Oh La La offers a range of boutique resortwear items, specialising mostly in beachwear and kaftans, and it manages to achieve a certain air of sophistication without the haughty sales assistants and hefty pricetags of other such stores in the vicinity. To demonstrate: you can pick up a lovely little beach dress from around 30 euro at Oh La La's current sale. And these outfits are very nice too, they're not your usual grossly out-of-fashion pieces that rich women sometimes mistake for chic simply because they find them in a boutique store. I was particularly impressed with the Parisian brand Deca, and found several of their pieces that could just find their way into my suitcase for my next beach holiday. My first introduction to Second Avenue was on a cold spring day a few years back; as we rounded a corner on a closed up shop I wondered if we'd gone too far. A moment later the shop front appeared, blocked in by rows of Land Rovers parked right in front of the shop window. Inside there was quiet as women fanned through beautiful silks and suits hung along the wall racks. At the centre table I fell in love with a black croc clutch that I would end up going back twice to mull over bringing home. The price tag ended the would-be romance.

So it would probably be a more suitable shopping destination for ladies rather than girls, or for the refined occasion - think hats and gloves - rather than a night out on the town. The shop itself is nicely set out, with accessories strewn around the store, breaking up the clothing displays and providing temptation for its shoppers. Unlike some of the other women's clothing stores in this precinct, this one is very unpretentious, and doesn't make you feel like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.

It used to be in a small shop in the middle of Naas town but it moved to what used to be a pub. The interior in there is unreal. A huge chandelier, wooden floors, decadent wallpapering. I am a tad biased as my best mate manages the place but the clothes she has are something that you just can't get anywhere else. They go to the fashion shows in London and buy straight from the source. The girls that work there are model material themselves but thankfully they are so down to earth and only to happy to dress you in what suits. It ain't cheap that's for sure, but they do have amazing sales quite often, sometimes up to 50%+ off.

I purchased a silk weave nude tightish top there - 6 weeks later a zillion little holes appeared in it - the cost of the top €115 - next time I'll wait until I am back in London again and will purchase same for half that or less.
