So I said I'd come in sick with a mask on to my appointment in order for them not to charge a cancellation fee. They said I couldn't come into my appointment either because I'm sick. So basically they won't let me go to my appointment, but they also won't waive the fee for keeping me out for being sick. Wtf? These people are seriously unprofessional and rude. Any other salon would've understood and simply waive the fee like a real business who treats their customers well. Not to mention my first experience there when the employees gossiped about other clientele the whole time to each other and then smile to your face as you fill their pockets, wtf was that about and why are they doing this in-front of customers in the chair?! I really tried to give this place another chance, I had hopes for this place based on reviews, I came to realize later a lot of those nice yelp reviews came from their friends, yes I can tell. There are definitely better salons out there that are authentic and courteous and I was lucky to find a better one with higher standards for how they run their business and treat people and been with them ever since. Happy to ditch the ritzy place, no room for the fake and greedy.

When I went, the store was closed but I heard a honk. To my surprise, it was Ann! She opened the door and explained to me that she went to do some errands due to a no show and I was able to fit in same day at the time I arrived. For cut, style, and wash, this was $40 either cash or Zelle to Ann. She told me that the number indeed is no longer valid and each of the hairstylists are contacted by their personal phone number to schedule appointments etc. I typically don't go to the same hairstylists unless if the price is cheap/ the person cuts well. Personally, $40 is a lot but I wasn't only give those services. Ann was the first hairstylist to ask me the temperature of the water I use to wash my hair since she noticed I have thinning hair. Even telling her I have genetic hair loss, she reassured me it can be combatted in some ways. I feel confident to come back to get my hair cut by Ann after my very first time here. Definitely out of my budget in some ways but where can you find this package for this price? I highly would recommend Ann! She's such a sweet person too!

I had tried booking in January with another stylist, Gio, but our schedules didn't align. I had worked with Gio before at another hair salon in Berkeley and she is the sweetest! I found CS Beauty Salon through their Instagram page and was redirected to their online booking platform. I reached out to Carina first before booking, just to see if she was still accepting new clients. The appointment had been filled by the time she got back to me, but Carina was nice enough to squeeze me in for an appointment on another day, that same week. There is parking in the back of their building, but it looked a little tight to go through and there is a lot of oncoming traffic to turn into, so I just parked at Dollar Tree and walked over. The salon looks remodeled and everything is brand new and clean. I believe they opened about 3 years ago? There are complimentary snacks and a coffee bar for you to enjoy. Carina was easy to talk to and she is very friendly and welcoming. I appreciate her reaching out and communicating with me when she was running behind with her current client. My appointment included a wash, cut, and blow out; I opted for long layers and face framing. She did a great job and I'm very satisfied with my cut! I walked in on a Sunday morning and there were a bit of people waiting to get their hair cut. The wait wasn't long and the lady seemed to know what she was doing. I only asked for a trim because I've had bad experiences asking for anything else. The lady cut the exact amount of hair I had asked for and even gave me a few recommendations for my damaged hair. A lot of salons were also charging $80-90 for a haircut. I found Beauty Haircuts on yelp and gave them a call. The lady I spoke to, told me I can come in after I was out of work (5:00 pm). I rushed over to Beauty Haircuts and got seated in a chair upon arrival. Forgive me, I don't remember the lady's name, who cut my hair. BUT SHE WAS AMAZING!!!!! She knew what she was doing, asked me questions, and gave me just what I wanted. I will be back for my next trim, with her!! I am so grateful and happy!

I received so many compliments at the event ~ the color is incredibly vibrant, and my hair is still shining post-wash. From the moment I stepped into Chop Salon, the service was absolutely wonderful ~ check in/out was a breeze, and even during wait times for color to process, there were ample snack/drinks to munch/sip on. Appreciate the good tunes and really just the overall vibe of this salon. It feels cozy, but also hip and comfortable. I don't have pricing to compare to, but overall I left feeling both impressed and excited to return soon for a salon in the EB I can trust/feel welcome in. My mother and I have been going to Pari for haircuts and hair threading for the past 5 years (since…read moreshe was employed at the Little Mermaid). She is very kind, personable, and is careful to listen and adhere to what you want. She does give her expert opinion based on what she thinks would look good for your face shape and hair type but ultimately listens to the customer's wishes. Hair cuts: Very skilled, especially when it comes to layering. I usually keep my hair short (boy-short, if you will) and she is very neat and careful with how she layers the hair. She does the same for my mom who has a very different hair type than I do and gives great results each time. She is somebody who really understands hair and has an eye for what would look good versus what wouldn't for each client. I always trust her judgment. Hair threading: I usually have my full face threaded, with the exception of my eyebrows. She pays great attention to detail and is VERY CLEAN and quick. I have had her thread my eyebrows a few times but it always turned out a little thinner than I would prefer so I tend to my own eyebrows with a tweezer now, although she does clean up the parts I miss every now and then. Make-up: She had done my make up for me once but I feel like she caked it on wayyyy too much (I rarely wear make-up so it seemed like a lot for me) so I wouldn't say make-up is her strong point. Overall, my only real complaint is the pricing ($41 for full-face threading). I feel it is on the moderately expensive side but when I compare the quality of her work and her cleanliness to other places, I do think it's worth going back (as I have for the past 5 years)! Another plus is that she has a private room in the back of the salon for women who would like more privacy during their appointments. You can also set up an appointment at a special time to insure privacy and she will draw the curtains of the salon to make you comfortable. Pari is skilled, professional, and kindhearted and I would definitely recommend her!
