The Rathgar bookshop, is well, a bookshop in Rathgar. Although this shop is small its well stocked especially in Gardening books, which it specialises in. Its nice to see an Independent bookshop in this part of Dublin as well. The place is small and pokey but also well laid out and with a small tea and coffee area in the back. Theres also a small garden in the back. As well as a gardening section the also have a well stocked, fiction, bestseller and children's books sections. The staff seemed friendly and knowledgeable and most things can be ordered in.

This shop was voted 'Bookseller of the Year 2005'. It is one of Dublin's few independent bookshops. The shop sells a variety of books, including poetry, childrens and gardening. It also sells music cds and greeting cards. Coffee is on sale and you can go to a small garden out the back with garden tables to read your book. Authors evenings also take place, where wine is served. The shop is run by two really nice women, who will help with any of your queries. There is a 10% reduction for three books or more, or if you are a member of a book club you also get a reduction. Ordering can be done by phone and fax also. This place is worth a visit if for nothing more than experience a bookshop other than Easons, Dubrays, Hughes & Hughes etc.

As I was strolling through the streets of Dublin I was in the mood to get lost in exploration…read more After quite some time of walking through the busy streets, stopping for a nice flat white and bracing the Irish winter winds I decided to turn a corner and ended up stumbling upon this place. Those that know me know I am a complete book girly. What asked what my pass time and hobbies are books are the answer to both. So when I saw this place I knew it was a must to head in and see what magic awaited. As i walked in I could see the great selection of books offered. They also had date with a book in which you only have a clue summary about the book that gives you a brief exiting blurb to catch your eye. Loved that they make reading fun! If you're in the mood for coffee or pastries there is a cafe located upstairs which is the perfect place to relax while reading a book. If you're in Dublin this is a must see! Great books and cute cafe it's giving all the vibes for a perfect relaxed day.

There's distinct literary vibe here, which took me awhile to get my bearings. There's lots of space to wander, of which both Gayle and I enjoyed. I only scratched this book store's surface, but did leave with nice literary journal and a book of poems titled Brink. The fellow old guy behind the counter pretty much left everybody along, and in my judgement not only knowing the time and being willing to tell you how the watch operated.

I always turn to Eason for my stationary and college supplies, birthday cards and magazines. They…read moreare probably the only bookstore in Dublin with the largest selection of magazines from every category, from gaming, photography and economy to cooking and fashion. I don't think any other store sells all this. You can also just stand and read without worrying about being thrown out of the store as you sometimes would in smaller newsagents. In terms of books, it has a large selection of books from almost every category as well as school books on the lower ground floor and a science section on the 2nd. Although it doesn't house obscure books or books for third level, it does have a large selection of general books always has stock of new releases and the most popular books. The stationary and art section is on the second floor and is pretty complete with almost everything one could possible need to school/ work, and they have a decent selection of art supplies, sketchbooks, paint etc. Kobo e-readers are also sold here by the way. However, I find the prices of books here to be a tad bit high but still comparable to other local bookstores but more expensive than online.

The main bookstore is OK and a walked right by the Irish souvenir section. What I really…read moreappreciated here was the relatively extensive magazine selection of which I picked up a Guardian Weekly. I didn't see much in the Stationary Department of which the Eason Nassau branch nicely provided later in my trip.
