I always come to Alex for my head shave(I have a deth hawk) if I go too long without doing it on my own, but also for my color & trims. Alex used to work at The Shop in Berkeley and was the only one there who could properly cut my hair. Everyone else messed up my cowlick. When she opened up her own studio, Shear Talent, I followed her there. She consistently gives great haircuts, is reasonably priced, and is always running on-time (unlike most salons). I have had such an amazing experience with Alexandera and her services. My first appointment with her was to get my hair dyed red which was on December 1st and let's just say that the color has survived the test of time (and showers) and is still red - as of February 29th. She made me feel very comfortable and as it's a 1 on 1 salon I think it's very important that you feel safe and welcomed which she delivered 100%. She was great company and I enjoyed the conversation we had. My 2nd appointment with her was just as amazing and I got a mullet Mohawk which just shows how talented (pun intended) she is. It was $37 to get a haircut that I have absolutely no complaints over which is such a rarity. Almost every other salon/barber l've had the privilege of experiencing unfortunately left me not feeling satisfied or confident walking out the door (and were sometimes more expensive). So having a haircut that I feel great right always was so relieving (no dollar badly spent). I will recommend shear talent 110% to anyone who wants a very quality experience with someone who is great company and a great talker. Side note - you don't have to worry about parking either which just makes it better. I'm very happy i found such a gem nearby where I live. I usually get nervous when it comes to cutting my hair. I wait a few months till I get a haircut. Most hair salons I have gone in the past either cut too much or too little and I grow my hair out long and it's thick. Alex was able to get the kind of style I wanted and it came out better than I expected! She's super kind and makes sure to ask if it's okay or if it needs to change a bit. Her vibe is super nice and I felt comfortable She is definitely my personal hair stylist around the Richmond area and I highly recommend her! If you're looking for more private, and intimate space, this is your place to go to. Great for kids that have anxiety or special-needs and don't do good around crowds. I love Alex for her space, it's just you and her and nobody else . She is easy to talk to. She listens and double checks to make sure you are happy with your haircut or hair color. She will give you a four day grace period to make sure you're happy with your results or else she will try her best to satisfy your hair needs . parking is great too . No fuss in finding a parking . I previously had Alex cut my hair when she was the Shop in Berkeley, but now that she has her own place, the experience is even better. She is an excellent stylist--I have curly hair and she has a great sense for shaping and fading my hair so that it looks "just right." Her new space is very nice and well done. She has a huge mirror around the styling space so you can she her work as she's taking care of your hair. She's got the necessary COVID precautions taken care of as well. Lastly, I would add the she's also a very kind person and super easy to talk to, making it all that more enjoyable to get your hair cut.
