Well, what can I say? I have been calling them for a replumbing job for two months. i am informed that they will be out on a certain day to look at the job but that day comes and no one returns calls or shows up. This has happened multiple times. After 6 calls they tell me today that they will not be available for another month to even look at the job, much less get it done. Why didn't they simply tell me that the did not want the work in the first place rather than string me along. Look over more recent reviews regarding their work and charges, I cant speak to that. They were wonderful. We had to have a water heater replaced long distance in a vacant house. They gave us a quote, ordered and installed the best available replacement, and cleaned up their work area all within one week. To top it all, the bill came in under the estimate. read more

EXPENSIVE -- Alright - this is simply a heads up to how they are charging allot - double for their work. You will be told when you call - you have to give your credit card to guarantee payment. That's a red flag to start that people are not happy and apparently don't pay for the work done. Then you will be told they will send two men out to do the job. Why? You will be told in case assistance is needed. What if two men aren't needed? Well, that will not happen. You will not be told two men aren't needed and you WILL be charged double. The second man is an "apprentice" and it will take twice as long to get the job done. I witnessed this first hand. The licensed plumber will begin the work. He will then turn it over to the apprentice. The plumber will then have to redo what the apprentice attempted to do and then show the apprentice how the work should be done. Obviously this makes the job twice as long to be done and you will be charged for the teaching. It cost me allot to get simple repairs. We also can call this a scam. If you have an apprentice, do not charge me for him, apprentices need to pay for the right. So even though everyone at this business is very nice. I absolutely cannot recommend them because of the way they do business. read more

Worst service I have ever received. Showed up on wrong day. Left without hooking up cold water to the walk-in tub that was being installed. Had to come back. Very rude about it. Sent bill to wrong address and then threaten to send bill to collections. Bill was paid in full. Water faucet in shower still doesn't work properly. Recently, I called them for an unexpected rush job re our water line. The office staff was very nice and responsive. At first it sounded like it would be a few days before they could fit us in (understandably) and I took that opening. But then, just an hour later, they called me back to say someone was swinging by to check out the issue. Sure enough they did stop by and then completed the work the next day. I like that they can email you your invoice and you can pay on line. I felt the price was very reasonable given unexpected rush job. A week after they completed the work, my contractor wanted ANOTHER CHANGE so I had to call them back. Once again, they were super nice and accommodating. Within a few days the second job was completed and once again, I felt the price was reasonable. My third experience with this company was for an inside toilet leak problem. I was able to schedule for the work to be done when we were out of town. The office kept in contact with me and updated me on the findings before proceeding with the repairs. I appreciated that phone call and heads up of findings. Rau is my Newport plumber of choice! read more

Plumbing company didn't keep appointments that were made two days in a row, did not communicate to me the day of the appointments, I had to call both days to find out what was happening. Owner called me to blow off my business he didn't want to help and suggested I call someone else. No integrity business must be good so he can flush clients read more

I think it's possible this was a good firm at one point. It's also possible they can be used for small fixes. But based on our experience, you definitely want to avoid them on anything major. Their install of a new water heater for us was a disaster. Defective equipment, multiple leaks, and non-existent support. In the end, we suffered major floor damage from a slow leak they failed to find during multiple visits. They offered no help, advice, support, refund - nothing. When we brought in a new firm to repaid the damage, they were stunned by the shoddiness of the work done. Do yourself a favor - choose almost anybody else. read more

A great Plumbing Company ! The work performed was a great job. I have used many Plumbing Companies in Newport through-out the years (both personally and for Property Management) Crystal... After price quotes on the job from 4 plumbing companies, they were next to the lowest. I went with them because of their local good reputation, and from previous experience. Crystal... I did not have to give my credit card, nor have I ever had to with them... even for big projects. Of note, doing remodeling it is common practice to ask for half of the bid and the other half gets paid when the job is done. Both men were professionals in their work and never in the time I have used them for work, have they had to redo the work because an "Apprentice" did not do it correctly. Getting any work done on the Coast is hard... everyone is very busy. Of note my city says San Fransisco Ca. of which I have never lived... it should be Newport Or. read more

We called to get a quote on having some gas line run, and they were prompt in showing up to give a rough quote. We were aware at that time that they were booked out a month, and we accepted that. A month went by and we contacted them to find out when they would be available to do the work. They set up an appointment about a week later. We called a day before to verify that they would show and they told us someone was sick and they were behind, and couldn't make it for another week. We again accepted this and waited another week. We called the day before to verify they were going to show up and do the job. We were told we were on the schedule. The day of the appointment came, and we called around 1 pm to find out that no one was going to show up. They had never called us on any of these occasions to let us know of delays - we had to call, only to get pushed out, even on the day of the appointment. Sorry, but this is not acceptable. Can't verify the quality of work since they never showed up. read more
