Normally I prefer to shop in the small bookshops because I like helping the little guy out. However, there are times when I want to be dazzled by row upon row of glistening paperbacks. That's when I go to the Eason on O' Connell Street. There are other Easons but the big one has the best selection and atmosphere. There's the ground floor where you can look at newspapers and magazines for free and where there's the occasional book signing. The first floor sells stationary and the top floor has a Tower Records and a coffee shop. In the basement, they have language and school books. Basically all your intellectual needs are fulfilled in the Eason on O'Connell Street.

I love Eason's it is a great book shop. I go here if I want to get the latest Dorothy Koomson novel or just to have a browse at the many other wonderful books. Not only do they have books they have magasines, confectionary, cards and various other bits and bobs. If you are looking for a book you will always find it in Eason's.

Fantastic stationery, newsagent and book shop. Spread over several floors-very well equipped and friendly staff. Loved the cafe

I think Eason's has a little but of everything for all your one stop shopping for stationary, back to school supplies. The music store upstairs is very well stocked and the Muse cafe has delicious scones, tea, coffee or other hot food or dessert items to choose from. The staff is very friendly and polite as well. Eason's is my favorite place to visit when I'm in Dublin. They keep it well stocked and clean as well. Ciao.

A great store with amazing stock. I love that they get in so many different magazines like foreign Vogue.

As we walked by, we saw a sign that said, "Secret Book & Record Store", with an arrow pointing into a deep narrow hallway with posters of advertisements covering the walls. These places are the great finds in Dublin. At the end of the hall was a large room filled with used books, vintage vinyl & new releases including CDs. The store was a frezy of customers flipping through the bins of vinyl to find that one great band from their past. I did find a few old 80s punk albums but still on a quest today to find an original GBH or Exploited cover.

I eventually discovered its existence on the recommendation of a friend, so I took myself along one day to get the 411, as it were. And I haven't looked back since. The Secret Book & Record Store is how you would make a shop of this type look like if you were making a film about a cool shopkeeper and the problems he has with his idiosyncratic love life (whoops, just checked IMDB and 'High Fidelity' has already been made. Ah pooh). If you have a particular book in mind and think you might go to SB&RS on the off-chance that they might have it: don't. This one is strictly for the rummagers, but a rummagers dream it certainly is, with piles of books stacked any oul' way. I don't go in for records much meself but they have them too. Tip-top shop.

If you're in the mood for coffee or pastries there is a cafe located upstairs which is the perfect place to relax while reading a book. If you're in Dublin this is a must see! There's distinct literary vibe here, which took me awhile to get my bearings. There's lots of space to wander, of which both Gayle and I enjoyed. I only scratched this book store's surface, but did leave with nice literary journal and a book of poems titled Brink. The fellow old guy behind the counter pretty much left everybody along, and in my judgement not only knowing the time and being willing to tell you how the watch operated.
