I don't look it. Yah, some of that is genes but a lot is due to care. I *know* a good facial; I've had many over the years. Most are mediocre, or just adequate, or suffer from a poorly designed environment. The two times I found incredible estheticians, I saw each for years (until I couldn't bc of location/life changes), even though they were rather stern (imagine a brusque Russian affect ). (There was a whole lot of information to remember before the visit and they don't all sink in until you're done and you get the kit.) Otherwise I had a pleasant experience getting my first peel with Sheila/Shiela. I'm now on my 4th day post-procedure and looking forward to the results. Also, really helpful with the GLP, clear labeling on each syringe, and easy FaceTime with the doctor. I've never had to wait past an appointment time and there's always parking. I was a little anxious walking into my appointment, but all of that melted away as soon as I was greeted by an incredibly kind concierge. She was warm, attentive, and welcoming, and I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in. The environment was relaxing, clean, and inviting. I didn't have to wait for my appointment and was escorted to a private room, where I met with a very kind physician assistant. She simply asked me what had brought me in. As I explained my concerns, she asked thoughtful follow-up questions about how I was feeling, what I was concerned about, and what I hoped to achieve, rather than trying to just sell me some "magic solution". She walked me through all of my options and provided a lot of helpful information that made me feel confident in my decisions. I had mentally prepared myself for a sales pitch, but it never came. My appointments have been canceled multiple times, and at this point, it's completely unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. When a customer books an appointment, they arrange their schedule and make plans around that time. Yet the owner seems to have no problem repeatedly canceling appointments and inconveniencing customers. If clients are expected to show up on time and respect the salon's cancellation policy, then the owner should be held to the exact same standard. What makes this even more frustrating is that this isn't a one-time situation--it keeps happening. At some point, it stops being an unexpected circumstance and becomes a pattern of poor customer service and a complete lack of respect for other people's time. As the OWNER, you should be setting the standard for professionalism, reliability, and customer service--not creating the problem yourself. If you cannot honor the appointments you schedule, then you shouldn't be booking them in the first place. I've been more than patient, but enough is enough. Customers deserve better than repeatedly having their time wasted.

Also, to save time she added trios rather than singles in some areas. There were literally hard clumps of glue in my lashes and many of my natural lashes fell out as a result. She had an appointment come in one hour after mine and we were done a few minutes later. In my experience with other salons that take their time, it takes at least 90 minutes to do a good job. So disappointed and she wanted $100 for a two week fill!
